The Day of the Lord
4 “For look, the day is coming, burning like a furnace, when all the arrogant and everyone who commits wickedness will become stubble. The coming day will consume them,” says the Lord of Armies, “not leaving them root or branches. 2 But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings,(A) and you will go out and playfully jump like calves from the stall.[a] 3 You will trample the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day I am preparing,” says the Lord of Armies.
A Final Warning
4 “Remember the instruction of Moses my servant, the statutes and ordinances I commanded him at Horeb(B) for all Israel. 5 Look, I am going to send you the prophet Elijah(C) before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.(D) 6 And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers.(E) Otherwise, I will come and strike the land[b] with a curse.”

4 Ty se, dagen kommer, och den skall brinna såsom en ugn. Då skola alla fräcka människor och alla som göra, vad ogudaktigt är, bliva lika strå, och dagen, den som kommer, skall förbränna dem, säger HERREN Sebaot, så att varken rot eller krona lämnas kvar av dem.
2 Men för eder, I som frukten mitt namn, skall rättfärdighetens sol gå upp med läkedom under sina vingar. Då skolen I slippa ut och hoppa såsom kalvar, som hava varit instängda i stallet.
3 Och de ogudaktiga skolen I trampa ned, ty de skola bliva såsom aska under edra fötter på den dag, då jag utför mitt verk, säger HERREN Sebaot.
4 Tänken på Moses lag, min tjänares, åt vilken jag på Horeb gav stadgar och rätter för hela Israel.
5 Se, jag skall sända till eder profeten Elia, förrän HERRENS stora och fruktansvärda dag kommer.
6 Och han skall vända fädernas hjärtan till barnen och barnens hjärtan till deras fäder, för att jag icke, när jag kommer, skall slå landet med tillspillogivning.

4 [a]“Surely the day is coming;(A) it will burn like a furnace.(B) All the arrogant(C) and every evildoer will be stubble,(D) and the day that is coming will set them on fire,(E)” says the Lord Almighty. “Not a root or a branch(F) will be left to them. 2 But for you who revere my name,(G) the sun of righteousness(H) will rise with healing(I) in its rays. And you will go out and frolic(J) like well-fed calves. 3 Then you will trample(K) on the wicked; they will be ashes(L) under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty.
4 “Remember the law(M) of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb(N) for all Israel.(O)
5 “See, I will send the prophet Elijah(P) to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes.(Q) 6 He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children,(R) and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike(S) the land with total destruction.”(T)

4 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.
4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
