²¹ For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, ^(A)murder, adultery, ²² coveting, wickedness, deceit, ^(B)sensuality, ^(C)envy, ^(D)slander, ^(E)pride, ^(F)foolishness. ^23 (G)All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”

⁹ Or do you not know that the unrighteous^[a] will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: ^(A)neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,^{[b] 10} nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

¹⁷ For ^(A)the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, ^(B)to keep you from doing the things you want to do. ¹⁸ But if you are ^(C)led by the Spirit, ^(D)you are not under the law. ¹⁹ Now ^(E)the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, ^(F)divisions, ²¹ envy,^[a] drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that ^(G)those who do^[b] such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
