(B)And He called the twelve to Himself, and began to send them out (C)two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits. He commanded them to take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bag, no bread, no copper in their money belts— but (D)to wear sandals, and not to put on two tunics.

These were his instructions: “Take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bread, no bag, no money in your belts. Wear sandals but not an extra shirt.

But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats.
