¹⁷ Then Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become ^(A)fishers of men.”

¹⁰ and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid. ^(A)From now on you will catch men.”

¹⁹ Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and ^(A)I will make you fishers of men.” ^20 (B)They immediately left their nets and followed Him.

³⁸ Then Peter said to them, ^(A)“Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the ^[a]remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ³⁹ For the promise is to you and ^(B)to your children, and ^(C)to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

A Vital Church Grows

⁴⁰ And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this ^[b]perverse generation.” ⁴¹ Then those who ^[c]gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.

¹⁰ It shall be that fishermen will stand by it from En Gedi to En Eglaim; they will be places for spreading their nets. Their fish will be of the same kinds as the fish ^(A)of the Great Sea, exceedingly many.
