6 “‘A son (B)honors his father, and a servant his master. Then if I am a (C)father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My [c]respect?’ says the Lord of hosts to you, O (D)priests who despise My name. But you say, ‘How have we despised Your name?’ 7 You are presenting (E)defiled [d](F)food upon My altar. But you say, ‘How have we defiled You?’ In that you say, ‘The (G)table of the Lord is to be despised.’

6 “A son honors his father,(C) and a slave his master.(D) If I am a father, where is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect(E) due me?” says the Lord Almighty.(F)
“It is you priests who show contempt for my name.
“But you ask,(G) ‘How have we shown contempt for your name?’
7 “By offering defiled food(H) on my altar.
“But you ask,(I) ‘How have we defiled you?’
“By saying that the Lord’s table(J) is contemptible.
