Mark 14:27-29

The Voice

Jesus: ²⁷All of you will desert Me tonight. It was written by Zechariah,

I will strike the shepherd,
and the sheep will scatter.^[a]

²⁸But when I am raised up, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.

Peter (protesting): ²⁹It doesn’t matter who else turns his back on You. I will never desert You.

²⁷“You will all fall away,” Jesus told them, “for it is written:

“‘I will strike the shepherd,
and the sheep will be scattered.’^[a]^(B)

²⁸But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”^(C)

²⁹Peter declared, “Even if all fall away, I will not.”
