Mark 14:27-31

²⁷^(B)Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble ^[a]because of Me this night, for it is written:

^(C)‘I will strike the Shepherd,
And the sheep will be scattered.’

²⁸“But ^(D)after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.”

²⁹^(E)Peter said to Him, “Even if all are made to ^[b]stumble, yet I will not be.”

³⁰Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you that today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.”

³¹But he spoke more vehemently, “If I have to die with You, I will not deny You!”

And they all said likewise.

“‘I will strike the shepherd,

²⁸But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”^(C)

²⁹Peter declared, “Even if all fall away, I will not.”

³⁰“Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “today—yes, tonight—before the rooster crows twice^[b] you yourself will disown me three times.”^(D)

³¹But Peter insisted emphatically, “Even if I have to die with you,^(E) I will never disown you.” And all the others said the same.
