8 But when you present the (A)blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? And when you present the lame and sick, is it not evil? Please, bring it near to your (B)governor! Would he accept you? Or would he lift up your face?” says Yahweh of hosts. 9 “But now, [a](C)entreat God’s favor, that He may be gracious to us! With this thing which is from your hand, will He (D)lift up any of your faces?” says Yahweh of hosts. 10 “Oh that there were one among you who would (E)shut the [b]gates, that you might not light a fire on My altar in vain! I have no delight in you,” says Yahweh of hosts, “(F)nor will I accept an offering from your hand.

8 When you offer blind animals for sacrifice, is that not wrong? When you sacrifice lame or diseased animals,(A) is that not wrong? Try offering them to your governor! Would he be pleased(B) with you? Would he accept you?” says the Lord Almighty.(C)
9 “Now plead with God to be gracious to us. With such offerings(D) from your hands, will he accept(E) you?”—says the Lord Almighty.
10 “Oh, that one of you would shut the temple doors,(F) so that you would not light useless fires on my altar! I am not pleased(G) with you,” says the Lord Almighty, “and I will accept(H) no offering(I) from your hands.
