⁴⁵ For even the Son of Man came not to be served but ^(A)to serve, and ^(B)to give his life as a ransom for ^(C)many.”

²⁴ And he said to them, ^(A)“This is my ^(B)blood of the^[a] covenant, which is poured out for ^(C)many.

^24 (A)and are justified ^(B)by his grace as a gift, ^(C)through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, ²⁵ whom God ^(D)put forward as ^(E)a propitiation ^(F)by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in ^(G)his divine forbearance he had passed over ^(H)former sins.

¹⁷ Therefore he had ^(A)to be made like his brothers in every respect, ^(B)so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest ^(C)in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

^2 (A)He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but ^(B)also for the sins of the whole world.

¹⁰ In this is love, ^(A)not that we have loved God ^(B)but that he loved us and sent his Son to be ^(C)the propitiation for our sins.
