Jesucristo predice la destrucción del templo
13 Cuando salía del templo, le dice uno de sus discípulos: Maestro, mira qué piedras tan enormes y qué construcciones tan magníficas.
2 Jesús le dijo: ¿Ves estas grandiosas construcciones? No quedará ni una piedra sobre otra que no sea totalmente derruida.
Señales antes del fin
3 Y estando él sentado en el monte de los Olivos frente por frente del templo, le preguntaban en privado Pedro, Jacobo, Juan y Andrés:
4 Dinos, ¿cuándo serán estas cosas, y cuál será la señal cuando todas estas cosas estén para cumplirse?
5 Y Jesús comenzó a decirles: Mirad que nadie os engañe.
6 Vendrán muchos usurpando mi nombre, diciendo: Yo soy el Cristo. Y engañarán a muchos.
7 Cuando oigáis de guerras y de rumores de guerras, no os alarméis; tiene que ocurrir, pero todavía no es el fin.
8 Porque se levantará nación contra nación, y reino contra reino. Habrá terremotos en diversos lugares, habrá hambres. Estas cosas son principio de los dolores de alumbramiento.
9 Pero vosotros estad alerta sobre vosotros mismos; os entregarán a los tribunales y seréis azotados en las sinagogas y os harán comparecer ante gobernadores y reyes por causa de mí, para testimonio a ellos.
10 Pero primero debe ser proclamado el evangelio a todas las naciones.
11 Y cuando os conduzcan para entregaros, no os preocupéis de antemano por lo que vais a hablar, sino hablad lo que se os comunique en aquel momento; porque no sois vosotros los que estáis hablando, sino el Espíritu Santo.
12 Y entregará a la muerte hermano a hermano, y padre a hijo; se levantarán hijos contra padres, y los matarán.
13 Seréis aborrecidos de todos por causa de mi nombre; pero el que persevere hasta el final, ése será salvo.
14 Pero cuando veáis la abominación de la desolación [de que habló el profeta Daniel][a] erigida donde no debe (el que esté leyendo, que lo entienda), entonces los que estén en Judea, huyan a los montes;
15 el que esté en la azotea, no baje ni entre a llevarse algo de su casa;
16 y el que haya marchado al campo, no se vuelva atrás para tomar su manto.
17 ¡Ay de las que estén encintas y de las que estén amamantando en aquellos días!
18 Orad para que no suceda en invierno.
19 Porque aquellos días serán una tribulación, tal como no la hubo desde el principio de la creación que Dios hizo hasta ahora, ni la habrá jamás.
20 Y si el Señor no hubiese acortado aquellos días, no se salvaría ninguna vida, pero en atención a los escogidos que él eligió, acortó los días.
21 Entonces, si alguien os dice: Mira, aquí está el Cristo; o: Mira, allí está, no lo creáis.
22 Porque surgirán falsos cristos y falsos profetas y harán señales y prodigios a fin de extraviar, de ser posible, a los elegidos.
23 Vosotros, pues, estad sobre aviso; os lo he dicho todo por anticipado.
La venida del Hijo del Hombre
24 Pero en esos días, después de aquella tribulación, el sol se oscurecerá y la luna no dará su resplandor;
25 las estrellas estarán cayendo del cielo, y los poderes que hay en los cielos serán sacudidos.
26 Y entonces verán al Hijo del Hombre que viene en las nubes con gran poder y gloria.
27 Entonces enviará a los ángeles, y reunirá de los cuatro vientos a sus elegidos, desde el extremo de la tierra hasta el extremo del cielo.
28 De la higuera aprended la parábola: Cuando ya su rama se vuelve tierna y brotan las hojas, conocéis que el verano está cerca.
29 Así también vosotros, cuando veáis que suceden estas cosas, conoced que está cerca, a las puertas.
30 En verdad os digo que de ningún modo pasará esta generación hasta que todas estas cosas sucedan.
31 El cielo y la tierra pasarán, pero mis palabras no pasarán.
32 Pero de aquel día o de aquella hora, nadie sabe, ni los ángeles en el cielo, ni el Hijo, sino sólo el Padre.
33 Estad atentos, velad y orad; porque no sabéis cuándo es el tiempo señalado.
34 Es como un hombre que se fue de viaje y, al dejar su casa, dio atribuciones a sus siervos, a cada uno su tarea, y encargó al portero que velara.
35 Por tanto, velad; porque no sabéis cuándo viene el dueño de la casa, si al atardecer, a la medianoche, al canto del gallo, o de madrugada;
36 no sea que venga de repente y os encuentre durmiendo.
37 Lo que os digo a vosotros, lo digo a todos: Velad.

2 And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,
4 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?
5 And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:
6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
15 And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
16 And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.
17 But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
18 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
21 And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
28 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
29 So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.
30 Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
34 For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age(D)
3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, (E)Peter, (F)James, (G)John, and (H)Andrew asked Him privately, 4 (I)“Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?”
5 And Jesus, answering them, began to say: (J)“Take heed that no one deceives you. 6 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many. 7 But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. 8 For nation will rise against nation, and (K)kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines [a]and troubles. (L)These are the beginnings of [b]sorrows.
9 “But (M)watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will [c]be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. 10 And (N)the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. 11 (O)But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, [d]or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, (P)but the Holy Spirit. 12 Now (Q)brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. 13 (R)And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. The Great Tribulation(T)
14 (U)“So when you see the (V)‘abomination of desolation,’ [f]spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not” (let the reader understand), “then (W)let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 15 Let him who is on the housetop not go down into the house, nor enter to take anything out of his house. 16 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 17 (X)But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 18 And pray that your flight may not be in winter. 19 (Y)For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be. 20 And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days.
21 (Z)“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, He is there!’ do not believe it. 22 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and (AA)wonders to deceive, if possible, even the [g]elect. 23 But (AB)take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.
The Coming of the Son of Man(AC)
24 (AD)“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; 25 the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in the heavens will be (AE)shaken. 26 (AF)Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then He will send His angels, and gather together His [h]elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven.
The Parable of the Fig Tree(AG)
28 (AH)“Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 29 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that [i]it is near—at the doors! 30 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but (AI)My words will by no means pass away.
No One Knows the Day or Hour(AJ)
32 “But of that day and hour (AK)no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the (AL)Father. 33 (AM)Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. 34 (AN)It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave (AO)authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. 35 (AP)Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— 36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”

The Abomination of Desolation

The Lesson of the Fig Tree
28 “From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. 29 So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, (BG)at the very gates. 30 (BH)Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 31 (BI)Heaven and earth will pass away, but (BJ)my words will not pass away.
No One Knows That Day or Hour
