²⁶ Moreover I will ^[a]make ^(A)a covenant of peace with them, and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them and ^(B)multiply them, and I will set My ^(C)sanctuary in their midst forevermore.

¹² Therefore say, ^(A)‘Behold, I give to him My ^(B)covenant of peace; ¹³ and it shall be to him and ^(C)his descendants after him a covenant of ^(D)an everlasting priesthood, because he was ^(E)zealous for his God, and ^(F)made ^[a]atonement for the children of Israel.’ ”

^25 (A)“I will make a covenant of peace with them, and ^(B)cause wild beasts to cease from the land; and they ^(C)will dwell safely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods.

¹⁵ After that the Levites shall go in to service the tabernacle of meeting. So you shall cleanse them and ^(A)offer them like a wave offering.

⁹ Is it ^(A)a small thing to you that the God of Israel has ^(B)separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to Himself, to do the work of the tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand before the congregation to serve them; ¹⁰ and that He has brought you near to Himself, you and all your brethren, the sons of Levi, with you? And are you seeking the priesthood also?

²⁶ then Moses stood in the entrance of the camp, and said, “Whoever is on the Lord’s side—come to me!” And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him. ²⁷ And he said to them, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘Let every man put his sword on his side, and go in and out from entrance to entrance throughout the camp, and ^(A)let every man kill his brother, every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.’ ” ²⁸ So the sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses. And about three thousand men of the people fell that day. ^29 (B)Then Moses said, ^[a]“Consecrate yourselves today to the Lord, that He may bestow on you a blessing this day, for every man has opposed his son and his brother.”
