A mensagem de João Batista(A)
1 A boa notícia que fala a respeito de Jesus Cristo, Filho de Deus, começou a ser dada 2 como o profeta Isaías tinha escrito. Ele escreveu o seguinte:
“Deus disse:
Eu enviarei o meu mensageiro
adiante de você
para preparar o seu caminho.”
3 E o profeta escreveu também:
“Alguém está gritando no deserto:
Preparem o caminho para o Senhor passar!
Abram estradas retas para ele!”
4 E foi assim que João Batista apareceu no deserto, batizando o povo e anunciando esta mensagem:
— Arrependam-se dos seus pecados e sejam batizados, que Deus perdoará vocês.
5 Muitos moradores da região da Judeia e da cidade de Jerusalém iam ouvir João. Eles confessavam os seus pecados, e João os batizava no rio Jordão. 6 Ele usava uma roupa feita de pelos de camelo e um cinto de couro e comia gafanhotos e mel do mato. 7 Ele dizia ao povo:
— Depois de mim vem alguém que é mais importante do que eu, e eu não mereço a honra de me abaixar e desamarrar as correias das sandálias dele. 8 Eu batizo vocês com água, mas ele os batizará com o Espírito Santo.
O batismo de Jesus(B)
9 Nessa ocasião Jesus veio de Nazaré, uma pequena cidade da região da Galileia, e foi batizado por João Batista no rio Jordão. 10 No momento em que estava saindo da água, Jesus viu o céu se abrir e o Espírito de Deus descer como uma pomba sobre ele. 11 E do céu veio uma voz, que disse:
— Tu és o meu Filho querido e me dás muita alegria.
A tentação de Jesus(C)
12 Logo depois o Espírito Santo fez com que Jesus fosse para o deserto. 13 Jesus ficou lá durante quarenta dias, sendo tentado por Satanás. Ali havia animais selvagens, e os anjos cuidavam de Jesus.
Jesus começa o seu trabalho na Galileia(D)
14 Depois que João foi preso, Jesus seguiu para a região da Galileia e ali anunciava a boa notícia que vem de Deus. 15 Ele dizia:
— Chegou a hora, e o Reino de Deus está perto. Arrependam-se dos seus pecados e creiam no evangelho.
16 Jesus estava andando pela beira do lago da Galileia quando viu dois pescadores. Eram Simão e o seu irmão André, que estavam no lago, pescando com redes. 17 Jesus lhes disse:
— Venham comigo, que eu ensinarei vocês a pescar gente.
18 Então eles largaram logo as redes e foram com Jesus.
19 Um pouco mais adiante Jesus viu outros dois irmãos. Eram Tiago e João, filhos de Zebedeu, que estavam no barco deles, consertando as redes. 20 Jesus chamou os dois, e eles deixaram Zebedeu, o seu pai, e os empregados no barco e foram com ele.
Um homem dominado por um espírito mau(E)
21 Jesus e os discípulos chegaram à cidade de Cafarnaum, e, no sábado, ele foi ensinar na sinagoga. 22 As pessoas que o escutavam ficaram muito admiradas com a sua maneira de ensinar. É que Jesus ensinava com a autoridade dele mesmo e não como os mestres da Lei. 23 Então chegou ali um homem que estava dominado por um espírito mau. O homem gritou:
24 — O que quer de nós, Jesus de Nazaré? Você veio para nos destruir? Sei muito bem quem é você: é o Santo que Deus enviou!
25 Então Jesus ordenou ao espírito mau:
— Cale a boca e saia desse homem!
26 Aí o espírito sacudiu o homem com violência e, dando um grito, saiu dele. 27 Todos ficaram espantados e diziam uns para os outros:
— Que quer dizer isso? É um novo ensinamento dado com autoridade. Ele manda até nos espíritos maus, e eles obedecem.
28 E a fama de Jesus se espalhou depressa por toda a região da Galileia.
Jesus cura a sogra de Pedro(F)
29 Logo depois, Jesus, Simão, André, Tiago e João saíram da sinagoga e foram até a casa de Simão e de André. 30 A sogra de Simão estava de cama, com febre. Assim que Jesus chegou, contaram a ele que ela estava doente. 31 Ele chegou perto dela, segurou a mão dela e ajudou-a a se levantar. A febre saiu da mulher, e ela começou a cuidar deles.
Jesus cura muita gente(G)
32 À tarde, depois do pôr do sol, levaram até Jesus todos os doentes e as pessoas que estavam dominadas por demônios. 33 Todo o povo da cidade se reuniu em frente da casa. 34 Jesus curou muitas pessoas de todo tipo de doenças e expulsou muitos demônios. Ele não deixava que os demônios falassem, pois eles sabiam quem Jesus era.
Jesus anuncia o evangelho na Galileia(H)
35 De manhã bem cedo, quando ainda estava escuro, Jesus se levantou, saiu da cidade, foi para um lugar deserto e ficou ali orando. 36 Simão e os seus companheiros procuraram Jesus por toda parte. 37 Quando o encontraram, disseram:
— Todos estão procurando o senhor.
38 Jesus respondeu:
— Vamos aos povoados que ficam perto daqui, para que eu possa anunciar o evangelho ali também, pois foi para isso que eu vim.
39 Jesus andava por toda a Galileia, anunciando o evangelho nas sinagogas e expulsando demônios.
Jesus cura um leproso(I)
40 Um leproso chegou perto de Jesus, ajoelhou-se e disse:
— Senhor, eu sei que o senhor pode me curar se quiser.
41 Jesus ficou com muita pena dele, tocou nele e disse:
— Sim! Eu quero. Você está curado.
42 No mesmo instante a lepra desapareceu, e ele ficou curado.
43-44 E Jesus ordenou duramente:
— Olhe! Não conte isso para ninguém, mas vá pedir ao sacerdote que examine você. Depois, a fim de provar para todos que você está curado, vá oferecer o sacrifício que Moisés ordenou.
Então Jesus o mandou embora. 45 Mas o homem começou a falar muito e espalhou a notícia. Por isso Jesus não podia mais entrar abertamente em qualquer cidade, mas ficava fora, em lugares desertos. E gente de toda parte vinha procurá-lo.

A mensagem de João Batista
(Mt 3.12; Lc 3.1-9,15-17; Jo 1.19-28)
1 Isto é o princípio das Boas Novas a respeito de Jesus Cristo, o Filho de Deus[a], 2 assim como está escrito no livro do profeta Isaías:
“Olhem, eu estou enviando o meu mensageiro antes de você.
Ele vai preparar o seu caminho.(A)
3 Escute a voz daquele que clama no deserto:
Preparem o caminho para o Senhor,
e abram estradas retas para ele passar”.(B)
4 E foi assim que João Batista apareceu no deserto, anunciando a mensagem de Deus. Ele falava para as pessoas se batizarem. De esta forma, elas iriam mostrar que queriam mudar o seu comportamento, e então os seus pecados iriam ser perdoados. 5 Todas as pessoas tanto da região da Judeia como da cidade de Jerusalém iam até ele. Elas confessavam os seus pecados e eram batizadas por João no rio Jordão. 6 João usava roupas feitas de pelo de camelo e um cinto de couro amarrado na cintura. Ele se alimentava com gafanhotos e mel silvestre. 7 Ele dizia:
—Depois de mim virá alguém que é mais poderoso do que eu e eu não sou digno sequer de me abaixar para desamarrar as correias das suas sandálias. 8 Eu os batizo com água, mas ele os batizará com o Espírito Santo.
O batismo de Jesus
(Mt 3.13-17; Lc 3.21-22)
9 Naquela época Jesus veio de uma cidade da Galileia chamada Nazaré e foi batizado por João Batista no rio Jordão. 10 Assim que saiu da água, Jesus viu o céu se abrir e o Espírito descer sobre ele como uma pomba. 11 E ouviu uma voz vinda do céu que disse:
—Você é o meu Filho querido e me dá muita alegria.
A tentação de Jesus
(Mt 4.1-11; Lc 4.1-13)
12 Logo depois o Espírito Santo levou Jesus ao deserto, 13 onde ele foi tentado por Satanás durante quarenta dias. Ele esteve até mesmo com animais selvagens, mas anjos cuidaram dele.
Jesus começa o seu trabalho na Galileia
(Mt 4.12-17; Lc 4.14-15)
14 Depois de João ter sido preso, Jesus foi para a Galileia, anunciando as Boas Novas de Deus. 15 Ele dizia:
—Chegou a hora! O reino de Deus está próximo. Mudem a sua forma de pensar e de viver, e acreditem nas Boas Novas.
Os primeiros discípulos
(Mt 4.18-22; Lc 5.1-11)
16 Jesus estava andando pela beira do lago da Galileia quando viu Simão Pedro e seu irmão, André. Eles estavam jogando a rede[b] no lago, pois eram pescadores. 17 Jesus lhes disse:
—Sigam-me e eu tornarei vocês em pescadores de pessoas.
18 E eles deixaram as suas redes naquele momento e o seguiram.
19 Jesus continuou caminhando e encontrou outros dois irmãos: Tiago e João, filhos de Zebedeu. Eles estavam no barco consertando as suas redes. 20 Jesus os chamou e eles o seguiram, deixando seu pai Zebedeu no barco com os empregados.
Jesus expulsa um demônio
(Lc 4.31-37)
21 Eles foram para a cidade de Cafarnaum. No sábado seguinte Jesus foi para a sinagoga e começou a ensinar o povo. 22 Todos ficaram admirados com o ensino de Jesus, pois ele ensinava como quem tem autoridade, e não como os mestres da lei. 23 Havia na sinagoga um homem que estava possuído por um demônio e, de repente, ele começou a gritar, dizendo:
24 —O que você quer de nós, Jesus de Nazaré? Você veio para nos destruir? Eu sei que você é o Santo de Deus.
25 Mas Jesus o repreendeu, dizendo:
—Cale-se e saia desse homem.
26 Então o demônio sacudiu o homem várias vezes e, dando um grito bem alto, saiu dele. 27 Todos ficaram impressionados e perguntavam uns aos outros:
—O que é isso? Que tipo de ensino novo é esse? Vocês viram com que autoridade ele dá ordens até mesmo a demônios e eles lhe obedecem?
28 E a fama de Jesus se espalhou rapidamente por toda a região da Galileia.
Jesus cura a sogra de Pedro
(Mt 8.14-15; Lc 4.38-39)
29 Depois de terem saído da sinagoga, eles foram diretamente para a casa de Simão e André, juntamente com Tiago e João. 30 A sogra de Simão estava de cama, com febre, e assim que Jesus chegou, eles lhe contaram a respeito dela. 31 Jesus se aproximou e, tendo pego a mão dela, a levantou. No mesmo momento a febre a deixou e ela começou a servi-los.
Jesus cura muitas pessoas
(Mt 8.16-17; Lc 4.40-41)
32 No fim da tarde, ao pôr do sol,[c] as pessoas levaram todos os doentes e todos os que estavam possuídos por demônios até Jesus. 33 E toda a cidade se juntou na porta daquela casa. 34 Jesus curou muitas pessoas, as quais sofriam de vários tipos de doenças. Ele também expulsou muitos demônios, não permitindo, porém, que eles falassem, pois sabiam quem ele era.[d]
Jesus vai para outras cidades
(Lc 4.42-44)
35 De manhã bem cedo, quando ainda estava escuro, Jesus se levantou e foi para um lugar solitário, e ali orou. 36 Pedro e todos os que estavam com ele foram à sua procura e, 37 encontrando-o, lhe disseram:
—Todo mundo está à sua procura.
38 Mas Jesus lhes disse:
—Vamos partir para as cidades próximas para que eu possa anunciar as Boas Novas lá também, pois foi para isso que eu vim.
39 E Jesus viajou por toda a região da Galileia, anunciando as Boas Novas nas sinagogas e expulsando demônios.
Jesus cura um homem com lepra
(Mt 8.1-4; Lc 5.12-16)
40 Um homem com lepra se aproximou de Jesus e se ajoelhou diante dele. Então lhe disse:
—Eu sei que o senhor pode me curar se quiser.
41 No princípio, Jesus ficou irado.[e] Mas estendendo a sua mão, tocou nele e disse:
—Eu quero; fique curado.
42 No mesmo instante a lepra o deixou e o homem ficou curado. 43 Jesus disse então a ele que podia ir embora, mas antes disso fez uma advertência muito séria, 44 dizendo:
—Não diga nada disto a ninguém, mas apresente-se ao sacerdote.[f] Depois ofereça o sacrifício que a lei de Moisés manda[g] que seja oferecido pela sua cura. Faça isso para provar que está curado.
45 O homem foi embora, mas começou a contar a todo mundo sobre o que lhe tinha acontecido. Por causa disso Jesus não pôde mais entrar em nenhuma cidade abertamente. Ele passou a viver em lugares isolados; mas, mesmo assim, pessoas de todas as partes iam até ele.

- 1.16 rede Esta rede era pequena e redonda com pesos ao redor das pontas. Assim era possível pegar os peixes quando a rede fosse lançada sobre eles.

1 The beginning of the Good News of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
2 As it is written in the prophets,
“Behold,[a] I send my messenger before your face,
who will prepare your way before you:(A)
3 the voice of one crying in the wilderness,
‘Make ready the way of the Lord!
Make his paths straight!’”(B)
4 John came baptizing[b] in the wilderness and preaching the baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins. 5 All the country of Judea and all those of Jerusalem went out to him. They were baptized by him in the Jordan river, confessing their sins. 6 John was clothed with camel’s hair and a leather belt around his waist. He ate locusts and wild honey. 7 He preached, saying, “After me comes he who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and loosen. 8 I baptized you in[c] water, but he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.”
9 In those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 Immediately coming up from the water, he saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. 11 A voice came out of the sky, “You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
12 Immediately the Spirit drove him out into the wilderness. 13 He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals; and the angels were serving him.
14 Now after John was taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Good News of God’s Kingdom, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and God’s Kingdom is at hand! Repent, and believe in the Good News.”
16 Passing along by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 17 Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you into fishers for men.”
18 Immediately they left their nets, and followed him.
19 Going on a little further from there, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets. 20 Immediately he called them, and they left their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.
21 They went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught. 22 They were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes. 23 Immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out, 24 saying, “Ha! What do we have to do with you, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are: the Holy One of God!”
25 Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!”
26 The unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him. 27 They were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!” 28 The report of him went out immediately everywhere into all the region of Galilee and its surrounding area.
29 Immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 30 Now Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and immediately they told him about her. 31 He came and took her by the hand and raised her up. The fever left her immediately,[d] and she served them.
32 At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all who were sick and those who were possessed by demons. 33 All the city was gathered together at the door. 34 He healed many who were sick with various diseases and cast out many demons. He didn’t allow the demons to speak, because they knew him.
35 Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there. 36 Simon and those who were with him searched for him. 37 They found him and told him, “Everyone is looking for you.”
38 He said to them, “Let’s go elsewhere into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because I came out for this reason.” 39 He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out demons.
40 A leper came to him, begging him, kneeling down to him, and saying to him, “If you want to, you can make me clean.”
41 Being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, “I want to. Be made clean.” 42 When he had said this, immediately the leprosy departed from him and he was made clean. 43 He strictly warned him and immediately sent him out, 44 and said to him, “See that you say nothing to anybody, but go show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing the things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”
45 But he went out, and began to proclaim it much, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city, but was outside in desert places. People came to him from everywhere.

33 And all the city was gathered together at the door.
34 And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.

43 And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;
44 And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
45 But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.
