12 At once the man sprang to his feet, picked up his bed and walked off in full view of them all. Everyone was amazed, praised God, and said, “We have never seen anything like this before.”
13 Then Jesus went out again by the lake-side and the whole crowd came to him, and he continued to teach them.
Jesus now calls “a sinner” to follow him
14 As Jesus went on his way, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at his desk in the tax office and he said to him, “Follow me!”

12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God,(A) saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”(B)
Jesus Calls Levi and Eats With Sinners(C)
13 Once again Jesus went out beside the lake. A large crowd came to him,(D) and he began to teach them. 14 As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,”(E) Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him.
