Conspiración para arrestar a Jesús(A)
14 Faltaban dos días para la fiesta de la Pascua, cuando se come el pan sin levadura. Los jefes de los sacerdotes y los maestros de la ley buscaban la manera de arrestar a Jesús por medio de algún engaño, y matarlo. 2 Pues algunos decían:
—No durante la fiesta, para que la gente no se alborote.
Una mujer derrama perfume sobre Jesús(B)
3 Jesús había ido a Betania, a casa de Simón, al que llamaban el leproso. Mientras estaba sentado a la mesa, llegó una mujer que llevaba un frasco de alabastro lleno de perfume de nardo puro, de mucho valor. Rompió el frasco y derramó el perfume sobre la cabeza de Jesús. 4 Algunos de los presentes se enojaron, y se dijeron unos a otros:
—¿Por qué se ha desperdiciado este perfume? 5 Podía haberse vendido por el equivalente al salario de trescientos días, para ayudar a los pobres.
Y criticaban a aquella mujer.
6 Pero Jesús dijo:
—Déjenla; ¿por qué la molestan? Ha hecho una obra buena conmigo. 7 Pues a los pobres siempre los tendrán entre ustedes, y pueden hacerles bien cuando quieran; pero a mí no siempre me van a tener. 8 Esta mujer ha hecho lo que ha podido: ha perfumado mi cuerpo de antemano para mi entierro. 9 Les aseguro que en cualquier lugar del mundo donde se anuncie la buena noticia, se hablará también de lo que hizo esta mujer, y así será recordada.
Judas traiciona a Jesús(C)
10 Judas Iscariote, uno de los doce discípulos, fue a ver a los jefes de los sacerdotes para entregarles a Jesús. 11 Al oírlo, se alegraron y prometieron darle dinero a Judas, que comenzó a buscar el momento más oportuno de entregar a Jesús.
La Cena del Señor(D)
12 El primer día de la fiesta en que se comía el pan sin levadura, cuando se sacrificaba el cordero de Pascua, los discípulos de Jesús le preguntaron:
—¿Dónde quieres que vayamos a prepararte la cena de Pascua?
13 Entonces envió a dos de sus discípulos, diciéndoles:
—Vayan a la ciudad. Allí encontrarán a un hombre que lleva un cántaro de agua; síganlo, 14 y donde entre, digan al dueño de la casa: “El Maestro pregunta: ¿Cuál es el cuarto donde voy a comer con mis discípulos la cena de Pascua?” 15 Él les mostrará en el piso alto un cuarto grande, arreglado y ya listo para la cena. Prepárennos allí lo necesario.
16 Los discípulos salieron y fueron a la ciudad. Lo encontraron todo como Jesús les había dicho, y prepararon la cena de Pascua.
17 Al anochecer llegó Jesús con los doce discípulos. 18 Mientras estaban a la mesa, comiendo, Jesús les dijo:
—Les aseguro que uno de ustedes, que está comiendo conmigo, me va a traicionar.
19 Ellos se pusieron tristes, y comenzaron a preguntarle uno por uno:
—¿Acaso seré yo?
20 Jesús les contestó:
—Es uno de los doce, que está mojando el pan en el mismo plato que yo. 21 El Hijo del hombre ha de recorrer el camino que dicen las Escrituras; pero ¡ay de aquel que lo traiciona! Hubiera sido mejor para él no haber nacido.
22 Mientras comían, Jesús tomó en sus manos el pan y, habiendo pronunciado la bendición, lo partió y se lo dio a ellos, diciendo:
—Tomen, esto es mi cuerpo.
23 Luego tomó en sus manos una copa y, habiendo dado gracias a Dios, se la pasó a ellos, y todos bebieron. 24 Les dijo:
—Esto es mi sangre, con la que se confirma la alianza, sangre que es derramada en favor de muchos. 25 Les aseguro que no volveré a beber del producto de la vid, hasta el día en que beba el vino nuevo en el reino de Dios.
Jesús anuncia que Pedro lo negará(E)
26 Después de cantar los salmos, se fueron al Monte de los Olivos. 27 Jesús les dijo:
—Todos ustedes van a perder su fe en mí. Así lo dicen las Escrituras: “Mataré al pastor, y las ovejas se dispersarán.” 28 Pero cuando yo resucite, los volveré a reunir en Galilea.
29 Pedro le dijo:
—Aunque todos pierdan su fe, yo no.
30 Jesús le contestó:
—Te aseguro que esta misma noche, antes que cante el gallo por segunda vez, me negarás tres veces.
31 Pero él insistía:
—Aunque tenga que morir contigo, no te negaré.
Y todos decían lo mismo.
Jesús ora en Getsemaní(F)
32 Luego fueron a un lugar llamado Getsemaní. Jesús dijo a sus discípulos:
—Siéntense aquí, mientras yo voy a orar.
33 Y se llevó a Pedro, a Santiago y a Juan, y comenzó a sentirse muy afligido y angustiado. 34 Les dijo:
—Siento en mi alma una tristeza de muerte. Quédense ustedes aquí, y permanezcan despiertos.
35 En seguida Jesús se fue un poco más adelante, se inclinó hasta tocar el suelo con la frente, y pidió a Dios que, de ser posible, no le llegara ese momento. 36 En su oración decía: «Abbá, Padre, para ti todo es posible: líbrame de este trago amargo; pero que no se haga lo que yo quiero, sino lo que quieres tú.»
37 Luego volvió a donde ellos estaban, y los encontró dormidos. Le dijo a Pedro:
—Simón, ¿estás durmiendo? ¿Ni siquiera una hora pudiste mantenerte despierto? 38 Manténganse despiertos y oren, para que no caigan en tentación. Ustedes tienen buena voluntad, pero son débiles.
39 Se fue otra vez, y oró repitiendo las mismas palabras. 40 Cuando volvió, encontró otra vez dormidos a los discípulos, porque sus ojos se les cerraban de sueño. Y no sabían qué contestarle. 41 Volvió por tercera vez, y les dijo:
—¿Siguen ustedes durmiendo y descansando? Ya basta, ha llegado la hora en que el Hijo del hombre va a ser entregado en manos de los pecadores. 42 Levántense, vámonos; ya se acerca el que me traiciona.
Arrestan a Jesús(G)
43 Todavía estaba hablando Jesús cuando Judas, uno de los doce discípulos, llegó acompañado de mucha gente armada con espadas y con palos. Iban de parte de los jefes de los sacerdotes, de los maestros de la ley y de los ancianos. 44 Judas, el traidor, les había dado una contraseña, diciéndoles: «Al que yo bese, ése es; arréstenlo y llévenselo bien sujeto.» 45 Así que se acercó a Jesús y le dijo:
—¡Maestro!
Y lo besó. 46 Entonces le echaron mano a Jesús y lo arrestaron.
47 Pero uno de los que estaban allí sacó su espada y le cortó una oreja al criado del sumo sacerdote. 48 Y Jesús preguntó a la gente:
—¿Por qué han venido ustedes con espadas y con palos a arrestarme, como si yo fuera un bandido? 49 Todos los días he estado entre ustedes enseñando en el templo, y nunca me arrestaron. Pero esto sucede para que se cumplan las Escrituras.
50 Todos los discípulos dejaron solo a Jesús, y huyeron. 51 Pero un joven lo seguía, cubierto sólo con una sábana. A éste lo agarraron, 52 pero él soltó la sábana y escapó desnudo.
Jesús ante la Junta Suprema(H)
53 Llevaron entonces a Jesús ante el sumo sacerdote, y se juntaron todos los jefes de los sacerdotes, los ancianos y los maestros de la ley. 54 Pedro lo siguió de lejos hasta dentro del patio de la casa del sumo sacerdote, y se quedó sentado con los guardianes del templo, calentándose junto al fuego.
55 Los jefes de los sacerdotes y toda la Junta Suprema buscaban alguna prueba para condenar a muerte a Jesús; pero no la encontraban. 56 Porque aunque muchos presentaban falsos testimonios contra él, se contradecían unos a otros. 57 Algunos se levantaron y lo acusaron falsamente, diciendo:
58 —Nosotros lo hemos oído decir: “Yo voy a destruir este templo que hicieron los hombres, y en tres días levantaré otro no hecho por los hombres.”
59 Pero ni aun así estaban de acuerdo en lo que decían.
60 Entonces el sumo sacerdote se levantó en medio de todos, y preguntó a Jesús:
—¿No contestas nada? ¿Qué es esto que están diciendo contra ti?
61 Pero Jesús se quedó callado, sin contestar nada. El sumo sacerdote volvió a preguntarle:
—¿Eres tú el Mesías, el Hijo del Dios bendito?
62 Jesús le dijo:
—Sí, yo soy. Y ustedes verán al Hijo del hombre sentado a la derecha del Todopoderoso, y viniendo en las nubes del cielo.
63 Entonces el sumo sacerdote se rasgó las ropas en señal de indignación, y dijo:
—¿Qué necesidad tenemos de más testigos? 64 Ustedes lo han oído decir palabras ofensivas contra Dios. ¿Qué les parece?
Todos estuvieron de acuerdo en que era culpable y debía morir.
65 Algunos comenzaron a escupirlo, y a taparle los ojos y golpearlo, diciéndole:
—¡Adivina quién te pegó!
Y los guardianes del templo le pegaron en la cara.
Pedro niega conocer a Jesús(I)
66 Pedro estaba abajo, en el patio. En esto llegó una de las sirvientas del sumo sacerdote; 67 y al ver a Pedro, que se estaba calentando junto al fuego, se quedó mirándolo y le dijo:
—Tú también andabas con Jesús, el de Nazaret.
68 Pedro lo negó, diciendo:
—No lo conozco, ni sé de qué estás hablando.
Y salió fuera, a la entrada. Entonces cantó un gallo. 69 La sirvienta vio otra vez a Pedro y comenzó a decir a los demás:
—Éste es uno de ellos.
70 Pero él volvió a negarlo. Poco después, los que estaban allí dijeron de nuevo a Pedro:
—Seguro que tú eres uno de ellos, pues también eres de Galilea.
71 Entonces Pedro comenzó a jurar y perjurar, diciendo:
—¡No conozco a ese hombre de quien ustedes están hablando!
72 En aquel mismo momento cantó el gallo por segunda vez, y Pedro se acordó de que Jesús le había dicho: «Antes que cante el gallo por segunda vez, me negarás tres veces.» Y se echó a llorar.

14 Pask and the feast of therf loaves was after two days. And the high priests [And the highest priests] and the scribes sought, how they should hold him with guile, and slay [him].
2 But they said, Not in the feast day, lest peradventure a noise were made among the people.
3 And when he was at Bethany, in the house of Simon leprous, and rested, a woman came, that had a box of alabaster of precious ointment spikenard; and when the box of alabaster was broken, she poured it on his head.[a]
4 But there were some that bare it heavily within themselves, and said, Whereto is this loss of ointment made?
5 For this ointment might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and be given to poor men. And they grumbled against her [And they groaned against her].
6 But Jesus said, Suffer ye her; what be ye heavy to her? she hath wrought a good work in [into] me.
7 For evermore ye shall have poor men with you, and when ye will, ye may do well to them; but ye shall not evermore have me. [For ye have ever poor men with you, and when ye will, ye be able to do well to them; forsooth ye shall not ever have me.]
8 She did that that she had; she came before to anoint my body into burying.
9 Truly I say to you, where ever this gospel shall be preached in all the world, and that that this woman hath done, shall be told into mind of him [and this thing that this woman hath done, shall be told into mind of her].
10 And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the high priests [went to the highest priests], to betray him to them.
11 And they heard, and joyed, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he should betray him opportunely [how he should betray him covenably].
12 And the first day of therf loaves, when they offered pask, the disciples said to him, Whither wilt thou that we go [Where wilt thou we go], and make ready to thee, that thou eat the pask?
13 And he sendeth two of his disciples, and saith to them, Go ye into the city, and a man bearing a gallon of water shall meet you; follow ye him.
14 And whither ever he entereth [And whither ever he shall enter], say ye to the lord of the house, That the master saith, Where is mine eating place, where I shall eat pask with my disciples?
15 And he shall show to you a great supping place arrayed, and there make ye ready to us.
16 And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said to them; and they made ready the pask.
17 And when the eventide was come [Soothly even made], he came with the twelve.
18 And when they sat at the meat, and ate [And them sitting at the meat, and eating], Jesus said, Truly I say to you, that one of you that eateth with me, shall betray me.
19 And they began to be sorry, and to say to him, each by themselves[b], Whether I?
20 Which said to them, One of the twelve that putteth [in] his hand with me in the platter.
21 And soothly man's Son goeth, as it is written of him; but woe to that man, by whom man's Son shall be betrayed. It were good to him, if that man had not been born.
22 And while they ate, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake [it], and gave to them, and said, Take ye; this is my body [Take; this is my body].
23 And when he had taken the cup, he did thankings, and gave to them, and all drank thereof.
24 And he said to them, This is my blood of the new testament, which shall be shed [out] for many.
25 Truly I say to you, for now I shall not drink of this fruit of the vine, [till] into that day when I shall drink it new in the realm of God.
26 And when the hymn was said, they went out into the hill of Olives.
27 And Jesus said to them, All ye shall be caused to stumble in me in this night [And Jesus saith to them, All ye shall be offended in me in this night]; for it is written, I shall smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered.
28 But after that I shall rise again, I shall go before you into Galilee.
29 And Peter said to him, Though all shall be caused to stumble, but not I [Though all shall be offended, but not I].
30 And Jesus said to him, Truly I say to thee, that to day before that the cock in this night crow twice, thou shalt thrice deny me.[c]
31 But he said more, Though it behoove, that I die together with thee, I shall not forsake thee [And he spake more, And if it shall behoove me to die together with thee, I shall not deny thee]. And in like manner all said.
32 And they came into a place, whose name is Gethsemane. And he said to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I pray.[d]
33 And he took Peter and James and John with him, and began to dread, and to be distressed.[e]
34 And he said to them, My soul is sorrowful to the death; abide ye here, and wake ye with me.[f]
35 And when he was gone forth a little, he felled down on the earth, and prayed, that if it might be, that the hour should pass from him.[g]
36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things be possible to thee, bear over from me this cup; but not that I will, but that thou wilt, be done.[h]
37 And he came, and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter [And he saith to Peter], Simon, sleepest thou? mightest thou not wake with me one hour?
38 Wake ye, and pray ye, that ye enter not into temptation; for the spirit is ready, but the flesh is frail [forsooth the spirit is ready, but the flesh is sick].
39 And again he went, and prayed, and said the same word;
40 and he turned again, and again found them sleeping; for their eyes were heavied. And they knew not [And they wist not], what they should answer to him.
41 And he came the third time, and said to them [and saith to them], Sleep ye now, and rest ye; it sufficeth. The hour is come; lo! man's Son shall be betrayed into the hands of sinful men [lo! man's son shall be betrayed into the hands of sinners].
42 Rise ye, go we; lo! he that shall betray me is nigh.
43 And yet while he spake, Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, came, and with him much people with swords and staves, sent from the high priests, and the scribes, and from the elder men. 44 And his traitor had given to them a token, and said [saying], Whomever I [shall] kiss, he it is; hold ye him, and lead ye him warily.

46 And they laid hands on him, and held him.
47 But one of the men that stood about, drew out a sword, and smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.[j]
48 And Jesus answered, and said to them, As to a thief ye have gone out with swords and staves, to take me?
49 Day by day I was among you, and taught in the temple [Day by day I was at you, teaching in the temple], and ye held not me; but that the scriptures be fulfilled.
50 Then all his disciples forsook him, and fled.
51 But a young man [Soothly some young man], clothed with linen cloth on the bare, followed him; and they held him.

53 And they led Jesus to the highest priest. And all the priests and scribes and elder men came together [And all came together into one, the priests and the scribes and elder men].
54 But Peter followed him afar [till] into the hall of the highest priest. And he sat with the servants, and warmed him(self) at the fire.
55 And the highest priests, and all the council, sought witnessing against Jesus to take him to the death [that they should betake him to death]; but they found not.
56 For many said false witnessing against him, and the witnessings were not suitable [and the witnessings were not covenable].
57 And some rose up, and bare false witnessing against him, and said [saying],
58 For we heard him saying [say], I shall undo this temple made with hands, and after the third day [and by the third day] I shall build another not made with hands.
59 And the witnessing of them was not suitable. [And the witnessing of them was not covenable.]
60 And the highest priest rose up into the middle, and asked Jesus, and said[k], Answerest thou nothing to those things that be put against thee of these [men]?
61 But he was still, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him [Again the highest priest asked him], and said to him, Art thou Christ, the Son of the blessed God?
62 And Jesus said to him, I am; and ye shall see man's Son sitting on the right half of the virtue of God, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
63 And the high priest rent his clothes, and said, What yet desire we witnesses? [Forsooth the highest priest, cutting his clothes, saith, What yet desire we witnesses?]
64 Ye have heard blasphemy. What seemeth to you? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.
65 And some began to bespit him, and to cover his face, and to smite him with buffets, and to say to him, Declare thou [And some began to spit on him, and to hide his face, and smite him with buffets, and say to him, Prophesy thou]. And the ministers beat him with strokes.
66 And when Peter was in the hall beneath, one of the damsels of the high priest came [one of the handmaidens of the highest priest came].
67 And when she had seen Peter warming him(self), she beheld him, and said, And thou were with Jesus of Nazareth [And thou wast with Jesus of Nazareth].
68 And he denied, and said [saying], Neither I know, neither I know, what thou sayest. And he went [out] withoutforth before the hall; and at once [and anon] the cock crew.
69 And again when another damsel had seen him, she began to say to men that stood about, That this is of them.[l]
70 And he again denied. And after a little, again they that stood nigh, said to Peter, Verily thou art of them, for thou art of Galilee also [And after a little, again they that were present, said to Peter, Verily thou art of them, for also thou art of Galilee].
71 But he began to curse and to swear, For I know not this man, of whom ye say.
72 And at once [And anon] again the cock crew. And Peter bethought on the word that Jesus had said to him, Before the cock crow twice, thrice thou shalt deny me [Before that the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice]. And he began to weep.

3 耶稣在伯大尼长大麻风的西门家里坐席的时候，有一个女人拿着一玉瓶至贵的真哪哒香膏来，打破玉瓶，把膏浇在耶稣的头上。 4 有几个人心中很不喜悦，说：“何用这样枉费香膏呢？ 5 这香膏可以卖三十多两银子周济穷人。”他们就向那女人生气。 6 耶稣说：“由她吧！为什么难为她呢？她在我身上做的是一件美事。 7 因为常有穷人和你们同在，要向他们行善随时都可以，只是你们不常有我。 8 她所做的是尽她所能的，她是为我安葬的事，把香膏预先浇在我身上。 9 我实在告诉你们：普天之下，无论在什么地方传这福音，也要述说这女人所做的，以为纪念。”
犹大卖主
10 十二门徒之中有一个加略人犹大，去见祭司长，要把耶稣交给他们。 11 他们听见就欢喜，又应许给他银子，他就寻思如何得便把耶稣交给他们。
预备逾越节的筵席
12 除酵节的第一天，就是宰逾越羊羔的那一天，门徒对耶稣说：“你吃逾越节的筵席，要我们往哪里去预备呢？” 13 耶稣就打发两个门徒，对他们说：“你们进城去，必有人拿着一瓶水迎面而来，你们就跟着他。 14 他进哪家去，你们就对那家的主人说：‘夫子说：客房在哪里？我与门徒好在那里吃逾越节的筵席。’ 15 他必指给你们摆设整齐的一间大楼，你们就在那里为我们预备。” 16 门徒出去，进了城，所遇见的正如耶稣所说的，他们就预备了逾越节的筵席。
17 到了晚上，耶稣和十二个门徒都来了。 18 他们坐席正吃的时候，耶稣说：“我实在告诉你们：你们中间有一个与我同吃的人要卖我了。” 19 他们就忧愁起来，一个一个地问他说：“是我吗？” 20 耶稣对他们说：“是十二个门徒中同我蘸手在盘子里的那个人。 21 人子必要去世，正如经上指着他所写的，但卖人子的人有祸了！那人不生在世上倒好。”
设立圣餐
22 他们吃的时候，耶稣拿起饼来，祝了福，就掰开，递给他们，说：“你们拿着吃，这是我的身体。” 23 又拿起杯来，祝谢了，递给他们，他们都喝了。 24 耶稣说：“这是我立约的血，为多人流出来的。 25 我实在告诉你们：我不再喝这葡萄汁，直到我在神的国里喝新的那日子。”
26 他们唱了诗，就出来往橄榄山去。
预言彼得不认主
27 耶稣对他们说：“你们都要跌倒了，因为经上记着说：‘我要击打牧人，羊就分散了。’ 28 但我复活以后，要在你们以先往加利利去。” 29 彼得说：“众人虽然跌倒，我总不能。” 30 耶稣对他说：“我实在告诉你：就在今天夜里，鸡叫两遍以先，你要三次不认我。” 31 彼得却极力地说：“我就是必须和你同死，也总不能不认你！”众门徒都是这样说。
在客西马尼祷告
32 他们来到一个地方，名叫客西马尼，耶稣对门徒说：“你们坐在这里，等我祷告。” 33 于是带着彼得、雅各、约翰同去，就惊恐起来，极其难过， 34 对他们说：“我心里甚是忧伤，几乎要死。你们在这里等候，警醒。” 35 他就稍往前走，俯伏在地，祷告说倘若可行，便叫那时候过去。 36 他说：“阿爸，父啊！在你凡事都能，求你将这杯撤去！然而，不要从我的意思，只要从你的意思。”
主勉励门徒警醒祷告
37 耶稣回来，见他们睡着了，就对彼得说：“西门，你睡觉吗？不能警醒片时吗？ 38 总要警醒祷告，免得入了迷惑。你们心灵固然愿意，肉体却软弱了。” 39 耶稣又去祷告，说的话还是与先前一样。 40 又来，见他们睡着了，因为他们的眼睛甚是困倦；他们也不知道怎么回答。 41 第三次来，对他们说：“现在你们仍然睡觉安歇吧[a]！够了，时候到了。看哪，人子被卖在罪人手里了！ 42 起来，我们走吧！看哪，那卖我的人近了！”
盗卖和捉拿
43 说话之间，忽然那十二个门徒里的犹大来了，并有许多人带着刀棒，从祭司长和文士并长老那里与他同来。 44 卖耶稣的人曾给他们一个暗号，说：“我与谁亲嘴，谁就是他。你们把他拿住，牢牢靠靠地带去。” 45 犹大来了，随即到耶稣跟前，说：“拉比！”便与他亲嘴。 46 他们就下手拿住他。 47 旁边站着的人，有一个拔出刀来，将大祭司的仆人砍了一刀，削掉了他一个耳朵。 48 耶稣对他们说：“你们带着刀棒出来拿我，如同拿强盗吗？ 49 我天天教训人，同你们在殿里，你们并没有拿我。但这事成就，为要应验经上的话。” 50 门徒都离开他逃走了。
51 有一个少年人赤身披着一块麻布，跟随耶稣，众人就捉拿他。 52 他却丢了麻布，赤身逃走了。
在公会前受审
53 他们把耶稣带到大祭司那里，又有众祭司长和长老并文士都来和大祭司一同聚集。 54 彼得远远地跟着耶稣，一直进入大祭司的院里，和差役一同坐在火光里烤火。 55 祭司长和全公会寻找见证控告耶稣，要治死他，却寻不着。 56 因为有好些人作假见证告他，只是他们的见证各不相合。 57 又有几个人站起来作假见证告他，说： 58 “我们听见他说：‘我要拆毁这人手所造的殿，三日内就另造一座不是人手所造的。’” 59 他们就是这么作见证，也是各不相合。 60 大祭司起来站在中间，问耶稣说：“你什么都不回答吗？这些人作见证告你的是什么呢？” 61 耶稣却不言语，一句也不回答。大祭司又问他说：“你是那当称颂者的儿子基督不是？” 62 耶稣说：“我是。你们必看见人子坐在那权能者的右边，驾着天上的云降临。” 63 大祭司就撕开衣服，说：“我们何必再用见证人呢？ 64 你们已经听见他这僭妄的话了。你们的意见如何？”他们都定他该死的罪。 65 就有人吐唾沫在他脸上，又蒙着他的脸，用拳头打他，对他说：“你说预言吧！”差役接过他来，用手掌打他。
彼得三次不认主
66 彼得在下边院子里，来了大祭司的一个使女， 67 见彼得烤火，就看着他说：“你素来也是同拿撒勒人耶稣一伙的。” 68 彼得却不承认，说：“我不知道，也不明白你说的是什么。”于是出来，到了前院，鸡就叫了。 69 那使女看见他，又对旁边站着的人说：“这也是他们一党的。” 70 彼得又不承认。过了不多的时候，旁边站着的人又对彼得说：“你真是他们一党的，因为你是加利利人。” 71 彼得就发咒起誓地说：“我不认得你们说的这个人！” 72 立时鸡叫了第二遍。彼得想起耶稣对他所说的话：“鸡叫两遍以先，你要三次不认我。”思想起来，就哭了。
