1 (A)Entandikwa y’Enjiri ya Yesu Kristo, Omwana wa Katonda.
2 (B)Kyawandiikibwa mu kitabo kya nnabbi Isaaya nti,
“Laba ntuma omubaka wange akukulembere,
ateeketeeke ekkubo lyo;
3 (C)eddoboozi ly’oyo ayogelera waggulu mu ddungu nti,
‘Muteeketeeke ekkubo lya Mukama,
mutereeze amakubo ge.’ ”
4 (D)Yokaana yajja ng’abatiriza mu ddungu, ng’abuulira okubatiza okw’okwenenya olw’okusonyiyibwa ebibi. 5 Ensi yonna ey’e Buyudaaya n’abantu bonna ab’omu Yerusaalemi, ne bagendanga gy’ali, n’ababatiza mu mugga Yoludaani nga baatula ebibi byabwe. 6 (E)Yokaana yayambalanga ekyambalo eky’obwoya bw’eŋŋamira, ne yeesibanga olukoba olw’eddiba mu kiwato kye, era yalyanga nzige na mubisi gwa njuki. 7 (F)Yabuuliranga ng’agamba nti, “Waliwo omuntu omukulu era ansinga amaanyi ajja okujja, gwe sisaanira na kusumulula bukoba bwa ngatto ze. 8 (G)Nze mbabatiza na mazzi, naye ye alibabatiza na Mwoyo Mutukuvu.”
Okubatizibwa kwa Yesu n’Okukemebwa kwe
9 (H)Awo olwatuuka mu nnaku ezo Yesu n’ava e Nazaaleesi mu Ggaliraaya n’ajja, Yokaana n’amubatiza mu mugga Yoludaani. 10 (I)Awo Yesu bwe yali yaakava mu mazzi, n’alaba eggulu nga libikkuse, ne Mwoyo ng’ali ng’ejjiba ng’amukkako. 11 (J)Eddoboozi ne liva mu ggulu nga ligamba nti, “Ggwe Mwana wange omwagalwa, ggwe, gwe nsanyukira ennyo.” 12 Amangwago Mwoyo n’amutwala mu ddungu. 13 (K)N’amalayo ennaku amakumi ana ng’ali n’ensolo ez’omu nsiko, ng’akemebwa Setaani, kyokka nga bamalayika bamuweereza.
Yesu Ayita Abayigirizwa Abaasooka
14 (L)Oluvannyuma nga Yokaana Omubatiza amaze okusibwa mu kkomera, Yesu n’ajja mu Ggaliraaya okubuulira Enjiri ya Katonda, 15 (M)ng’agamba nti, “Ekiseera kituukiridde, n’obwakabaka bwa Katonda busembedde! Mwenenye mukkirize Enjiri.” 16 Awo Yesu yali ng’ayita ku lubalama lw’ennyanja y’e Ggaliraaya, n’alaba Simooni ne muganda we Andereya nga basuula obutimba bwabwe mu nnyanja; kubanga baali bavubi. 17 Yesu n’abagamba nti, “Mujje mungoberere nange ndibafuula abavubi b’abantu!” 18 Amangwago ne baleka obutimba bwabwe ne bamugoberera. 19 Bwe yeeyongerayo katono, n’alaba Yakobo ne Yokaana batabani ba Zebbedaayo, nga bali mu lyato baddaabiriza obutimba bwabwe. 20 Amangwago n’abayita ne baleka kitaabwe Zebbedaayo mu lyato n’abapakasi, ne bagoberera Yesu.
Yesu Awonya Omusajja eyaliko Dayimooni
21 (N)Awo ne bayingira mu Kaperunawumu. Amangwago n’ayingira mu kuŋŋaaniro ku Ssabbiiti, n’abayigiriza. 22 (O)Ne beewuunya okuyigiriza kwe, kubanga yabayigiriza nga nannyini buyinza, so si ng’abannyonnyozi b’amateeka bwe baakolanga. 23 Amangwago ne walabika omusajja eyaliko omwoyo omubi mu ssinzizo, n’awowoggana, 24 (P)ng’agamba nti, “Otwagaza ki Yesu Omunnazaaleesi? Ozze okutuzikiriza? Nkumanyi gwe Mutukuvu wa Katonda.” 25 (Q)Awo Yesu n’aguboggolera ng’agamba nti, “Sirika era muveeko.” 26 (R)Awo omwoyo omubi ne gumusikambula nnyo, ne gumuvaako. 27 (S)Buli omu ne yeewuunya, ne beebuuzaganya nti, “Kuyigiriza kwa ngeri ki kuno okuggya okujjudde obuyinza? So n’emyoyo emibi agiragira ne gimugondera.” 28 (T)Amangwago amawulire agamukwatako ne gasaasaana wonna mu byalo ebyetoolodde Ggaliraaya.
Yesu Awonya Nnyina wa Muka Simooni
29 (U)Amangwago ne bava mu kkuŋŋaaniro ne bagenda mu nnyumba ya Simooni ne Andereya nga bali ne Yakobo ne Yokaana. 30 Ne basanga nga nnyina muka Simooni agalamidde mulwadde omusujja. Amangwago ne bakitegeeza Yesu. 31 (V)Bwe yamusemberera, n’amukwata ku mukono n’amuyimusa, omusujja ne gumuwonako, n’abaweereza!
Yesu Awonya Abalwadde Abangi
32 (W)Awo obudde bwe bwali buwungeera, ng’enjuba egwa, ne bamuleetera abalwadde bonna, n’abaaliko dayimooni. 33 Ekibuga kyonna ne kikuŋŋaanira ku luggi. 34 (X)Era Yesu n’awonya abalwadde bangi abaalina endwadde ez’enjawulo era n’abaaliko baddayimooni bangi n’ababagobako, ne baddayimooni teyabaganya kwogera, kubanga baali bamumanyi.
Yesu Asaba yekka mu Kifo eteri Bantu
35 (Y)Enkeera ng’obudde tebunnalaba yesu n’azuukuka n’agenda yekka mu kifo ekyekusifu, okusaba. 36 Awo Simooni ne be yali nabo ne bamunoonya, 37 bwe baamulaba ne bamugamba nti, “Buli muntu akunoonya.” 38 (Z)Naye Yesu n’abagamba nti, “Tugende awalala mu byalo ebituliraanye, n’abeeyo mbabuulire, kubanga ekyo kye najjirira.” 39 (AA)Awo n’abuulira mu makuŋŋaaniro ag’omu kitundu kyonna eky’e Ggaliraaya, era n’agoba ne baddayimooni.
Yesu Awonya Omugenge
40 (AB)Awo omugenge[a] n’ajja eri Yesu ne yeegayirira ng’afukamidde mu maaso ge, n’amugamba nti, “Bwe kuba nga kwe kusiima kwo, oyinza okunnongoosa.” 41 Yesu n’amusaasira, n’agolola omukono gwe, n’amukwatako, n’amugamba nti, “Nsiimye, longooka!” 42 Amangwago ebigenge ne bimuwonako, n’aba mulongoofu. 43 Awo Yesu n’amukuutira nnyo n’amusiibula, 44 (AC)ng’agamba nti, “Kino tokibuulirako muntu n’omu, wabula genda weeyanjule eri kabona, oweeyo n’ekirabo Musa kye yalagira okuweebwangayo, okuba obujulirwa gye bali.” 45 (AD)Naye omusajja n’atandika okwogera ku ebyo ebyamubaako, n’okubibunyisa. Yesu n’atasobola kuyingira mu kibuga mu lwatu, naye n’abeeranga mu bifo ebyekusifu. Abantu ne bajjanga gy’ali okuva mu njuyi zonna.

John the Baptist Prepares the Way(A)
1 The (B)beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, (C)the Son of God. 2 As it is written in [a]the Prophets:
(D)“Behold, I send My messenger before Your face,
Who will prepare Your way before You.”
3 “The(E) voice of one crying in the wilderness:
‘Prepare the way of the Lord;
Make His paths straight.’ ”
4 (F)John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance [b]for the remission of sins. 5 (G)Then all the land of Judea, and those from Jerusalem, went out to him and were all baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.
6 Now John was (H)clothed with camel’s hair and with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. 7 And he preached, saying, (I)“There comes One after me who is mightier than I, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to stoop down and loose. 8 (J)I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you (K)with the Holy Spirit.”
John Baptizes Jesus(L)

Four Fishermen Called as Disciples(Y)
16 (Z)And as He walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 17 Then Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become (AA)fishers of men.” 18 (AB)They immediately left their nets and followed Him.
19 When He had gone a little farther from there, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending their nets. 20 And immediately He called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went after Him.
Jesus Casts Out an Unclean Spirit(AC)
21 (AD)Then they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the (AE)synagogue and taught. 22 (AF)And they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
23 Now there was a man in their synagogue with an (AG)unclean spirit. And he cried out, 24 saying, “Let us alone! (AH)What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I (AI)know who You are—the (AJ)Holy One of God!”
25 But Jesus (AK)rebuked him, saying, [h]“Be quiet, and come out of him!” 26 And when the unclean spirit (AL)had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him. 27 Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, [i]“What is this? What new [j]doctrine is this? For with authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him.” 28 And immediately His (AM)fame spread throughout all the region around Galilee.
Peter’s Mother-in-Law Healed(AN)
29 (AO)Now as soon as they had come out of the synagogue, they entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 30 But Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and they told Him about her at once. 31 So He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and immediately the fever left her. And she served them.
Many Healed After Sabbath Sunset(AP)
32 (AQ)At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to Him all who were sick and those who were demon-possessed. 33 And the whole city was gathered together at the door. 34 Then He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and (AR)cast out many demons; and He (AS)did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him.
Preaching in Galilee(AT)
35 Now (AU)in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a [k]solitary place; and there He (AV)prayed. 36 And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him. 37 When they found Him, they said to Him, (AW)“Everyone (AX)is looking for You.”
38 But He said to them, (AY)“Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because (AZ)for this purpose I have come forth.”
39 (BA)And He was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and (BB)casting out demons.
Jesus Cleanses a Leper(BC)
40 (BD)Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.”
41 Then Jesus, moved with (BE)compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” 42 As soon as He had spoken, (BF)immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed. 43 And He strictly warned him and sent him away at once, 44 and said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things (BG)which Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
45 (BH)However, he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread the matter, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter the city, but was outside in deserted places; (BI)and they came to Him from every direction.

Predicazione di Giovanni il battista(A)

2 Secondo quanto è scritto nel *profeta *Isaia:
«Ecco, io mando davanti a te il mio messaggero[b]
a prepararti la via…
3 Voce di uno che grida nel deserto:
“Preparate la via del Signore,
raddrizzate i suoi sentieri[c]”».
4 Venne *Giovanni il battista nel deserto predicando un battesimo di ravvedimento per il perdono dei peccati. 5 E tutto il paese della *Giudea e tutti quelli di *Gerusalemme accorrevano a lui ed erano da lui battezzati nel fiume *Giordano, confessando i loro peccati.
6 Giovanni era vestito di pelo di cammello, con una cintura di cuoio intorno ai fianchi, e si nutriva di *cavallette e di miele selvatico. 7 E predicava, dicendo: «Dopo di me viene colui che è piú forte di me; al quale io non sono degno di chinarmi a sciogliere il legaccio dei calzari. 8 Io vi ho battezzati con acqua, ma lui vi battezzerà con lo Spirito Santo».
Battesimo e tentazione di Gesú Cristo
9 (C)In quei giorni Gesú venne da *Nazaret di *Galilea e fu battezzato da Giovanni nel Giordano. 10 A un tratto, come egli usciva dall'acqua, vide aprirsi i cieli e lo Spirito scendere su di lui come una colomba. 11 Una voce venne dai cieli: «Tu sei il mio diletto Figlio; in te mi sono compiaciuto».
12 Subito dopo lo Spirito lo sospinse nel deserto; 13 e nel deserto rimase per quaranta giorni, tentato da Satana. Stava tra le bestie selvatiche e gli angeli lo servivano.
Gesú Cristo in Galilea
14 (D)Dopo che Giovanni fu messo in prigione, Gesú si recò in Galilea, predicando il vangelo di Dio e dicendo: 15 «Il tempo è compiuto e il regno di Dio è vicino; ravvedetevi e credete al vangelo».
Primi discepoli di Gesú Cristo
16 (E)Mentre passava lungo il mare di Galilea, egli vide *Simone e *Andrea, fratello di Simone, che gettavano la rete in mare, perché erano pescatori. 17 Gesú disse loro: «Seguitemi, e io farò di voi dei pescatori di uomini». 18 Essi, lasciate subito le reti, lo seguirono. 19 Poi, andando un po' piú oltre, vide *Giacomo, figlio di Zebedeo, e *Giovanni, suo fratello, che anch'essi in barca rassettavano le reti; 20 e subito li chiamò; ed essi, lasciato Zebedeo loro padre nella barca con gli operai, se ne andarono dietro a lui.
Gesú scaccia un demonio a Capernaum
21 (F)Vennero a *Capernaum; e subito, il sabato, Gesú, entrato nella *sinagoga, insegnava. 22 Essi si stupivano del suo insegnamento, perché egli insegnava loro come uno che ha autorità e non come gli *scribi.
23 In quel momento si trovava nella loro sinagoga un uomo posseduto da uno spirito immondo, il quale prese a gridare: 24 «Che c'è fra noi e te, Gesú Nazareno? Sei venuto per mandarci in perdizione[d]? Io so chi sei: Il Santo di Dio!» 25 Gesú lo sgridò, dicendo: «Sta' zitto ed esci da costui!» 26 E lo spirito immondo, straziandolo e gridando forte, uscí da lui. 27 E tutti si stupirono e si domandavano tra di loro: «Che cos'è mai questo? È un nuovo insegnamento dato con autorità! Egli comanda perfino agli spiriti immondi, ed essi gli ubbidiscono!» 28 La sua fama si divulgò subito dappertutto, nella circostante regione della Galilea.
Gesú guarisce la suocera di Pietro
29 (G)Appena usciti dalla sinagoga, andarono con Giacomo e Giovanni in casa di Simone e di Andrea. 30 La suocera di Simone era a letto con la febbre; ed essi subito gliene parlarono; 31 egli, avvicinatosi, la prese per la mano e la fece alzare; la febbre la lasciò ed ella si mise a servirli.
Altre guarigioni; missione in Galilea
32 (H)Poi, fattosi sera, quando il sole fu tramontato, gli condussero tutti i malati e gli indemoniati; 33 tutta la città era radunata alla porta. 34 Egli ne guarí molti che soffrivano di diverse malattie, e scacciò molti demòni e non permetteva loro di parlare, perché lo conoscevano.
35 Poi, la mattina, mentre era ancora notte, Gesú si alzò, uscí e se ne andò in un luogo deserto; e là pregava. 36 Simone e quelli che erano con lui si misero a cercarlo; 37 e, trovatolo, gli dissero: «Tutti ti cercano». 38 Ed egli disse loro: «Andiamo altrove, per i villaggi vicini, affinché io predichi anche là; per questo infatti sono venuto». 39 E andò per tutta la Galilea, predicando nelle loro sinagoghe e cacciando demòni.
Gesú guarisce un lebbroso
40 (I)Venne a lui un lebbroso e, buttandosi in ginocchio, lo pregò dicendo: «Se vuoi, tu puoi purificarmi!» 41 Gesú, impietositosi, stese la mano, lo toccò e gli disse: «Lo voglio; sii purificato!» 42 E subito la *lebbra sparí da lui, e fu purificato. 43 Gesú lo congedò subito, dopo averlo ammonito severamente, 44 e gli disse: «Guarda di non dire nulla a nessuno, ma va', mostrati al *sacerdote, offri per la tua purificazione quel che *Mosè ha prescritto; questo serva loro di testimonianza». 45 Ma quello, appena partito, si mise a proclamare e a divulgare il fatto, tanto che Gesú non poteva piú entrare apertamente in città; ma se ne stava fuori in luoghi deserti, e da ogni parte la gente accorreva a lui.
