11 Then they began to question Him, “Why do the scribes(A) say that Elijah must come first?”(B)
12 “Elijah does come first and restores(C) everything,”(D) He replied. “How then is it written(E) about the Son of Man that He must suffer(F) many things and be treated with contempt?(G) 13 But I tell you that Elijah really has come, and they did whatever they pleased to him, just as it is written(H) about him.”

12 Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah does come first, and restores all things. Why then is it written that the Son of Man(A) must suffer much(B) and be rejected?(C) 13 But I tell you, Elijah has come,(D) and they have done to him everything they wished, just as it is written about him.”
