26 How was it that he went into the House of God during the lifetime[a] of Abiathar the high priest and ate the Bread of the Presence, which was not lawful for anyone but the priests to eat, and gave some of it to his companions?”
27 Then he told them, “The Sabbath was made for people, not people for the Sabbath. 28 Therefore, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”

26 In the days of Abiathar the high priest,(A) he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat.(B) And he also gave some to his companions.”(C)
27 Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man,(D) not man for the Sabbath.(E) 28 So the Son of Man(F) is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
