28 At lumapit ang isa sa mga eskriba, at nakarinig ng kanilang pagtatalo, at palibhasa'y nalalamang mabuti ang pagkasagot niya sa kanila, ay tinanong siya, Ano baga ang pangulong utos sa lahat?
29 Sumagot si Jesus, Ang pangulo ay, (A)Pakinggan mo, Oh Israel; Ang Panginoon nating Dios, ang Panginoon ay iisa:
30 At iibigin mo ang Panginoon mong Dios ng buong puso mo, at ng buong kaluluwa mo, at ng buong pagiisip mo, at ng buong lakas mo.

29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
