The Faith of a Gentile Woman
24 Then Jesus left Galilee and went north to the region of Tyre.[a] He didn’t want anyone to know which house he was staying in, but he couldn’t keep it a secret. 25 Right away a woman who had heard about him came and fell at his feet. Her little girl was possessed by an evil[b] spirit, 26 and she begged him to cast out the demon from her daughter.
Since she was a Gentile, born in Syrian Phoenicia, 27 Jesus told her, “First I should feed the children—my own family, the Jews.[c] It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.”
28 She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even the dogs under the table are allowed to eat the scraps from the children’s plates.”
29 “Good answer!” he said. “Now go home, for the demon has left your daughter.” 30 And when she arrived home, she found her little girl lying quietly in bed, and the demon was gone.
Jesus Heals a Deaf Man
31 Jesus left Tyre and went up to Sidon before going back to the Sea of Galilee and the region of the Ten Towns.[d] 32 A deaf man with a speech impediment was brought to him, and the people begged Jesus to lay his hands on the man to heal him.
33 Jesus led him away from the crowd so they could be alone. He put his fingers into the man’s ears. Then, spitting on his own fingers, he touched the man’s tongue. 34 Looking up to heaven, he sighed and said, “Ephphatha,” which means, “Be opened!” 35 Instantly the man could hear perfectly, and his tongue was freed so he could speak plainly!
36 Jesus told the crowd not to tell anyone, but the more he told them not to, the more they spread the news. 37 They were completely amazed and said again and again, “Everything he does is wonderful. He even makes the deaf to hear and gives speech to those who cannot speak.”
Jesus Feeds Four Thousand
8 About this time another large crowd had gathered, and the people ran out of food again. Jesus called his disciples and told them, 2 “I feel sorry for these people. They have been here with me for three days, and they have nothing left to eat. 3 If I send them home hungry, they will faint along the way. For some of them have come a long distance.”
4 His disciples replied, “How are we supposed to find enough food to feed them out here in the wilderness?”
5 Jesus asked, “How much bread do you have?”
“Seven loaves,” they replied.
6 So Jesus told all the people to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves, thanked God for them, and broke them into pieces. He gave them to his disciples, who distributed the bread to the crowd. 7 A few small fish were found, too, so Jesus also blessed these and told the disciples to distribute them.
8 They ate as much as they wanted. Afterward, the disciples picked up seven large baskets of leftover food. 9 There were about 4,000 men in the crowd that day, and Jesus sent them home after they had eaten. 10 Immediately after this, he got into a boat with his disciples and crossed over to the region of Dalmanutha.

24 Unya gikan sa probinsya sa Galilea miadto si Jesus sa mga lugar nga sakop sa Tyre [ug Sidon]. Didto midayon siya sa usa ka balay. Dili unta niya gusto nga mahibaloan sa mga tawo nga atua siya didto, apan dili gayod kini matago. 25-26 Gani adunay babaye nga dili Judio nga nakadungog nga atua didto si Jesus. Kini nga babaye taga-Fenicia nga sakop sa Syria ug ang iyang pinulongan Griego. May anak siya nga babaye nga gigamhan sa daotang espiritu. Busa miadto dayon siya kang Jesus ug miluhod, ug nagpakilooy nga kon mahimo hinginlan niya ang daotang espiritu sa iyang anak. 27 Apan miingon si Jesus kaniya pinaagi sa sambingay, “kinahanglan nga pakan-on una ang mga anak, kay dili maayo nga kuhaon ang pagkaon sa mga anak ug ihatag ngadto sa mga iro.”[a] 28 Mitubag ang babaye kaniya, “Husto kana Ginoo, apan bisan pa ang mga iro sa ilalom sa lamisa makakaon sa mga usik sa mga anak.” 29 Unya miingon si Jesus kaniya, “Tungod sa imong tubag, makapauli ka na. Ang daotang espiritu mibiya na sa imong anak.” 30 Mipauli ang babaye ug naabtan niya ang iyang anak nga nagahigda sa katre, ug ang daotang espiritu mibiya na kaniya.
Giayo ni Jesus ang Usa ka Tawo nga Bungol ug Amang
31 Gikan sa mga dapit nga sakop sa Tyre, miagi si Jesus sa Sidon ug sa probinsya sa Decapolis. Pagkahuman milahos siya sa Linaw sa Galilea. 32 May tawo didto nga bungol ug amang nga gidala sa mga tawo ngadto kang Jesus. Nagpakilooy sila nga ipatong niya ang iyang kamot niini nga tawo. 33 Gilain siya ni Jesus sa kadaghanan, ug gisulod ni Jesus ang iyang mga tudlo sa mga dalunggan niini. Unya miluwa siya ug gipaghid ang laway ngadto sa dila niadtong lalaki. 34 Mihangad si Jesus sa langit ug miginhawag lawom. Ug miingon kaniya, “Effata!” Ang buot ipasabot, “Maabli ka!” 35 Human niadto makadungog na siya ug klaro na ang iyang pagsulti. 36 Gipasidan-an ni Jesus ang mga tawo nga dili sila mosulti kang bisan kinsa mahitungod sa nahitabo. Apan bisan ug gidid-an sila misamot pa hinuon ang ilang pagpanugilon sa hitabo ngadto sa mga tawo. 37 Dako gayod ang katingala sa mga tawo. Miingon sila, “Maayo ang tanan niyang gibuhat! Kay bisan ang mga bungol gihimo niya nga makadungog ug ang mga amang makasulti na!”
Gipakaon ni Jesus ang upat ka libo ka mga Tawo
(Mat. 15:32-39)
8 Human sa pipila ka adlaw, nagtigom na usab ang daghang mga tawo didto kang Jesus. Sa dihang wala na silay pagkaon gitawag ni Jesus ang iyang mga tinun-an ug giingnan, 2 “Nalooy gayod ako niining mga tawhana. Tulo na ka adlaw nga nagauban-uban sila kanako ug wala na silay makaon. 3 Kon papaulion ko sila nga gutom basin ug makuyapan sila sa dalan kay layo pa man kaayo ang gigikanan sa uban kanila.” 4 Mitubag ang iyang mga tinun-an, “Asa kita makakuha ug pagkaon dinhi sa mamingaw nga dapit nga ipakaon niining mga tawhana?” 5 Nangutana si Jesus kanila, “Pila ba ka buok ang inyong pan diha?” Mitubag sila, “Pito ka buok.”
6 Unya gipalingkod ni Jesus ang mga tawo. Gikuha niya ang pito ka pan ug nagpasalamat sa Dios. Gipikas-pikas niya kini ug gihatag sa iyang mga tinun-an aron iapod-apod sa mga tawo. 7 May pipila usab sila ka gagmay nga mga isda. Gipasalamatan usab niya kini ug gihatag sa iyang mga tinun-an aron iapod-apod sa mga tawo. 8 Nangaon sila ug nangabusog. Pagkahuman nilag pangaon, gitigom nila ang pan nga sobra, ug napuno ang pito ka bukag. 9 Ang mga lalaki lang nga nangaon mga upat ka libo. Human niadto gipapauli ni Jesus ang mga tawo 10 ug misakay siya sa sakayan uban sa iyang mga tinun-an ug miadto sa Dalmanuta.
