Parabola dei vignaioli omicidi
12 Gesù si mise a parlare loro in parabole: «Un uomo piantò una vigna, vi pose attorno una siepe, scavò un torchio, costruì una torre, poi la diede in affitto a dei vignaioli e se ne andò lontano. 2 A suo tempo inviò un servo a ritirare da quei vignaioli i frutti della vigna. 3 Ma essi, afferratolo, lo bastonarono e lo rimandarono a mani vuote. 4 Inviò loro di nuovo un altro servo: anche quello lo picchiarono sulla testa e lo coprirono di insulti. 5 Ne inviò ancora un altro, e questo lo uccisero; e di molti altri, che egli ancora mandò, alcuni li bastonarono, altri li uccisero. 6 Aveva ancora uno, il figlio prediletto: lo inviò loro per ultimo, dicendo: Avranno rispetto per mio figlio! 7 Ma quei vignaioli dissero tra di loro: Questi è l'erede; su, uccidiamolo e l'eredità sarà nostra. 8 E afferratolo, lo uccisero e lo gettarono fuori della vigna. 9 Che cosa farà dunque il padrone della vigna? Verrà e sterminerà quei vignaioli e darà la vigna ad altri. 10 Non avete forse letto questa Scrittura:
La pietra che i costruttori hanno scartata
è diventata testata d'angolo;
11 dal Signore è stato fatto questo
ed è mirabile agli occhi nostri»?
12 Allora cercarono di catturarlo, ma ebbero paura della folla; avevano capito infatti che aveva detto quella parabola contro di loro. E, lasciatolo, se ne andarono.
Il tributo a Cesare
13 Gli mandarono però alcuni farisei ed erodiani per coglierlo in fallo nel discorso. 14 E venuti, quelli gli dissero: «Maestro, sappiamo che sei veritiero e non ti curi di nessuno; infatti non guardi in faccia agli uomini, ma secondo verità insegni la via di Dio. E' lecito o no dare il tributo a Cesare? Lo dobbiamo dare o no?». 15 Ma egli, conoscendo la loro ipocrisia, disse: «Perché mi tentate? Portatemi un denaro perché io lo veda». 16 Ed essi glielo portarono. Allora disse loro: «Di chi è questa immagine e l'iscrizione?». Gli risposero: «Di Cesare». 17 Gesù disse loro: «Rendete a Cesare ciò che è di Cesare e a Dio ciò che è di Dio». E rimasero ammirati di lui.
La risurrezione dei morti
18 Vennero a lui dei sadducei, i quali dicono che non c'è risurrezione, e lo interrogarono dicendo: 19 «Maestro, Mosè ci ha lasciato scritto che se muore il fratello di uno e lascia la moglie senza figli, il fratello ne prenda la moglie per dare discendenti al fratello. 20 C'erano sette fratelli: il primo prese moglie e morì senza lasciare discendenza; 21 allora la prese il secondo, ma morì senza lasciare discendenza; e il terzo egualmente, 22 e nessuno dei sette lasciò discendenza. Infine, dopo tutti, morì anche la donna. 23 Nella risurrezione, quando risorgeranno, a chi di loro apparterrà la donna? Poiché in sette l'hanno avuta come moglie». 24 Rispose loro Gesù: «Non siete voi forse in errore dal momento che non conoscete le Scritture, né la potenza di Dio? 25 Quando risusciteranno dai morti, infatti, non prenderanno moglie né marito, ma saranno come angeli nei cieli. 26 A riguardo poi dei morti che devono risorgere, non avete letto nel libro di Mosè, a proposito del roveto, come Dio gli parlò dicendo: Io sono il Dio di Abramo, il Dio di Isacco e di Giacobbe? 27 Non è un Dio dei morti ma dei viventi! Voi siete in grande errore».
Il primo comandamento
28 Allora si accostò uno degli scribi che li aveva uditi discutere, e, visto come aveva loro ben risposto, gli domandò: «Qual è il primo di tutti i comandamenti?». 29 Gesù rispose: «Il primo è: Ascolta, Israele. Il Signore Dio nostro è l'unico Signore; 30 amerai dunque il Signore Dio tuo con tutto il tuo cuore, con tutta la tua mente e con tutta la tua forza. 31 E il secondo è questo: Amerai il prossimo tuo come te stesso. Non c'è altro comandamento più importante di questi». 32 Allora lo scriba gli disse: «Hai detto bene, Maestro, e secondo verità che Egli è unico e non v'è altri all'infuori di lui; 33 amarlo con tutto il cuore, con tutta la mente e con tutta la forza e amare il prossimo come se stesso val più di tutti gli olocausti e i sacrifici». 34 Gesù, vedendo che aveva risposto saggiamente, gli disse: «Non sei lontano dal regno di Dio». E nessuno aveva più il coraggio di interrogarlo.
Il Cristo, figlio e Signore di Davide
35 Gesù continuava a parlare, insegnando nel tempio: «Come mai dicono gli scribi che il Messia è figlio di Davide? 36 Davide stesso infatti ha detto, mosso dallo Spirito Santo:
Disse il Signore al mio Signore:
Siedi alla mia destra,
finché io ponga i tuoi nemici
come sgabello ai tuoi piedi.
37 Davide stesso lo chiama Signore: come dunque può essere suo figlio?». E la numerosa folla lo ascoltava volentieri.
Gli scribi giudicati da Gesù
38 Diceva loro mentre insegnava: «Guardatevi dagli scribi, che amano passeggiare in lunghe vesti, ricevere saluti nelle piazze, 39 avere i primi seggi nelle sinagoghe e i primi posti nei banchetti. 40 Divorano le case delle vedove e ostentano di fare lunghe preghiere; essi riceveranno una condanna più grave».
L'obolo della vedova
41 E sedutosi di fronte al tesoro, osservava come la folla gettava monete nel tesoro. E tanti ricchi ne gettavano molte. 42 Ma venuta una povera vedova vi gettò due spiccioli, cioè un quattrino. 43 Allora, chiamati a sé i discepoli, disse loro: «In verità vi dico: questa vedova ha gettato nel tesoro più di tutti gli altri. 44 Poiché tutti hanno dato del loro superfluo, essa invece, nella sua povertà, vi ha messo tutto quello che aveva, tutto quanto aveva per vivere».

12 И Он стал говорить с ними притчами.
– Один человек посадил виноградник, обнёс его забором, выкопал яму для давильни[a] и построил сторожевую башню.[b] Он отдал виноградник внаём виноградарям, а сам уехал в далёкую страну. 2 Когда пришло время, он послал раба к виноградарям, чтобы тот забрал у них причитающуюся ему часть урожая. 3 Но виноградари схватили раба, избили и отослали с пустыми руками. 4 Тогда хозяин послал к ним другого раба; но они разбили ему голову и издевались над ним. 5 Хозяин послал ещё одного раба; его виноградари убили. Он посылал ещё многих рабов, но виноградари одних избивали, других убивали. 6 В конце концов у хозяина остался только его единственный любимый сын. Он послал его к ним последним. «Сына-то моего они устыдятся», – думал он. 7 Но виноградари сказали друг другу: «Это наследник. Давайте убьём его, и наследство будет нашим». 8 Они схватили его, убили и выбросили его из виноградника. 9 Что же сделает хозяин виноградника? Конечно же, он придёт и убьёт виноградарей, а виноградник отдаст другим. 10 Разве вы не читали в Писании:
«Камень, который отвергли строители,
стал краеугольным.
11 Это совершил Вечный,
и как это удивительно для нас!»[c]
12 Когда предводители народа поняли, что эту притчу Иса рассказал о них, они хотели арестовать Его, но побоялись народа. Поэтому они оставили Его и ушли.
Вопрос об уплате налогов(B)
13 Потом они подослали к Исе блюстителей Закона и сторонников правителя Ирода, чтобы те поймали Его на слове. 14 Подойдя к Исе, они сказали:
– Учитель! Мы знаем, что Ты Человек честный и не стремишься никому угодить. Ты беспристрастен и истинно учишь пути Аллаха. Следует ли платить налог римскому императору или нет? Платить нам или не платить?
15 Иса, зная их лицемерие, сказал:
– Вы хотите поймать Меня на слове? Принесите Мне посмотреть серебряную монету[d].
16 Ему принесли монету, и Он спросил:
– Кто на ней изображён и чьё на ней имя?
– Императора, – ответили они.
17 – Отдавайте императору то, что принадлежит императору, а Аллаху – то, что принадлежит Аллаху, – сказал им Иса. Они были поражены Его ответом.
Вопрос о воскресении мёртвых(C)
18 К Исе подошли саддукеи[e], которые утверждают, что нет воскресения мёртвых. Они спросили Его:
19 – Учитель, Муса написал, что если у кого-либо умрёт брат, оставив жену, но не оставив детей, то он должен жениться на вдове и восстановить род своему брату.[f] 20 Было семеро братьев. Первый женился и умер, не оставив потомства. 21 На вдове женился его брат и тоже умер, не оставив потомства. То же самое произошло и с третьим. 22 Брали её за себя все семеро, и никто из них не оставил после себя детей. После всех умерла и женщина. 23 Чьей женой будет эта женщина после воскресения? Ведь все семеро были женаты на ней.
24 Иса ответил им:
– Не потому ли вы заблуждаетесь, что не знаете ни Писания, ни силы Аллаха? 25 Воскресшие из мёртвых не будут ни жениться, ни выходить замуж, а будут как ангелы на небесах. 26 А о том, что мёртвые воскресают, разве вы не читали в Таурате, в книге Мусы, историю о терновом кусте? Там Аллах сказал Мусе: «Я – Бог Ибрахима, Бог Исхака и Бог Якуба»[g]. 27 Он Бог не мёртвых, а живых. Вы глубоко заблуждаетесь.
Самое важное повеление(D)
28 Один из учителей Таурата, слушая этот спор, заметил, как хорошо ответил Иса, и спросил у Него:
– Какое из повелений в Законе самое важное?
29 Иса ответил:
– Самое важное повеление – это: «Слушай, Исраил! Вечный, наш Бог, – единый Бог.[h] 30 Люби Вечного, Бога твоего, всем сердцем и всей душой, всем разумом и всеми силами своими»[i]. 31 Второе повеление: «Люби ближнего твоего, как самого себя»[j]. Нет повелений важнее этих двух.
32 Учитель Таурата сказал:
– Прекрасно, Учитель. Ты прав, говоря, что Аллах один, и нет другого Бога, кроме Него. 33 Любить Его всем сердцем, всем разумом, всеми силами и любить ближнего, как самого себя, – это важнее, чем все всесожжения и жертвы.
34 Иса, видя, как разумно ответил учитель Таурата, сказал ему:
– Недалеко ты от Царства Аллаха.
С тех пор никто больше не решался задавать Ему вопросы.
Масих – Повелитель Давуда(E)
35 Продолжая учить в храме, Иса сказал:
– Почему учители Таурата говорят, что Масих – лишь сын Давуда? 36 Ведь сам Давуд сказал под водительством Святого Духа:
«Вечный сказал моему Повелителю:
сядь по правую руку от Меня,
пока Я не повергну всех врагов Твоих
к ногам Твоим»[k].
37 Сам Давуд называет Масиха Повелителем. Как же в таком случае Он может быть всего лишь его сыном?
Большая толпа слушала Ису с радостью.
Предостережение от лицемерия(F)
38 А Он учил:
– Остерегайтесь учителей Таурата. Они любят наряжаться в длинные одежды и любят, когда их приветствуют в людных местах. 39 Они сидят на самых почётных местах в молитвенных домах и на званых обедах. 40 Они разоряют дома вдов и напоказ долго молятся. Таких ждёт очень суровое наказание.
Щедрое пожертвование бедной вдовы(G)
41 Сев напротив сокровищницы храма, Иса смотрел, как люди кладут в неё деньги. Многие богачи бросали помногу. 42 Но вот подошла бедная вдова и бросила две медные монетки[l]. 43 Иса подозвал учеников и сказал им:
– Говорю вам истину, эта бедная вдова положила больше всех, кто клал в сокровищницу, 44 потому что все давали от своего избытка, а она от своей нищеты положила всё, что у неё было на жизнь.

The Message
The Story About a Vineyard
12 1-2 Then Jesus started telling them stories. “A man planted a vineyard. He fenced it, dug a winepress, erected a watchtower, turned it over to the farmhands, and went off on a trip. At the time for harvest, he sent a servant back to the farmhands to collect his profits.
3-5 “They grabbed him, beat him up, and sent him off empty-handed. So he sent another servant. That one they tarred and feathered. He sent another and that one they killed. And on and on, many others. Some they beat up, some they killed.
6 “Finally there was only one left: a beloved son. In a last-ditch effort, he sent him, thinking, ‘Surely they will respect my son.’
7-8 “But those farmhands saw their chance. They rubbed their hands together in greed and said, ‘This is the heir! Let’s kill him and have it all for ourselves.’ They grabbed him, killed him, and threw him over the fence.
9-11 “What do you think the owner of the vineyard will do? Right. He’ll come and get rid of everyone. Then he’ll assign the care of the vineyard to others. Read it for yourselves in Scripture:
That stone the masons threw out
is now the cornerstone!
This is God’s work;
we rub our eyes—we can hardly believe it!”
12 They wanted to lynch him then and there but, intimidated by public opinion, held back. They knew the story was about them. They got away from there as fast as they could.
Paying Taxes to Caesar
13-14 They sent some Pharisees and followers of Herod to bait him, hoping to catch him saying something incriminating. They came up and said, “Teacher, we know you have integrity, that you are indifferent to public opinion, don’t pander to your students, and teach the way of God accurately. Tell us: Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”
15-16 He knew it was a trick question, and said, “Why are you playing these games with me? Bring me a coin and let me look at it.” They handed him one.
“This engraving—who does it look like? And whose name is on it?”
“Caesar,” they said.
17 Jesus said, “Give Caesar what is his, and give God what is his.”
Their mouths hung open, speechless.
Our Intimacies Will Be with God
18-23 Some Sadducees, the party that denies any possibility of resurrection, came up and asked, “Teacher, Moses wrote that if a man dies and leaves a wife but no child, his brother is obligated to marry the widow and have children. Well, there once were seven brothers. The first took a wife. He died childless. The second married her. He died, and still no child. The same with the third. All seven took their turn, but no child. Finally the wife died. When they are raised at the resurrection, whose wife is she? All seven were her husband.”
24-27 Jesus said, “You’re way off base, and here’s why: One, you don’t know what God said; two, you don’t know how God works. After the dead are raised up, we’re past the marriage business. As it is with angels now, all our ecstasies and intimacies then will be with God. And regarding the dead, whether or not they are raised, don’t you ever read the Bible? How God at the bush said to Moses, ‘I am—not was—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? The living God is God of the living, not the dead. You’re way, way off base.”
The Most Important Commandment
28 One of the religion scholars came up. Hearing the lively exchanges of question and answer and seeing how sharp Jesus was in his answers, he put in his question: “Which is most important of all the commandments?”
29-31 Jesus said, “The first in importance is, ‘Listen, Israel: The Lord your God is one; so love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.’ And here is the second: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ There is no other commandment that ranks with these.”
32-33 The religion scholar said, “A wonderful answer, Teacher! So clear-cut and accurate—that God is one and there is no other. And loving him with all passion and intelligence and energy, and loving others as well as you love yourself. Why, that’s better than all offerings and sacrifices put together!”
34 When Jesus realized how insightful he was, he said, “You’re almost there, right on the border of God’s kingdom.”
After that, no one else dared ask a question.

35-37 While he was teaching in the Temple, Jesus asked, “How is it that the religion scholars say that the Messiah is David’s ‘son,’ when we all know that David, inspired by the Holy Spirit, said,
God said to my Master,
“Sit here at my right hand
until I put your enemies under your feet.”
“David here designates the Messiah ‘my Master’—so how can the Messiah also be his ‘son’?”
The large crowd was delighted with what they heard.
38-40 He continued teaching. “Watch out for the religion scholars. They love to walk around in academic gowns, preening in the radiance of public flattery, basking in prominent positions, sitting at the head table at every church function. And all the time they are exploiting the weak and helpless. The longer their prayers, the worse they get. But they’ll pay for it in the end.”
41-44 Sitting across from the offering box, he was observing how the crowd tossed money in for the collection. Many of the rich were making large contributions. One poor widow came up and put in two small coins—a measly two cents. Jesus called his disciples over and said, “The truth is that this poor widow gave more to the collection than all the others put together. All the others gave what they’ll never miss; she gave extravagantly what she couldn’t afford—she gave her all.”

New International Version
The Parable of the Tenants(A)
12 Jesus then began to speak to them in parables: “A man planted a vineyard.(B) He put a wall around it, dug a pit for the winepress and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and moved to another place. 2 At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants to collect from them some of the fruit of the vineyard. 3 But they seized him, beat him and sent him away empty-handed. 4 Then he sent another servant to them; they struck this man on the head and treated him shamefully. 5 He sent still another, and that one they killed. He sent many others; some of them they beat, others they killed.
6 “He had one left to send, a son, whom he loved. He sent him last of all,(C) saying, ‘They will respect my son.’
7 “But the tenants said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’ 8 So they took him and killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard.
9 “What then will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and kill those tenants and give the vineyard to others. 10 Haven’t you read this passage of Scripture:
“‘The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;(D)
11 the Lord has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes’[a]?”(E)
12 Then the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders looked for a way to arrest him because they knew he had spoken the parable against them. But they were afraid of the crowd;(F) so they left him and went away.(G)
Paying the Imperial Tax to Caesar(H)
13 Later they sent some of the Pharisees and Herodians(I) to Jesus to catch him(J) in his words. 14 They came to him and said, “Teacher, we know that you are a man of integrity. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it right to pay the imperial tax[b] to Caesar or not? 15 Should we pay or shouldn’t we?”
But Jesus knew their hypocrisy. “Why are you trying to trap me?” he asked. “Bring me a denarius and let me look at it.” 16 They brought the coin, and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?”
“Caesar’s,” they replied.
17 Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.”(K)
And they were amazed at him.
Marriage at the Resurrection(L)
18 Then the Sadducees,(M) who say there is no resurrection,(N) came to him with a question. 19 “Teacher,” they said, “Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man must marry the widow and raise up offspring for his brother.(O) 20 Now there were seven brothers. The first one married and died without leaving any children. 21 The second one married the widow, but he also died, leaving no child. It was the same with the third. 22 In fact, none of the seven left any children. Last of all, the woman died too. 23 At the resurrection[c] whose wife will she be, since the seven were married to her?”
24 Jesus replied, “Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures(P) or the power of God? 25 When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.(Q) 26 Now about the dead rising—have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the account of the burning bush, how God said to him, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’[d]?(R) 27 He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!”
The Greatest Commandment(S)
28 One of the teachers of the law(T) came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[e] 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[f](U) 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[g](V) There is no commandment greater than these.”
32 “Well said, teacher,” the man replied. “You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him.(W) 33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”(X)
34 When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.”(Y) And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions.(Z)
Whose Son Is the Messiah?(AA)(AB)
35 While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts,(AC) he asked, “Why do the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the son of David?(AD) 36 David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit,(AE) declared:
37 David himself calls him ‘Lord.’ How then can he be his son?”
The large crowd(AG) listened to him with delight.
Warning Against the Teachers of the Law
38 As he taught, Jesus said, “Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted with respect in the marketplaces, 39 and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets.(AH) 40 They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely.”
The Widow’s Offering(AI)
41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put(AJ) and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.
43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”(AK)
