²² For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and ^(A)wonders to deceive, if possible, even the ^[a]elect.

²⁴ For ^(A)false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, ^(B)if possible, even the elect.

^13 (A)He performs great signs, ^(B)so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. ^14 (C)And he deceives ^[a]those who dwell on the earth ^(D)by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword ^(E)and lived.

⁸ And then the lawless one will be revealed, ^(A)whom the Lord will consume ^(B)with the breath of His mouth and destroy ^(C)with the brightness of His coming. ⁹ The coming of the lawless one is ^(D)according to the working of Satan, with all power, ^(E)signs, and lying wonders, ¹⁰ and with all unrighteous deception among ^(F)those who perish, because they did not receive ^(G)the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And ^(H)for this reason God will send them strong delusion, ^(I)that they should believe the lie, ¹² that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but ^(J)had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Stand Fast

¹³ But we are ^[a]bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God ^(K)from the beginning ^(L)chose you for salvation ^(M)through ^[b]sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, ¹⁴ to which He called you by our gospel, for ^(N)the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁴⁸ Then Jesus said to him, ^(A)“Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.”
