5 Then the Pharisees(A) and the scribes(B) asked Him, “Why don’t Your disciples live according to the tradition of the elders,(C) instead of eating bread with ritually unclean[a] hands?”
6 He answered them, “Isaiah(D) prophesied(E) correctly about you hypocrites,(F) as it is written:(G)
These people honor(H) Me with their lips,
but their heart is far from Me.
7 They worship Me in vain,
teaching(I) as doctrines(J) the commands(K) of men.(L)[b]
