26 How he went into the house of God, in the days of [a]Abiathar the high Priest, and did eat the Showbread, which were not lawful to eat, but for the (A)Priests, and gave also to them which were with him?
27 And he said to them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.
28 Wherefore the Son of man is Lord, even of the [b]Sabbath.

26 In the days of Abiathar the high priest,(A) he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat.(B) And he also gave some to his companions.”(C)
27 Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man,(D) not man for the Sabbath.(E) 28 So the Son of Man(F) is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
