Chúa Chữa Lành Người Teo Tay
(Mat 12:9-14; Lu 6:6-11)
3 Ngài lại vào hội đường, tại đó có một người bị teo tay. 2 Người ta theo dõi để xem Ngài có chữa lành cho người ấy trong ngày Sa-bát chăng, hầu có lý do để tố cáo Ngài. 3 Ngài phán với người có tay bị teo, “Hãy ra đứng giữa đây.” 4 Ðoạn Ngài nói với họ, “Theo Luật Pháp thì trong ngày Sa-bát người ta nên làm điều thiện hay làm điều ác, nên cứu người hay giết người?” Nhưng họ đều làm thinh.
5 Ngài rảo mắt nhìn quanh, có vẻ giận và buồn, vì lòng họ cứng cỏi. Ngài phán với người bị tật, “Hãy dang tay ngươi ra.” Người ấy dang tay ra, và cánh tay người ấy liền bình phục. 6 Những người Pha-ri-si đi ra, lập tức bàn mưu với những người của Hê-rốt để chống lại Ngài, và tính kế để giết Ngài.
Ðoàn Dân Ðông Theo Chúa
7 Ðức Chúa Jesus và các môn đồ Ngài rời nơi đó trở ra bờ biển, và một đám đông rất lớn ở Ga-li-lê đi theo Ngài. Ngoài ra người ta từ các miền Giu-đê, 8 Giê-ru-sa-lem, I-đu-mê, vùng bên kia Sông Giô-đanh, và các vùng quanh Ty-rơ và Si-đôn kéo đến với Ngài rất đông, vì họ đã nghe nói về những việc Ngài làm.
9 Vì đoàn dân quá đông nên Ngài bảo các môn đồ Ngài chuẩn bị sẵn cho Ngài một chiếc thuyền, kẻo họ chen lấn nhau và lấn ép Ngài. 10 Số là Ngài đã chữa lành cho nhiều người, nên tất cả những người có bịnh đều chen lấn nhau đến gần Ngài để được chạm vào Ngài. 11 Mỗi khi những người bị các tà linh ô uế ám hại thấy Ngài, chúng sấp mình trước mặt Ngài và la lên rằng, “Thầy là Con Ðức Chúa Trời!” 12 Nhưng Ngài nghiêm cấm chúng không được nói cho người ta biết Ngài là ai.
Chúa Chọn Mười Hai Sứ Ðồ
(Mat 10:1-4; Lu 6:12-16)
13 Ngài đi lên núi và gọi những người Ngài muốn, và họ đến với Ngài. 14 Ngài chọn mười hai người và gọi họ là sứ đồ, để họ có thể ở với Ngài, hầu Ngài có thể sai họ ra đi rao giảng 15 và ban cho họ quyền phép để đuổi quỷ. 16 Mười hai người Ngài đã chọn là: Si-môn, người Ngài đặt tên là Phi-rơ; 17 Gia-cơ con của Xê-bê-đê và Giăng em trai của Gia-cơ; Ngài gọi hai người đó là Bô-a-nơ-ri, nghĩa là Các Con Trai của Sấm Sét; 18 Anh-rê, Phi-líp, Ba-thô-lô-mi, Ma-thi-ơ, Thô-ma, Gia-cơ con của Anh-phê, Tha-đê, Si-môn người Ca-na-an, 19 và Giu-đa Ích-ca-ri-ốt, kẻ về sau phản Ngài.
Chúa và Bê-ên-xê-bun
(Mat 12:22-32; Lu 11:14-23, 12:10)
20 Khi ấy Ngài vào một căn nhà, nhưng đám đông tụ lại quá đông, đến nỗi Ngài và các môn đồ Ngài không thể dùng bữa được.
21 Khi thân nhân của Ngài nghe người ta đồn rằng, “Ông ấy đã bị mất trí rồi,” nên họ tìm đến, hy vọng có thể đem Ngài về nhà.
22 Số là những thầy dạy giáo luật từ Giê-ru-sa-lem đến đã phao tin đồn rằng, “Ông ấy đã bị quỷ Bê-ên-xê-bun nhập. Ông ấy đã lấy quyền của quỷ vương mà trừ quỷ.”
23 Vì thế Ngài bèn gọi những thầy dạy giáo luật ấy đến gặp Ngài, rồi Ngài dùng các ngụ ngôn nói với họ, “Làm sao quỷ Sa-tan có thể đuổi quỷ Sa-tan? 24 Nếu một vương quốc chia rẽ để chống nghịch nhau, vương quốc ấy sẽ không thể đứng vững. 25 Nếu một gia đình chia rẽ để chống nghịch nhau, gia đình ấy sẽ không thể đứng vững. 26 Nếu quỷ Sa-tan nổi lên chống lại chính nó và tự chia rẽ, nó sẽ không thể đứng vững, nhưng ngày tàn của nó đã gần.
27 Không ai có thể vào nhà của một người lực lưỡng để cướp của mà trước hết không bắt trói người lực lưỡng ấy lại, rồi sau đó mới có thể cướp của trong nhà người ấy được.
28 Quả thật, Ta nói với các ngươi, những tội lỗi của người ta và những lời xúc phạm họ nói ra sẽ được tha, 29 nhưng ai nói xúc phạm đến Ðức Thánh Linh thì không bao giờ được tha, nhưng sẽ mắc tội đời đời.”
30 Ngài nói như thế vì họ đã bảo, “Ông ấy đã bị tà linh ô uế nhập.”
Mẹ và Các Em Chúa
(Mat 12:46-50; Lu 8:19-21)
31 Khi ấy mẹ Ngài và các em Ngài đã đến và đứng bên ngoài. Họ nhờ người vào báo tin và gọi Ngài ra. 32 Lúc đó có một đám đông đang ngồi quanh Ngài, và người ta nói với Ngài, “Có mẹ Thầy và các em Thầy đang ở bên ngoài, họ hỏi về Thầy.”
33 Ngài nói với họ, “Ai là mẹ Ta và các em Ta?” 34 Ðoạn Ngài nhìn những người đang ngồi quanh Ngài và nói, “Ðây là mẹ Ta và các em Ta. 35 Hễ ai làm theo ý muốn Ðức Chúa Trời thì người ấy là em trai, em gái, và mẹ của Ta vậy.”

3 Lần khác, Đức Giê-su đi vào hội đường, gặp[a] một người bị teo tay. 2 Họ theo dõi xem Ngài có chữa lành cho người đó trong ngày Sa-bát không để tố cáo Ngài. 3 Ngài bảo người teo tay: “Hãy đứng dậy đến giữa đây.”
4 Rồi Ngài hỏi: “Trong ngày Sa-bát nên làm điều thiện hay điều ác? Cứu người hay giết người?” Nhưng họ đều im lặng.
5 Ngài nhìn mọi người quanh mình, cảm thấy tức giận và buồn phiền vì lòng họ chai đá. Ngài bảo người teo tay: “Hãy duỗi tay ra.” Người duỗi tay ra, tay được lành lặn. 6 Những người Pha-ri-si bỏ đi ra, liền họp với đảng viên Hê-rốt âm mưu để giết Ngài.
Đoàn Dân Trên Bờ Biển
7 Đức Giê-su và các môn đệ lánh về phía bờ biển. Một đoàn dân đông từ các miền Ga-li-lê, Giu-đa, 8 Giê-ru-sa-lem, I-đơ-mia, bên kia sông Giô-đanh, miền xung quanh Ty-rơ và Sy-đôn kéo đến cùng Ngài vì họ đã nghe rất nhiều việc Ngài làm. 9 Vì đông người nên Ngài dặn môn đệ chuẩn bị sẵn một chiếc thuyền con phòng khi bị lấn ép. 10 Vì Ngài đã chữa lành nhiều người, nên những người bệnh tật chen lấn cốt để sờ vào Ngài. 11 Mỗi khi tà linh thấy Ngài, chúng đều quỳ xuống trước mặt Ngài, la lớn: “Thầy là Con Đức Chúa Trời.” 12 Nhưng Ngài nghiêm cấm chúng tiết lộ điều đó.[b]
Chúa Chọn Mười Hai Sứ-đồ(B)
13 Đức Giê-su lên núi, gọi[c] những người Ngài[d] chọn và họ đến với Ngài. 14 Ngài thiết lập Mười Hai Sứ Đồ,[e] cho họ theo bên cạnh Ngài, để Ngài sai đi truyền giảng 15 và ban cho quyền uy đuổi quỷ. 16 Đây là mười hai người Ngài đã lập: Si-môn, Ngài đặt tên là Phê-rơ; 17 Gia-cơ con Xê-bê-đê, và Giăng là em Gia-cơ, Ngài gọi họ là Bô-a-nẹt, nghĩa là con của sấm sét; 18 An-rê, Phi-líp, Ba-thê-lê-mi, Ma-thi-ơ, Thô-ma, Gia-cơ con của An-phê, Tha-đê, Si-môn người thuộc đảng Ca-na-an, 19 và Giu-đa Ích-ca-ri-ốt, là kẻ phản Ngài.
Chúa Giê-su Và Quỷ Vương(C)
20 Khi Đức Giê-su về đến nhà, dân chúng lại tụ họp đông đảo, đến nỗi Ngài và môn đệ không thể dùng bữa được. 21 Thân nhân Ngài nghe vậy tìm đến canh chừng Ngài, vì họ bảo rằng Ngài bị quẫn trí.
22 Nhưng các giáo sư Kinh Luật từ Giê-ru-sa-lem đến lại nói: “Ông ấy bị quỷ Bê-ên-xê-bun ám và cậy quỷ vương mà trừ quỷ.”
23 Đức Giê-su kêu họ đến, dùng ngụ ngôn giải thích: “Làm sao Sa-tan có thể trừ Sa-tan được? 24 Một nước tự chia rẽ thì nước ấy không sao đứng vững được, 25 một nhà tự chia rẽ thì sẽ không đứng vững được. 26 Nếu Sa-tan tự chống nghịch và chia rẽ thì không tồn tại được nhưng sẽ bị tiêu diệt. 27 Không ai có thể vào nhà một người mạnh để cướp của mà không trói người mạnh kia trước, phải trói nó trước rồi mới cướp được.”
Tội Phạm Đến Đức Thánh Linh(D)
28 “Ta quả quyết với các ông: Mọi tội lỗi loài người phạm đều có thể tha được, kể cả những lời phạm thượng. 29 Nhưng ai phạm thượng chống Đức Thánh Linh thì sẽ chẳng bao giờ được tha mà phải mắc tội muôn đời.”
30 Sở dĩ Ngài nói như vậy vì họ cho rằng Ngài bị tà linh ám.
Mẹ Và Các Em Chúa(E)
31 Mẹ và các em Ngài đến đứng bên ngoài cho người gọi Ngài. 32 Đoàn dân đông ngồi quanh Ngài, họ thưa với Ngài: “Kìa, mẹ và các em Thầy đang ở ngoài kia tìm Thầy.”
33 Ngài đáp: “Ai là mẹ Ta? Ai là anh em Ta?”
34 Rồi Ngài quay lại nhìn những người ngồi chung quanh, mà bảo: “Đây là mẹ Ta và anh em Ta? 35 Vì người nào làm theo ý Đức Chúa Trời đều là anh em, chị em, và mẹ Ta.”

3 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.
2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.
3 And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.
4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
6 And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.
7 But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea,
8 And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.
9 And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.
10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.
11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.
12 And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.
13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.
14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,
15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

31 There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.
32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.
33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

Jesus makes a man well
3 Another time, Jesus went into the Jewish meeting place. A man was there. His hand was very small and weak, so he could not use it. 2 Some Pharisees were watching Jesus carefully. They wanted to find a reason to say that Jesus was doing wrong things. It was the Jewish day of rest. So the Pharisees watched Jesus to see if he would make the man well on this day. 3 Jesus said to the man, ‘Stand here in front of everyone.’
4 Then Jesus said to the Pharisees, ‘Is it right for us to do good things on our day of rest? Or should we do bad things? Should we save a person's life? Or should we kill people?’
Nobody said anything.
5 Jesus looked round at everybody. He felt angry with them. He also felt sad because they did not want to learn. Then he said to the man, ‘Lift up your hand.’ The man lifted his hand and it became well. He could use it again. 6 The Pharisees left the meeting place immediately. They went to meet with some other people who were friends with the ruler, Herod.[a] The Pharisees talked with them about how they could kill Jesus.
Crowds follow Jesus
7 Jesus left that place and he went away to Lake Galilee with his disciples. A large crowd of people from Galilee followed them. 8 Many people also came to him from Judea, from Jerusalem and from a region of Israel called Idumea. They also came from places on the other side of the Jordan River, and from the towns called Tyre and Sidon. Many people had heard about the things that Jesus was doing. That is why all these people came to him. 9 The crowd was very large. So Jesus asked his disciples to prepare a small boat for him. They did this so that the people would not push against him. 10 Sick people were pushing to the front, because they were trying to touch him. They knew that he had made many people well. 11 Often, a person with a bad spirit saw Jesus. Then, the spirit caused the person to fall down on the ground in front of Jesus. The spirit caused that person to shout out, ‘You are the Son of God.’ 12 Jesus often had to say to the bad spirits, ‘You must not tell anyone who I am.’
Jesus chooses 12 apostles
13 Jesus went up a mountain. He chose some men and he asked them to go there with him. So they met together with him there. 14 He chose a group of 12 men. He called them his apostles.[b] He wanted them to be with him. And he would send them to teach people about God. 15 He gave these men authority to cause bad spirits to leave people. 16 These are the names of the 12 apostles:
Simon, (Jesus called him Peter).
17 James and John who were the sons of Zebedee. Jesus called them ‘Boanerges’. It means ‘men who are like thunder’.
18 Andrew,
Philip,
Bartholomew,
Matthew,[c]
Thomas,
James, who was the son of Alphaeus,
Thaddaeus,[d]
Simon the Zealot
19 and Judas Iscariot, who later gave Jesus to his enemies.
Jesus talks about Satan
20 Then Jesus went into a house. A crowd of people came together there again. There were so many people that Jesus and his disciples were not even able to eat. 21 People told his family what was happening. So they went to take him away with them. They thought that Jesus was crazy.[e]
22 Some teachers of God's Law came from Jerusalem. They said, ‘Jesus has a bad spirit called Beelzebul in him. That is Satan, the one who rules all the bad spirits. This man can send bad spirits out of people because Satan gives him authority.’[f]
23 So Jesus spoke to the teachers of God's Law. He said, ‘Come here and listen to me.’ He used stories to explain to them, ‘Satan would not fight against himself! 24 If armies in the same country start to fight each other, then they will destroy their own country. 25 And if the people in one family start to fight against each other, they will destroy their own family. 26 So Satan would not attack himself. If he did that, he would destroy his own power. That would be the end of him. 27 Nobody can easily go into the house of a strong man to rob him. To do that, he must first tie up the strong man. Then he can take away all that man's valuable things. 28 I tell you this: God can forgive all the wrong things that people do. He can also forgive people who say bad things against him. 29 But God will never forgive people who say bad things against the Holy Spirit. Those people will always be guilty of a terrible sin.’
30 Jesus said that to the teachers of God's Law, because they had said, ‘Jesus has a bad spirit in him.’
Jesus' mother and his brothers come to look for him
31 Then, Jesus' mother and his brothers arrived and they stood outside the house. They sent someone into the house with a message. They wanted Jesus to come out to speak to them. 32 A crowd of people was sitting around Jesus. Somebody said to him, ‘Look! Your mother and brothers are outside. They are looking for you.’
33 Jesus replied, ‘I will tell you who my mother and brothers really are.’
34 Then he looked at the people who were sitting around him. He said, ‘Look! Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 My brothers and sisters and my mother are the people who do what God wants.’[g]

- 3:6 The people who were friends with Herod were important Jews. Herod ruled part of Israel on behalf of the Romans. His friends were happy because the Romans had authority in Israel. They did not like Jesus. They thought that he would cause problems for Herod.
- 3:14 Jesus had many disciples. He chose 12 of them to be with him, so that he could teach them. He also called these 12 men apostles. The word apostle means that someone has sent the person out to do a job. Their job was to tell other people about Jesus.
- 3:18 Matthew is another name for Levi.
- 3:18 In Luke 6:16, Thaddaeus is called Judas, the son of James.
- 3:21 Jesus' family lived in Nazareth, which was 40 kilometres away from Capernaum.
- 3:22 Beelzebul is another name for Satan. They are both names for God's greatest enemy.
- 3:35 People who believe in Jesus become part of the family of God.
