Ang Matagumpay na Pagpasok sa Jerusalem(A)
11 Narating nina Jesus ang mga bayan ng Bethfage at Bethania, malapit sa may Bundok ng mga Olibo. Nang papalapit na sila sa Jerusalem, pinauna ni Jesus ang dalawa sa mga alagad 2 at sinabi sa kanila, “Pumunta kayo sa susunod na nayon. Pagpasok na pagpasok, makikita ninyo ang isang batang asno na hindi pa nasasakyan ninuman. Kalagan ninyo iyon at dalhin dito. 3 Kapag may nagtanong kung bakit ninyo kinakalagan iyon, sabihin ninyong iyon ay kailangan ng Panginoon[a] at ibabalik din niya agad.”
4 Kaya't lumakad ang dalawang alagad at nakita nga nila ang batang asno sa tabi ng daan, nakatali ito sa may pinto ng isang bahay. Nang kinakalagan na nila ang hayop, 5 tinanong sila ng ilang nakatayo roon, “Bakit ninyo kinakalagan iyan?”
6 Sumagot sila gaya ng bilin ni Jesus, at hinayaan na silang umalis. 7 Dinala nila kay Jesus ang batang asno. Matapos isapin sa likod nito ang kanilang mga balabal ay sumakay si Jesus. 8 Marami ang naglatag ng kanilang mga balabal sa daan, samantalang ang iba nama'y pumutol ng madahong sanga ng kahoy at iyon ang kanilang inilatag sa daan. 9 Ang(B) mga tao sa unahan at sa hulihan ni Jesus ay sumisigaw ng ganito, “Purihin ang Diyos![b] Pinagpala ang dumarating sa pangalan ng Panginoon! 10 Pagpalain ang malapit nang itatatag na kaharian ng ating amang si David! Purihin ang Panginoon sa Kataas-taasan!”
11 Pumunta si Jesus sa Jerusalem at pumasok sa Templo at tiningnan niya ang lahat ng bagay doon. At dahil gumagabi na, lumabas siya at nagbalik sa Bethania na kasama ang Labindalawa.
Sinumpa ang Puno ng Igos(C)
12 Kinabukasan, nang pabalik na sila mula sa Bethania, si Jesus ay nakaramdam ng gutom. 13 Nakita niya sa di-kalayuan ang isang malagong puno ng igos. Nilapitan niya ito upang tingnan kung may bunga. Dahil hindi pa panahon ng igos noon, wala siyang nakita kundi mga dahon lamang. 14 Kaya't sinabi niya sa puno ng igos, “Wala nang makakakain pa ng iyong bunga.” Ang sinabi niyang iyon ay narinig ng kanyang mga alagad.
Pinalayas ang mga Nangangalakal sa Templo(D)
15 Pagdating nila sa Jerusalem, si Jesus ay pumasok sa Templo. Ipinagtabuyan niya ang mga nagbebenta at namimili roon, at ipinagtataob niya ang mga mesa ng mga namamalit ng salapi at ang mga upuan ng mga nagtitinda ng kalapati. 16 Pinagbawalan din niyang tumawid sa patyo ng Templo ang mga may dalang paninda 17 at(E) tinuruan niya ang mga tao nang ganito, “Nasusulat, ‘Ang aking tahanan ay tatawaging bahay-dalanginan ng lahat ng bansa.’ Ngunit ginawa ninyo itong lungga ng mga magnanakaw!”
18 Narinig ito ng mga punong pari at ng mga tagapagturo ng Kautusan. Buhat noo'y humanap na sila ng paraan upang patayin si Jesus. Subalit natatakot sila sa kanya dahil humahanga ang lahat sa kanyang mga turo.
19 Pagsapit ng gabi, si Jesus at ang kanyang mga alagad ay muling lumabas ng lungsod.
Ang Aral Mula sa Puno ng Igos(F)
20 Kinaumagahan, pagdaan nila'y nakita nilang natuyo ang puno ng igos hanggang sa mga ugat nito. 21 Naalala ni Pedro ang nangyari dito kaya't kanyang sinabi kay Jesus, “Guro, tingnan ninyo! Patay na ang puno ng igos na isinumpa ninyo.”
22 Sumagot si Jesus, “Manalig kayo sa Diyos. 23 Tandaan(G) ninyo ito: kung kayo'y nananampalataya sa Diyos at hindi kayo nag-aalinlangan, maaari ninyong sabihin sa bundok na ito, ‘Umalis ka riyan at tumalon ka sa dagat,’ at ito nga ay mangyayari. 24 Kaya't sinasabi ko sa inyo, anuman ang hingin ninyo sa inyong panalangin, maniwala kayong natanggap na ninyo iyon, at matatanggap nga ninyo iyon. 25 Kapag(H) kayo'y tumayo upang manalangin, patawarin muna ninyo ang nagkasala sa inyo upang ang inyong mga kasalanan ay patawarin din ng inyong Ama na nasa langit. [26 Ngunit kung hindi kayo magpapatawad, hindi rin naman kayo patatawarin ng inyong Ama na nasa langit.][c]”
Pag-aalinlangan tungkol sa Karapatan ni Jesus(I)
27 Muli silang pumasok sa Jerusalem. Habang si Jesus ay naglalakad sa patyo ng Templo, nilapitan siya ng mga punong pari, ng mga tagapagturo ng Kautusan at ng mga pinuno ng bayan. 28 Siya'y tinanong nila, “Ano ang karapatan mong gumawa ng mga bagay na ito? Sino ang nagbigay sa iyo ng ganyang karapatan?”
29 Sumagot si Jesus, “Tatanungin ko kayo. Sagutin ninyo ito at sasabihin ko sa inyo kung kanino galing ang karapatan kong gumawa ng mga bagay na ito. 30 Sabihin ninyo sa akin, kanino galing ang karapatan ni Juan na magbautismo: sa Diyos ba o sa mga tao?”
31 At sila'y nag-usap-usap, “Kung sasabihin nating galing sa Diyos, itatanong naman niya sa atin kung bakit hindi natin pinaniwalaan si Juan. 32 Ngunit kung sasabihin naman nating galing sa tao, baka kung ano naman ang gawin sa atin ng mga tao.” Nangangamba sila sapagkat naniniwala ang marami na si Juan ay isang tunay na propeta. 33 Kaya't ganito ang kanilang isinagot: “Hindi namin alam.”
“Kung gayon, hindi ko rin sasabihin sa inyo kung kanino galing ang karapatan kong gawin ang mga ito,” tugon ni Jesus sa kanila.

La entrada triunfal
11 (A)Cuando se acercaban* a Jerusalén, por Betfagé y Betania(B), cerca del monte de los Olivos(C), Jesús envió* a dos de Sus discípulos, 2 y les dijo*: «Vayan a la aldea enfrente de ustedes, y tan pronto como entren en ella, encontrarán un pollino atado en el cual nadie[a]se ha montado todavía; desátenlo y tráiganlo. 3 Si alguien les dice: “¿Por qué hacen eso?” digan: “El Señor lo necesita”; y enseguida lo devolverá[b]acá».
4 Ellos fueron y encontraron un pollino atado junto a la puerta, afuera en la calle, y lo desataron*. 5 Y algunos de los que estaban allí les dijeron[c]: «¿Qué hacen desatando el pollino?». 6 Ellos les respondieron tal como Jesús les había dicho, y les dieron permiso. 7 (D)Entonces trajeron* el pollino a Jesús y echaron encima sus mantos, y Él se sentó sobre él.
8 Muchos tendieron sus mantos en el camino, y otros tendieron ramas que habían cortado de los campos. 9 Los que iban delante y los que lo seguían, gritaban:
«¡Hosanna!
Bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor(E);
10 Bendito el reino de nuestro padre David que viene;
¡Hosanna en las alturas(F)!».
11 Jesús entró en Jerusalén, fue al templo(G), y después de mirar todo alrededor, salió para Betania(H) con los doce discípulos, siendo ya avanzada la hora.
La higuera estéril
12 (I)Al día siguiente, cuando salieron de Betania, Jesús tuvo hambre. 13 Y viendo de lejos una higuera con hojas, fue a ver si quizá pudiera hallar algo en ella; cuando llegó a ella, no encontró más que hojas, porque no era tiempo de higos. 14 Jesús, hablando[d] a la higuera, le dijo: «Nunca jamás coma nadie fruto de ti». Y Sus discípulos le estaban escuchando.
Jesús echa a los mercaderes del templo
15 (J)Llegaron* a Jerusalén; y entrando Jesús en el templo, comenzó a echar fuera a los que vendían y compraban en el templo; volcó las mesas de los que cambiaban el dinero y los asientos de los que vendían las palomas, 16 y no permitía que nadie transportara objeto alguno a través del templo. 17 Y les enseñaba, diciendo[e]: «¿No está escrito: “Mi casa será llamada casa de oración para todas las naciones(K)”? Pero ustedes la han hecho cueva de ladrones(L)». 18 Los principales sacerdotes y los escribas oyeron esto y buscaban cómo destruir a Jesús(M), pero le tenían miedo, pues toda la multitud estaba admirada de Su enseñanza(N).
19 Cuando atardecía, Jesús y Sus discípulos solían salir fuera de la ciudad(O).
El poder de la fe
20 (P)Por la mañana, cuando pasaban, vieron la higuera seca desde las raíces. 21 Entonces Pedro, acordándose, dijo* a Jesús: «Rabí[f](Q), mira, la higuera que maldijiste se ha secado». 22 Y Jesús respondió*: «Tengan fe en Dios(R). 23 En verdad les digo que cualquiera que diga a este monte(S): “Quítate y arrójate al mar”, y no dude en su corazón, sino crea que lo que dice va a suceder, le será concedido. 24 Por eso les digo que todas las cosas por las que oren y pidan, crean que ya las han recibido, y les serán concedidas(T). 25 Y cuando estén[g]orando(U), perdonen si tienen algo contra alguien, para que también su Padre que está en los cielos les perdone a ustedes sus transgresiones(V). 26 [h]Pero si ustedes no perdonan, tampoco su Padre que está en los cielos perdonará sus transgresiones(W)».
La autoridad de Jesús puesta en duda
27 Llegaron* de nuevo a Jerusalén; (X)y cuando Jesús andaba por el templo, se acercaron* a Él los principales sacerdotes, los escribas y los ancianos, 28 y le preguntaron: «¿Con qué autoridad haces estas cosas, o quién te dio la autoridad para hacer esto?». 29 Jesús les respondió: «Yo también les haré una pregunta[i]; respóndanla, y entonces les diré con qué autoridad hago estas cosas. 30 El bautismo de Juan, ¿era del cielo o de los hombres? Respondan».
31 Y ellos discutían entre sí, diciendo: «Si decimos: “Del cielo”, Él dirá: “Entonces, ¿por qué no le creyeron?”. 32 ¿Pero si decimos: “De los hombres”?». Pero temían a la multitud, porque todos consideraban que Juan verdaderamente había sido un profeta. 33 Respondiendo a Jesús, dijeron*: «No sabemos». Jesús les dijo*: «Tampoco Yo les diré[j]con qué autoridad hago estas cosas».

11 Cuando se acercaban a Jerusalén y llegaron a Betfagué y a Betania, junto al monte de los Olivos, Jesús envió a dos de sus discípulos 2 con este encargo: «Vayan a la aldea que tienen enfrente. Tan pronto como entren en ella, encontrarán atado un burrito, en el que nunca se ha montado nadie. Desátenlo y tráiganlo acá. 3 Y si alguien pregunta: “¿Por qué hacen eso?”, díganle: “El Señor lo necesita y enseguida lo devolverá”».
4 Fueron, encontraron un burrito afuera, en la calle, atado a un portón y lo desataron. 5 Entonces algunos de los que estaban allí preguntaron: «¿Qué hacen desatando el burrito?». 6 Ellos contestaron como Jesús había dicho y dejaron que lo desatara. 7 Llevaron, pues, el burrito a Jesús. Luego pusieron encima sus mantos y él se montó. 8 Muchos tendieron sus mantos sobre el camino; otros usaron ramas que habían cortado en los campos. 9 Tanto los que iban delante como los que iban detrás gritaban:
—¡Hosanna![a]
—¡Bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor![b]
10 —¡Bendito el reino venidero de nuestro padre David!
—¡Hosanna en las alturas!
11 Jesús entró en Jerusalén y fue al Templo. Después de observarlo todo, como ya era tarde, salió para Betania con los doce.
Jesús purifica el Templo(C)(D)
12 Al día siguiente, cuando salían de Betania, Jesús tuvo hambre. 13 Viendo a lo lejos una higuera que tenía hojas, fue a ver si hallaba algún fruto. Cuando llegó a ella solo encontró hojas, porque no era tiempo de higos. 14 «¡Nadie vuelva jamás a comer fruto de ti!», dijo a la higuera. Y lo oyeron sus discípulos.
15 Llegaron, pues, a Jerusalén. Jesús entró en el Templo[c] y comenzó a echar de allí a los que compraban y vendían. Volcó las mesas de los que cambiaban dinero y los puestos de los que vendían palomas, 16 y no permitía que nadie atravesara el Templo llevando mercancías. 17 También les enseñaba con estas palabras: «¿No está escrito:
»“Mi casa será llamada
casa de oración para todos los pueblos”?[d]
Pero ustedes la han convertido en “cueva de ladrones”».[e]
18 Los jefes de los sacerdotes y los maestros de la Ley lo oyeron y comenzaron a buscar la manera de matarlo, pues le temían, ya que toda la gente se maravillaba de sus enseñanzas.
19 Cuando cayó la tarde, salieron[f] de la ciudad.
La higuera seca(E)
20 Por la mañana, al pasar junto a la higuera, vieron que se había secado de raíz. 21 Pedro, acordándose, dijo a Jesús:
—¡Rabí, mira, se ha secado la higuera que maldijiste!
22 —Tengan fe en Dios —respondió Jesús—. 23 Les aseguro[g] que si alguno dice a este monte: “Quítate de ahí y tírate al mar”, creyendo, sin abrigar la menor duda en el corazón de que lo que dice sucederá, lo obtendrá. 24 Por eso les digo: Crean que ya han recibido todo lo que estén pidiendo en oración y lo obtendrán. 25 Y cuando estén orando, si tienen algo contra alguien, perdónenlo, para que también su Padre que está en el cielo perdone a ustedes sus ofensas. 26 [h]
La autoridad de Jesús puesta en duda(F)
27 Llegaron de nuevo a Jerusalén y, mientras Jesús andaba por el Templo, se acercaron los jefes de los sacerdotes, los maestros de la Ley y los líderes religiosos.
28 —¿Con qué autoridad haces esto? —lo interrogaron—. ¿Quién te dio autoridad para actuar así?
29 —Yo voy a hacerles una pregunta a ustedes —respondió él—. Contéstenmela y les diré con qué autoridad hago esto: 30 El bautismo de Juan, ¿procedía del cielo o de los hombres? Respóndanme.
31 Ellos comenzaron a discutir entre sí: «Si respondemos “del cielo”, nos dirá “entonces, ¿por qué no le creyeron?”. 32 Pero si decimos “de los hombres…”». Es que temían al pueblo, porque todos consideraban que Juan era realmente un profeta. 33 Así que respondieron a Jesús:
—No lo sabemos.
Jesús dijo:
—Pues yo tampoco les voy a decir con qué autoridad hago esto.

Jesus Comes to Jerusalem as King(A)(B)
11 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany(C) at the Mount of Olives,(D) Jesus sent two of his disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden.(E) Untie it and bring it here. 3 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.’”
4 They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway.(F) As they untied it, 5 some people standing there asked, “What are you doing, untying that colt?” 6 They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go. 7 When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it. 8 Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. 9 Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted,
“Hosanna![a]”
10 “Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!”
“Hosanna in the highest heaven!”(H)
11 Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.(I)
Jesus Curses a Fig Tree and Clears the Temple Courts(J)(K)(L)
12 The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. 13 Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs.(M) 14 Then he said to the tree, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard him say it.
15 On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, 16 and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. 17 And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’[c]?(N) But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’[d]”(O)
18 The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him,(P) because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.(Q)
19 When evening came, Jesus and his disciples[e] went out of the city.(R)
20 In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. 21 Peter remembered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi,(S) look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!”
22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly[f] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.(T) 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.(U) 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”(V) [26] [g]
The Authority of Jesus Questioned(W)
27 They arrived again in Jerusalem, and while Jesus was walking in the temple courts, the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders came to him. 28 “By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave you authority to do this?”
29 Jesus replied, “I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things. 30 John’s baptism—was it from heaven, or of human origin? Tell me!”
31 They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’ 32 But if we say, ‘Of human origin’ …” (They feared the people, for everyone held that John really was a prophet.)(X)
33 So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.”
Jesus said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”
