13 At paglabas niya sa templo, ay sinabi sa kaniya ng isa sa kaniyang mga alagad, Guro, masdan mo, pagkaiinam ng mga bato, at pagkaiinam na mga gusali!
2 At sinabi ni Jesus sa kaniya, Nakikita mo baga ang malalaking gusaling ito? walang matitira ditong isang bato sa ibabaw ng kapuwa bato na di ibabagsak.
3 At samantalang siya'y nakaupo sa bundok ng mga Olivo sa tapat ng templo, ay tinanong siya ng lihim ni Pedro at ni Santiago at ni Juan at ni Andres,
4 Sabihin mo sa amin, kailan mangyayari ang mga bagay na ito? at ano ang magiging tanda pagka malapit ng maganap ang lahat ng mga bagay na ito?
5 At si Jesus ay nagpasimulang magsabi sa kanila, Mangagingat kayo na huwag kayong paligaw kanino mang tao.
6 Maraming paririto sa aking pangalan, na magsisipagsabi, Ako ang Cristo; at maliligaw ang marami.
7 At kung mangakarinig kayo ng mga digma at ng mga alingawngaw ng mga digma, ay huwag kayong mangagulumihanan: ang mga bagay na ito'y dapat na mangyari: datapuwa't hindi pa ang wakas.
8 Sapagka't magtitindig ang bansa laban sa bansa, at ang kaharian laban sa kaharian; at lilindol sa iba't ibang dako; magkakagutom: ang mga bagay na ito'y pasimula ng kahirapan.
9 Datapuwa't mangagingat kayo sa inyong sarili: sapagka't kayo'y ibibigay nila sa mga Sanedrin; at kayo'y hahampasin sa mga sinagoga; at kayo'y magsisitindig sa harap ng mga gobernador at ng mga hari dahil sa akin, na bilang patotoo sa kanila.
10 At sa lahat ng mga bansa ay kinakailangan munang maipangaral ang evangelio.
11 At pagka kayo'y dinala sa harap ng mga kapulungan, at kayo'y ibigay, ay huwag kayong mangabalisa kung ano ang inyong sasabihin: datapuwa't ang ipagkaloob sa inyo sa oras na yaon, ay siya ninyong sabihin; sapagka't hindi kayo ang magsasalita, kundi ang Espiritu Santo.
12 At ibibigay ng kapatid sa kamatayan ang kapatid, at ng ama ang kaniyang anak; at magsisipaghimagsik ang mga anak laban sa mga magulang, at sila'y ipapapatay.
13 At kayo'y kapopootan ng lahat ng mga tao dahil sa aking pangalan: datapuwa't ang magtitiis hanggang sa wakas, ay siyang maliligtas.
14 Nguni't pagkakita ninyo ng kasuklamsuklam na paninira, na nakatayo doon sa hindi dapat niyang kalagyan (unawain ng bumabasa), kung magkagayo'y magsitakas sa mga bundok ang nangasa Judea:
15 At ang nasa bubungan ay huwag bumaba, ni pumasok, upang maglabas ng anoman sa kaniyang bahay:
16 At ang nasa bukid ay huwag magbalik upang kumuha ng kaniyang balabal.
17 Datapuwa't sa aba ng nangagdadalangtao at ng nangagpapasuso sa mga araw na yaon!
18 At magsipanalangin kayo na ito'y huwag mangyari sa panahong taginaw.
19 Sapagka't ang mga araw na yaon ay magiging kapighatian, na ang gayo'y di pa nangyayari buhat sa pasimula ng paglalang na nilikha ng Dios hanggang ngayon, at ni hindi na mangyayari kailan man.
20 At malibang paikliin ng Panginoon ang mga araw, ay walang laman na makaliligtas; datapuwa't dahil sa mga hirang, na kaniyang hinirang, ay pinaikli niya ang mga araw.
21 At kung magkagayon kung may magsabi sa inyong sinomang tao, Narito, ang Cristo; o, Nariyan; huwag ninyong paniwalaan:
22 Sapagka't may magsisilitaw na mga bulaang Cristo at mga bulaang propeta, at mangagpapakita ng mga tanda at mga kababalaghan, upang mailigaw nila, kung mangyayari, ang mga hirang.
23 Datapuwa't mangagingat kayo: narito, ipinagpauna ko nang sinabi sa inyo ang lahat ng mga bagay.
24 Nguni't sa mga araw na yaon, pagkatapos ng kapighatiang yaon, ay magdidilim ang araw, at ang buwan ay hindi magbibigay ng kaniyang liwanag,
25 At mangalalaglag ang mga bituin mula sa langit, at magsisipangatal ang mga kapangyarihan sa mga langit.
26 At kung magkagayo'y makikita nila ang Anak ng tao na napariritong nasa mga alapaap na may dakilang kapangyarihan at kaluwalhatian.
27 At kung magkagayo'y susuguin niya ang mga anghel, at titipunin ang kaniyang mga hinirang mula sa apat na hangin, mula sa wakas ng lupa hanggang sa dulo ng langit.
28 Sa puno nga ng igos ay pag-aralan ninyo ang kaniyang talinghaga: pagka nananariwa ang kaniyang sanga, at sumusupling ang mga dahon, ay nalalaman ninyo na malapit na ang tagaraw;
29 Gayon din naman kayo, pagka nangakita ninyong nangyari ang mga bagay na ito, ay talastasin ninyo na siya'y malapit na, nasa mga pintuan nga.
30 Katotohanang sinasabi ko sa inyo, Hindi lilipas ang lahing ito, hanggang sa mangaganap ang lahat ng mga bagay na ito.
31 Ang langit at ang lupa ay lilipas: datapuwa't ang aking mga salita ay hindi lilipas.
32 Nguni't tungkol sa araw o oras na yaon ay walang nakakaalam, kahit ang mga anghel sa langit, kahit ang Anak, kundi ang Ama.
33 Kayo'y mangagingat, mangagpuyat at magsipanalangin: sapagka't hindi ninyo nalalaman kung kailan kaya ang panahon.
34 Gaya ng isang tao na nanirahan sa ibang lupain, na pagkaiwan ng kaniyang bahay, at pagkabigay ng kapamahalaan sa kaniyang mga alipin, sa bawa't isa'y ang kaniyang gawain, ay nagutos din naman sa bantay-pinto na magpuyat.
35 Mangagpuyat nga kayo: sapagka't hindi ninyo nalalaman kung kailan paririto ang panginoon ng bahay, kung sa hapon, o sa hating gabi, o sa pagtilaok ng manok, o sa umaga;
36 Baka kung biglang pumarito ay kayo'y mangaratnang nangatutulog.
37 At ang sinasabi ko sa inyo ay sinasabi ko sa lahat, Mangagpuyat kayo.

Jesus fala de acontecimentos futuros
13 Quando Jesus saía do templo, um de seus discípulos disse: “Mestre, olhe que construções magníficas! Que pedras impressionantes!”.
2 Jesus respondeu: “Está vendo estas grandes construções? Serão completamente destruídas. Não restará pedra sobre pedra!”.
3 Mais tarde, Jesus sentou-se no monte das Oliveiras, do outro lado do vale, de frente para o templo. Pedro, Tiago, João e André vieram e lhe perguntaram em particular: 4 “Diga-nos, quando isso tudo vai acontecer? Que sinais indicarão que essas coisas estão prestes a se cumprir?”.
5 Jesus respondeu: “Não deixem que ninguém os engane, 6 pois muitos virão em meu nome, dizendo: ‘Eu sou o Cristo’,[a] e enganarão muitos. 7 Vocês ouvirão falar de guerras e ameaças de guerras, mas não entrem em pânico. Sim, é necessário que essas coisas ocorram, mas ainda não será o fim. 8 Uma nação guerreará contra a outra, e um reino contra o outro. Haverá terremotos em vários lugares, e também fome. Tudo isso, porém, será apenas o começo das dores de parto.
9 “Tenham cuidado! Vocês serão entregues aos tribunais e açoitados nas sinagogas. Por minha causa, serão julgados diante de governadores e reis. Essa será sua oportunidade de lhes falar a meu respeito.[b] 10 É necessário, primeiro, que as boas-novas sejam anunciadas a todas as nações.[c] 11 Quando forem presos e julgados, não se preocupem com o que dirão. Falem apenas o que lhes for concedido naquele momento, pois não serão vocês que falarão, mas o Espírito Santo.
12 “O irmão trairá seu irmão e o entregará à morte, e assim também o pai a seu próprio filho. Os filhos se rebelarão contra os pais e os matarão. 13 Todos os odiarão por minha causa, mas quem se mantiver firme até o fim será salvo.
14 “Chegará o dia em que vocês verão a ‘terrível profanação’[d] no lugar onde não deveria estar. (Leitor, preste atenção!) Então, quem estiver na Judeia, fuja para os montes. 15 Quem estiver na parte de cima da casa, não desça nem entre para pegar coisa alguma. 16 Quem estiver no campo, não volte nem para pegar o manto. 17 Que terríveis serão aqueles dias para as grávidas e para as mães que estiverem amamentando! 18 Orem para que a fuga de vocês não aconteça no inverno, 19 pois haverá mais angústia naqueles dias que em qualquer outra ocasião desde que Deus criou o mundo, e nunca mais haverá angústia tão grande. 20 De fato, se o Senhor não tivesse limitado esse tempo, ninguém sobreviveria, mas, por causa de seus escolhidos, ele limitou aqueles dias.
21 “Portanto, se alguém lhes disser: ‘Vejam, aqui está o Cristo!’ ou ‘Vejam, ali está ele!’, não acreditem, 22 pois falsos cristos e falsos profetas surgirão e realizarão sinais e maravilhas a fim de enganar, se possível, até os escolhidos. 23 Fiquem atentos! Eu os avisei a esse respeito de antemão.
24 “Naquele tempo, depois da angústia daqueles dias,
‘o sol escurecerá,
a lua não dará luz,
25 as estrelas cairão do céu,
e os poderes dos céus serão abalados’.[e]
26 Então todos verão o Filho do Homem vindo nas nuvens com grande poder e glória.[f] 27 Ele enviará seus anjos para reunir seus escolhidos de todas as partes do mundo,[g] das extremidades da terra às extremidades do céu.
28 “Agora, aprendam a lição da figueira. Quando surgem seus ramos e suas folhas começam a brotar, vocês sabem que o verão está próximo. 29 Da mesma forma, quando virem todas essas coisas, saberão que o tempo está muito próximo, à porta. 30 Eu lhes digo a verdade: esta geração[h] certamente não passará até que todas essas coisas tenham acontecido. 31 O céu e a terra desaparecerão, mas as minhas palavras jamais desaparecerão.
32 “Contudo, ninguém sabe o dia nem a hora em que essas coisas acontecerão, nem mesmo os anjos no céu, nem o Filho. Somente o Pai sabe. 33 E, uma vez que vocês não sabem quando virá esse tempo, vigiem! Fiquem atentos![i]
34 “A vinda do Filho do Homem pode ser ilustrada pela história de um homem que partiu numa longa viagem. Quando saiu de casa, deu instruções a cada um de seus servos sobre o que fazer e disse ao porteiro que vigiasse, à espera de sua volta. 35 Vocês também devem vigiar! Pois não sabem quando o dono da casa voltará: à tarde, à meia-noite, de madrugada ou ao amanhecer. 36 Que ele não os encontre dormindo quando chegar sem aviso. 37 Eu lhes digo o que digo a todos: vigiem!”.

The Destruction of the Temple and Signs of the End Times(A)
13 As Jesus was leaving the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Look, Teacher! What massive stones! What magnificent buildings!”
2 “Do you see all these great buildings?” replied Jesus. “Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”(B)
3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives(C) opposite the temple, Peter, James, John(D) and Andrew asked him privately, 4 “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are all about to be fulfilled?”
5 Jesus said to them: “Watch out that no one deceives you.(E) 6 Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many. 7 When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 8 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.
9 “You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues.(F) On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. 11 Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.(G)
12 “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.(H) 13 Everyone will hate you because of me,(I) but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.(J)
14 “When you see ‘the abomination that causes desolation’[a](K) standing where it[b] does not belong—let the reader understand—then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 15 Let no one on the housetop go down or enter the house to take anything out. 16 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 17 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!(L) 18 Pray that this will not take place in winter, 19 because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world,(M) until now—and never to be equaled again.(N)
20 “If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them. 21 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it.(O) 22 For false messiahs and false prophets(P) will appear and perform signs and wonders(Q) to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 23 So be on your guard;(R) I have told you everything ahead of time.
24 “But in those days, following that distress,
“‘the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
25 the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’[c](S)
26 “At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds(T) with great power and glory. 27 And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.(U)
28 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 29 Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it[d] is near, right at the door. 30 Truly I tell you, this generation(V) will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.(W) 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.(X)
The Day and Hour Unknown
32 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.(Y) 33 Be on guard! Be alert[e]!(Z) You do not know when that time will come. 34 It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants(AA) in charge, each with their assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.
35 “Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. 36 If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. 37 What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’”(AB)
