Các Thầy Tế Lễ Lập Mưu Chống Đức Giê-su(A)
14 Hai ngày trước lễ Vượt Qua và lễ Bánh Không Men, các thượng tế và các giáo sư Kinh Luật lập mưu để bắt giết Đức Giê-su. 2 Họ bàn rằng: “Không nên làm trong kỳ lễ, kẻo gây náo động trong dân chúng.”
Đức Giê-su Được Xức Dầu Tại Bê-tha-ni(B)
3 Tại Bê-tha-ni, trong nhà của Si-môn, một người phung, Đức Giê-su đang ngồi tại bàn ăn, một phụ nữ mang đến một bình ngọc đựng dầu cam tùng nguyên chất rất đắt tiền, đập bình ra, đổ dầu thơm xức đầu Ngài.
4 Nhưng có mấy người tức giận nói với nhau: “Sao lại phí dầu thơm như vậy? 5 Dầu này có thể đem bán được hơn ba trăm đồng đê-na-ri để cho kẻ nghèo,” rồi họ trách người phụ nữ.
6 Nhưng Đức Giê-su bảo: “Hãy để mặc bà, tại sao các con làm phiền bà ấy? Bà đã làm một việc tốt đẹp cho Ta. 7 Vì các con vẫn có người nghèo ở với mình luôn và khi muốn, các con có thể làm phước cho họ, nhưng các con không có Ta mãi. 8 Bà đã làm điều mình có thể làm, đã xức dầu thân thể Ta trước để mai táng. 9 Thật Ta bảo các con, khắp thế giới hễ nơi nào Phúc Âm được truyền giảng, việc bà đã làm cũng sẽ được nhắc lại để tưởng nhớ người.”
Giu-đa Đồng Ý Phản Chúa(C)
10 Giu-đa Ích-ca-ri-ốt, một trong mười hai sứ đồ, đến gặp các thượng tế để phản nộp Đức Giê-su. 11 Nghe vậy họ mừng lắm và hứa cho Giu-đa tiền bạc, còn Giu-đa tìm dịp phản nộp Ngài.
Đức Giê-su Cùng Môn Đệ Đi Dự Lễ Vượt Qua(D)
12 Ngày đầu tiên của kỳ lễ Bánh Không Men, khi người ta dâng tế chiên con lễ Vượt Qua, các môn đồ thưa với Đức Giê-su: “Thầy muốn chúng con đi sửa soạn cho Thầy ăn lễ Vượt Qua ở đâu?”
13 Ngài sai hai môn đồ đi và dặn họ: “Hãy vào trong thành, một người xách vò nước sẽ gặp các con, hãy theo người, 14 và khi người vào nhà nào, các con hãy nói cùng chủ nhà ấy: ‘Thầy hỏi: Phòng dành cho khách để Ta ăn lễ Vượt Qua với các môn đệ Ta ở đâu?’ 15 Người sẽ chỉ cho các con một phòng rộng trên lầu đã được sắp đặt sẵn. Hãy dọn cho chúng ta tại đó.”
16 Các môn đệ đi vào thành, gặp mọi điều như Ngài đã nói, và họ sửa soạn cho lễ Vượt Qua.
17 Chiều tối, Ngài cùng đến với mười hai sứ đồ. 18 Khi đang ngồi ăn, Đức Giê-su bảo họ: “Ta nói thật cùng các con, một người trong vòng các con, là người đang ăn với Ta, sẽ phản bội Ta.”
19 Họ buồn rầu, từng người một hỏi Ngài: “Thưa Thầy, không phải con chứ?”
20 Ngài nói với họ: “Ấy là một trong mười hai người, người chấm vào cùng đĩa với Ta. 21 Vì Con Người đi như lời Kinh Thánh đã chép về Ngài, nhưng khốn thay cho kẻ phản bội Con Người! Thà nó đừng sinh ra thì hơn.”
Lễ Tiệc Thánh(E)
22 Đang khi ăn, Đức Giê-su lấy bánh, chúc phước, bẻ ra và đưa cho các môn đệ. Ngài bảo: “Hãy nhận lấy, đây là thân thể Ta.”
23 Ngài cũng lấy chén, tạ ơn rồi trao cho họ, và tất cả đều uống.
24 Ngài nói: “Đây là huyết giao ước đổ ra cho nhiều người. 25 Thật, Ta nói cùng các con, Ta sẽ không uống nước nho này nữa cho đến ngày Ta uống nước nho mới trong Nước Đức Chúa Trời.”
26 Sau khi đã hát thánh ca Đức Giê-su và các môn đệ đi ra để lên núi Ô-liu.
Đức Giê-su Báo Trước Việc Phê-rơ Chối Ngài(F)
27 Đức Giê-su bảo các môn đệ: “Tất cả các con đều sẽ vấp ngã, như lời Kinh Thánh đã chép:
‘Ta sẽ đánh người chăn
Thì chiên sẽ bị tan lạc.’[a]
28 Nhưng sau khi Ta sống lại, Ta sẽ đi đến Ga-li-lê trước các con.”
29 Phê-rơ thưa với Ngài: “Dù mọi người sẽ vấp ngã, nhưng con sẽ không.”
30 Đức Giê-su bảo ông: “Thật, Thầy bảo con, đêm nay trước khi gà gáy hai lần, con sẽ chối Ta ba lần.”
31 Nhưng Phê-rơ càng quả quyết: “Dù phải chết với Thầy, con cũng không chối Thầy đâu.” Tất cả các môn đệ đều nói như vậy.
Đức Giê-su Cầu Nguyện Tại Ghết-sê-ma-nê(G)
32 Họ đi đến một chỗ gọi là Ghết-sê-ma-nê, rồi Ngài bảo các môn đệ: “Các con hãy ngồi đây, trong khi Ta cầu nguyện.” 33 Ngài đem Phê-rơ, Gia-cơ và Giăng theo và bắt đầu cảm thấy hãi hùng và đau buồn. 34 Ngài bảo họ: “Linh hồn Ta buồn bã cho đến chết, hãy đợi ở đây và thức canh.”
35 Ngài đi xa thêm một quãng, sấp mình xuống đất và cầu nguyện rằng: Nếu có thể được, xin cho giờ này qua khỏi con. 36 Ngài thưa: “A-ba, Cha, mọi sự Cha có thể làm được, xin cất chén này khỏi con; nhưng không theo ý con, mà theo ý Cha.”
37 Ngài trở lại thấy họ đang ngủ, nên bảo Phê-rơ: “Si-môn, ngủ rồi ư? Con không thể thức được một giờ sao? 38 Phải tỉnh thức và cầu nguyện để các con khỏi sa vào sự cám dỗ, vì tâm linh thì mong muốn nhưng thể xác lại yếu đuối.”
39 Ngài lại đi và cầu nguyện như trước. 40 Ngài trở lại thấy họ đang ngủ vì mắt họ nặng trĩu và họ không biết trả lời Ngài thế nào.
41 Ngài trở lại lần thứ ba và bảo họ: “Các con còn ngủ và nghỉ ngơi sao? Đủ rồi! Đã đến giờ Con Người bị nộp vào tay kẻ có tội. 42 Đứng dậy, chúng ta đi! Kìa, kẻ phản Ta đã đến.”

43 Ngay khi Ngài còn đang nói, Giu-đa, là một trong số mười hai sứ đồ, đến cùng với một đám đông cầm gươm và gậy do các thượng tế, giáo sư Kinh Luật và các trưởng lão sai đến.
44 Kẻ phản bội cho họ một dấu hiệu này: “Hễ tôi hôn ai, chính là người đó, hãy bắt lấy và dẫn đi cho cẩn thận.” 45 Vừa đến, Giu-đa lập tức tới gần Ngài và nói: “Chào Thầy!” rồi hôn Ngài. 46 Chúng ra tay bắt Ngài. 47 Một trong những người đứng đó rút gươm ra, đánh đầy tớ của vị trưởng tế, chém đứt tai nó.
48 Đức Giê-su bảo họ: “Các ngươi cầm gươm và gậy đến bắt Ta như bắt kẻ cướp vậy sao? 49 Hằng ngày Ta ở cùng các ngươi, giảng dạy trong đền thờ mà các ngươi không bắt. Nhưng việc xảy ra, để lời Kinh Thánh được ứng nghiệm.” 50 Tất cả đều bỏ Ngài chạy trốn.
51 Một thanh niên theo Ngài, trên người chỉ choàng tấm vải, và chúng bắt chàng, 52 nhưng chàng bỏ lại tấm vải, trần truồng chạy thoát thân.
Đức Giê-su Trước Tòa Công Luận(I)
53 Họ dẫn Đức Giê-su đến vị trưởng tế. Tất cả các thượng tế, các trưởng lão và các giáo sư Kinh Luật đều họp tại đó. 54 Phê-rơ theo Ngài xa xa, vào tới trong sân của vị trưởng tế, ngồi sưởi chung với đám cảnh vệ bên đống lửa.
55 Các thượng tế và cả hội đồng tìm chứng cớ chống Đức Giê-su để xử tử Ngài, nhưng họ không tìm được gì. 56 Nhiều người vu cáo chống Ngài, nhưng lời chứng của họ không hợp nhau.
57 Có mấy người đứng lên vu cáo Ngài rằng: 58 “Chúng tôi nghe hắn nói: ‘Ta sẽ phá hủy đền thờ xây cất bằng tay này, trong ba ngày Ta sẽ dựng một đền thờ khác không do tay người xây cất.’ ” 59 Nhưng lời chứng của họ cũng không hợp nhau.
60 Vị trưởng tế đứng lên giữa họ, hỏi Đức Giê-su: “Anh không đáp lại những lời tố cáo của những người này sao?” 61 Nhưng Ngài im lặng, không trả lời chi cả. Vị trưởng tế lại hỏi: “Anh có phải là Chúa Cứu Thế, Con Đức Chúa Trời Phúc Lành[b] không?”
62 Đức Giê-su đáp: “Chính Ta! Rồi các ông sẽ thấy Con Người ngự bên phải Đấng Quyền Năng[c] hiện xuống trên mây trời.”
63 Vị trưởng tế xé áo mình, tuyên bố: “Còn cần nhân chứng làm gì nữa? 64 Quý vị đã nghe lời phạm thượng. Quý vị thấy thế nào?” Mọi người đều lên án Ngài đáng tội chết. 65 Có mấy người bắt đầu nhổ vào Ngài, che mặt Ngài, đấm Ngài và nói với Ngài: “Hãy nói tiên tri đi!” Đám cảnh vệ cũng nắm lấy Ngài, tát Ngài.
Phê-rơ Chối Chúa(J)
66 Khi Phê-rơ đang ở dưới sân, một trong những đầy tớ gái của vị trưởng tế đến, 67 thấy Phê-rơ đang ngồi sưởi, nhìn kỹ ông rồi nói: “Anh cũng ở với ông Giê-su, người Na-xa-rét.”
68 Nhưng Phê-rơ chối: “Tôi không biết, cũng không hiểu chị nói gì.” Rồi ông đi ra sân trước; lúc ấy gà gáy.
69 Đứa đầy tớ gái thấy ông tại đó, lại bắt đầu nói với những người đứng chung quanh: “Người này thuộc đám đó.” 70 Nhưng ông lại chối. Một lúc sau, những người đứng quanh đó lại nói với Phê-rơ: “Đúng rồi, anh thuộc đám đó, vì anh cũng là người Ga-li-lê.”
71 Ông bắt đầu rủa rồi thề: “Tôi không biết người các ông nói là ai.”
72 Tức thì gà gáy lần thứ hai. Phê-rơ nhớ lại lời Đức Giê-su đã bảo mình: “Trước khi gà gáy hai lần, con sẽ chối Ta ba lần.” Ông liền khóc nức nở.

14 过两天，就是逾越节和除酵节了，祭司长和经学家设法怎样用诡计逮捕耶稣，把他杀害。 2 不过他们说：“不可在节期下手，免得引起民众暴动。”
伯大尼妇人用香膏膏主(B)
3 耶稣在伯大尼，在患痲风的西门家里吃饭的时候，有一个女人来了，拿着一瓶珍贵的纯哪哒香膏。她打破了瓶，把香膏浇在耶稣的头上。 4 有几个人很生气，彼此说：“为甚么这样浪费香膏呢？ 5 这香膏可以卖三百多个银币，用来赒济穷人。”他们就向她发怒。 6 但耶稣说：“由她吧！为甚么难为她呢？她在我身上作的是一件美事。 7 你们常常有穷人跟你们在一起，只要你们愿意，随时都可以向他们行善，然而你们却不常有我。 8 她已经尽她所能的作了。她预先用香膏膏了我的身体，是为了我的安葬。 9 我实在告诉你们，福音无论传到世界上甚么地方，都要传讲这女人所作的来记念她。”

10 十二门徒中的一个，就是加略人犹大，去见祭司长，要把耶稣交给他们。 11 他们听见了就很欢喜，答应给他银子。于是犹大就找机会出卖耶稣。
最后的晚餐(D)
12 除酵节的第一天，就是宰杀逾越节羊羔的那一天，门徒问耶稣：“你要我们到哪里去，为你预备逾越节的晚餐呢？” 13 他就差派两个门徒，对他们说：“你们到城里去，必有一个拿着水瓶的人，向你们迎面而来，你们就跟着他， 14 无论他进入哪一家，你们要对那家主说，老师说：‘我的客厅在哪里？我和门徒好在那里吃逾越节的晚餐。’ 15 他必指给你们楼上一间布置整齐、预备妥当的大房间，你们就在那里为我们预备。” 16 门徒出去，进了城，所遇见的正如耶稣所说的，就预备好了逾越节的晚餐。
17 到了晚上，耶稣和十二门徒来了。 18 他们坐着吃饭的时候，耶稣说：“我实在告诉你们，你们中间有一个跟我一起吃饭的人要出卖我。” 19 他们就很忧愁，一个一个地问他：“是我吗？” 20 耶稣对他们说：“他是十二门徒里的一个，和我一同把手蘸在盘子里的。 21 正如经上指着人子所说的，他固然要离世，但出卖人子的那人有祸了！他没有生下来还好。”
22 他们吃的时候，耶稣拿起饼来，祝谢了，就擘开，递给门徒，说：“你们拿去吃吧，这是我的身体。” 23 又拿起杯来，祝谢了就递给门徒，他们都喝了。 24 耶稣说：“这是我的血，是为立约的，为许多人流出来的。 25 我实在告诉你们，我决不再喝这葡萄酒，直到我在 神的国里喝新酒的那一天。”
26 他们唱完了诗，就出来，往橄榄山去。

27 耶稣对他们说：“你们都要后退，因为经上记着：
‘我要击打牧人，
羊群就分散了。’
28 但我复活以后，要比你们先到加利利去。” 29 彼得对他说：“就算所有的人都后退，我却不会。” 30 耶稣对他说：“我实在告诉你，就在今天晚上，鸡叫两遍以前，你会三次不认我。” 31 彼得更坚决地说：“就算必须与你一同死，我也决不会不认你！”众人也都这样说。
在客西马尼祷告(F)
32 他们来到一个地方，名叫客西马尼；耶稣对门徒说：“你们坐在这里，我去祷告。” 33 他带了彼得、雅各、约翰一起去，就惊惧起来，非常难过。 34 于是对他们说：“我的心灵痛苦得快要死了；你们要留在这里，也要警醒。” 35 耶稣稍往前走，俯伏在地上祷告：如果可能的话，使那时刻不要临到他。 36 他说：“阿爸、父啊，你凡事都能作，求你叫这杯离开我。但不要照我的意思，只要照你的旨意。” 37 耶稣回来，看见门徒睡着了，就对彼得说：“西门，你睡觉吗？你连一个小时也不能警醒吗？ 38 应当警醒、祷告，免得陷入试探；你们心灵虽然愿意，肉体却是软弱的。” 39 耶稣又去祷告，说的也是同样的话。 40 他再回来的时候，看见门徒睡着了；因为他们十分疲倦，不知道该怎样回答他。 41 耶稣第三次回来，对他们说：“你们还在睡觉休息吗？够了，时候到了，看哪，人子要被交在罪人手里了。 42 起来，我们走吧！出卖我的人来了。”

43 耶稣还在说话的时候，十二门徒中的犹大和一群拿着刀棒的人来到了；他们是祭司长、经学家和长老派来的。 44 出卖耶稣的人给他们一个暗号，说：“我跟谁亲吻，谁就是他。你们把他逮捕，小心带去。” 45 犹大来到，立刻上前对耶稣说：“拉比！”就跟他亲吻。 46 他们就动手拿住耶稣，逮捕了他。 47 站在旁边的人中有一个拔出刀来，砍了大祭司的仆人一刀，削掉了他的一只耳朵。 48 耶稣对他们说：“你们带着刀棒出来，把我当作强盗捉拿吗？ 49 我天天在殿里教导人，跟你们在一起，你们却没有捉拿我；但这是为了要应验经上的话。” 50 门徒都离开他逃跑了。
51 有一个青年，赤身披着一块麻布，跟着耶稣。众人捉住他的时候， 52 他就丢掉麻布，赤身逃跑了。
大祭司审问耶稣(H)
53 他们把耶稣押到大祭司那里，所有的祭司长、长老和经学家都聚集在一起。 54 彼得远远地跟着耶稣，直到大祭司的官邸，和差役一同坐着烤火。 55 祭司长和公议会全体都寻找证据控告耶稣，要把他处死，却没有找着。 56 有许多人作假证供控告他，但他们的证供各不相符。 57 有几个人站起来，作假证供控告他说： 58 “我们听他说过：‘我要拆毁这座人手所造的圣所，三日之内要另建一座不是人手所造的圣所。’” 59 就是这样的见证，他们也不一致。 60 大祭司站起来，走到中间，问耶稣：“这些人作证控告你的是甚么呢？你怎么不回答呢？” 61 耶稣却不作声，甚么也不回答。大祭司又问他：“你是那受称颂者的儿子基督吗？” 62 耶稣说：“我是。你们要看见人子，坐在权能者的右边，驾着天上的云降临。” 63 大祭司就撕开自己的衣服，说：“我们还要甚么证人呢？ 64 你们都听见这亵渎的话了。你们认为怎么样？”众人都定他该死的罪。 65 于是有些人就向他吐唾沫，蒙住他的脸。用拳头打他，对他说：“你说预言吧！”差役把他拉去，用手掌打他。

66 彼得在下边院子的时候，大祭司的一个婢女来了， 67 看见彼得烤火，就瞪着他说：“你也是和拿撒勒人耶稣一伙的！” 68 彼得却否认说：“我不知道，也不明白你在说甚么！”他就走出去，到了前院，鸡就叫了（有些抄本无“鸡就叫了”一句）。 69 那婢女看见他，又对站在旁边的人说：“这个人也是他们一伙的。” 70 彼得还是不承认。过了一会，站在旁边的人也对彼得说：“你真是他们一伙的，因为你也是加利利人。” 71 彼得就发咒起誓说：“我不认得你们说的这个人！” 72 立刻鸡就叫了第二遍。彼得想起耶稣对他说过的话：“鸡叫两遍以前，你要三次不认我。”他一想起来，就哭了（“他一想起来，就哭了”或译：“他就夺步而出，痛哭起来”）。

14 Now it was two days before Pesach, the Chag HaMatzot. And the Rashei Hakohanim and the Sofrim were seeking how they might by ormah (cunning) do away with Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach.
2 For they were saying, Not at the Chag, for fear that a riot break out among the am haaretz.
3 And he was in Beit-Anyah at the bais of Shimon the leper, reclining at tish, and an isha (woman) came, having an alabaster flask of costly perfume, pure nard, and having broken open the alabaster flask, she poured [it on] the head of Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach.
4 Now some were there who in ka’as (anger) said to one another, For what reason has this waste of ointment taken place?
5 For this was able to be sold for more than three hundred denarii and to be given to the aniyim. And they were reproaching her.
6 But Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach said, Leave her alone. Why are you bringing about difficulty for the isha? Has she not performed one of the Gemilut Chasadim on me?
7 For always the aniyim you have with you, and when you wish you are able to do maasim tovim for them, but me you do not always have. [DEVARIM 15:11]
8 With what she had she did all she could. She prepared ahead of time to anoint my basar for the kevurah (burial) [TEHILLIM 16:9-10; IYOV 19:25-27; YESHAYAH 53:9].
9 And, omein, I say to you, wherever the Besuras HaGeulah is proclaimed in kol haaretz, also what this isha did will be spoken in her memory.
10 And Yehudah from Kriot, one of the Shneym Asar, went to the Rashei Hakohanim in order that he might betray him to them.
11 And there was chedvah (joy, gaiety, rejoicing) with the ones having heard and they gave the havtachah (promise) of a matnat kesef (gift of money) to Yehudah. And he was seeking how he might conveniently betray Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach.
12 And at the rishon of the Chag HaMatzot, when it was customary to prepare the Pesach Korban for mo’ed zevach, his talmidim say to him, Where do you wish us to go and make the preparations for you to conduct the Seder? [SHEMOT 12:1-11; DEVARIM 16:1-4]
13 And Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach sends two of his talmidim and he says to them, Go into the city, and you will meet a man carrying a jar of water; follow him;
14 And wherever he enters, tell the Baal Bayit that the Rebbe says, Where is my mekom linah where I can conduct the Pesach Seder with my talmidim?
15 And he will show you a large aliyyah having been furnished and ready. And there prepare for us.
16 And the talmidim went out and they came into the city and found things just as Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach told them, and they made preparations for Pesach.
17 And erev having come, Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach arrives with the Shneym Asar.
18 And while they were at tish in a yechidus, reclining and eating, Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach said, Omein, I say to you, that one of you will betray me, OKHEL LACHEMI (the one eating my bread TEHILLIM 41:10 (9).
19 They began to have agmat nefesh (grief), and, one by one, to say to Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach, Surely I am not the one?
20 And Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach said to them, It is one of the Shneym Asar, the one dipping with me into the bowl [SHEMOT 12:8; TEHILLIM 41:10 (9)].
21 For the Ben HaAdam [Moshiach, DANIEL 7:13 14] goes just as it has been written concerning him [YESHAYAH 53:3; DANIEL 9:26; ZECHARYAH 12:10], but woe to that man through whom the Ben HaAdam is betrayed. [It would have been] better for him if that man had not been born.
22 And at [Moshiach’s] Seudah, while they were eating, Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach, having taken the matzah, having made the HaMotzi, broke the middle matzah, giving the afikoman to Moshiach’s talmidim, and said, Take and eat, this is my BASAR. [SHEMOT 12:8]
23 And having taken the Cup of Redemption [and] having made the bracha, he gave it to Moshiach’s talmidim, and everyone drank of it.
24 And Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach said to them, HINEI DAHM HABRIT (SHEMOT 24:8), the dahm of me (Moshiach, see Isa 53:7), which is being poured out lama’an RABBIM (for the sake of MANY YESHAYAH 53:11).
25 Omein, I say to you, that no longer will I by any means drink of the p’ri hagefen (fruit of the vine) until Yom HaHu when I drink it chadash (new) in the Malchut Hashem.
26 And having sung the Hallel, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
27 And Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach says to them, All of you will fall away, for it has been written, I will strike down ES HAROEH UTEFUTEN HATZON (the Shepherd and the sheep will be scattered). [ZECHARYAH 13:7]
28 But after I am made to stand up alive in the Techiyas HaMoshiach, I will go before you into the Galil.
29 But Shimon Kefa said to him, Even if everyone will fall away, yet I will not.
30 And he says to him, Omein, I say to you, that you today, balailah hazeh (during this night) before the tarnegol crows twice, you will make hakhchashah (denial) of me shalosh paamim (three times).
31 But Kefa kept saying with vehemence, If it is necessary for me to die al kiddush ha-Shem for you, by no means will I make hakhchashah of you. And so also everyone declared.
32 And they come to a place of which the name [was] Gat Shmanim and Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach says to his talmidim, Sit down here while I daven.
33 And he takes Kefa and Yaakov and Yochanan with him and he began to be distressed and to be troubled.
34 And Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach says to them, My agmat nefesh (grief) is great, even to the point of mavet (death). Remain here and stay awake and shomer (on guard).
35 And having gone forth a little, he was falling on the ground and was davening that, if it is possible, this shaah (hour) might pass from him.
36 And Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach was saying, Abba, Avi, all things [are] possible for you. Take away this KOS [YESHAYAH 51:17; 53:12] from me. But not what I will, but what you [will].
37 And he comes and finds them sleeping, and he says to Shimon Kefa, Are you sleeping? Did you not have chozek (strength) to stay awake one hour?
38 Stay shomer and daven that you may not enter into nisayon (trial, temptation). Indeed the ruach [is] ready but the basar [is] weak.
39 And again he went away and davened the same dvarim (words) as before. [14:36]
40 And once again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were falling shut, and they did not have daas of what they might answer him.
41 And he comes the shlishit (third) time and says to them, Sleep [for] the remainder and take your rest. It is enough. The shaah (hour) has come. Hinei, the Ben HaAdam [Moshiach] is betrayed into the hands of choteim (sinners).
42 Get up, let us go. Hinei, the one betraying me has drawn near.
43 And, ofen ort, bishas maise (at the same time) Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach is speaking, Yehudah arrives, one of the Shneym Asar, and with him a crowd with swords and clubs with Rashei Hakohanim and the Sofrim and the Zekenim.
44 Now the one betraying Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach had given a signal to them, saying, Whomever I may give the neshikah (kiss), he is [the one], chap him (seize him)! And lead [him] away under guard.
45 And when he came, he ofen ort approached Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach and says, Rebbe. And he gave him the neshikah (kiss).
46 And they laid their hands on Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach and arrested him.
47 But one of those standing by drew his cherev and struck the servant of the Kohen Gadol and cut off his ear.
48 And Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach answered and said to them, Do you come out with swords and clubs as against a shoded (robber) to arrest me?
49 Every day I was with you in the Beis HaMikdash teaching Torah and you did not arrest me; but let the Kitvei Hakodesh be fulfilled. [YESHAYAH 53:7-12]
50 And, having left Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach, everyone fled.
51 And a certain bocher was following along with Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach, and the bocher was wearing nothing but a linen garment around his naked body, and they seized the bocher.
52 But the bocher ran away naked, leaving the linen garment behind.
53 And they led away Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach to the Kohen Gadol. And all the Rashei Hakohanim and the Zekenim and the Sofrim were assembled.
54 And Shimon Kefa from a distance followed Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach right into the courtyard of the Kohen Gadol. And Kefa was sitting together with the servants and warming himself near the ohr of the hadlakah (bonfire).
55 And the Rashei Hakohanim and [the] whole Sanhedrin were seeking edut against Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach in order to have him under the onesh mavet, and they were not finding any.
56 For many gave edut sheker against Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach, and the eduyot were not in agreement.
57 And some, taking the stand, were giving edut sheker (false testimony) against him:
58 We heard him saying, I will bring churban to this Beis HaMikdash made with human hands, and, after shlosha yamim, another, not made with hands, I will build.
59 So their eduyot were not in agreement.
60 And having stood up in their midst, the Kohen Gadol questioned Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach, saying, Do you not answer anything to what these bear solemn edut (testimony) against you?
61 But Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach was silent and did not answer anything. [YESHAYAH 53:7-8] Again the Kohen Gadol was questioning him and says to him, Are you the Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach, HaBen Hamevorakh?
62 And Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach said, Ani hu, and you will see the BEN HAADAM [DANIEL 7:13-14] YOSHEV LIMIN HaGevurah [TEHILLIM 110:1] UVA IM ANENEI HASHOMAYIM (the Ben HaAdam [Moshiach] sitting at the right hand of power and coming with the clouds of heaven).
63 And the Kohen Gadol, making the keriah (ritual tearing) of his tunic, says, What further need do we have of edim (witnesses)? [VAYIKRA 10:6; 21:10; 24:16; BAMIDBAR 14:6]
64 You heard him commit Chillul Hashem gidduf (blasphemy). How does it seem to you? And they all condemned Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach to be deserving of mishpat mavet. [VAYIKRA 24:16]
65 And some began to spit on him and to cover his face and to strike him and to say to him, Let’s hear a dvar nevuah (word of prophecy)! And the shomrim (guards) took custody of him by slapping Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach.
66 And Shimon Kefa being below in the courtyard, one of the maids of the Kohen Gadol comes by.
67 And having seen Kefa warming himself, having looked him over, she says, You also were with the one from Natzeret, Yehoshua!
68 But he denied [it], saying, I do not have daas (knowledge) or binah (understanding) of what you are saying. And he walked away and went outside into the entryway. And a tarnegol crowed.
69 And the maid, having seen him, began again to say to the ones standing by, This is one of them!
70 But again he made hakhchashah (denial). And after a little [while] again the ones having stood by were saying to Kefa, You are one of them, for indeed you are a Gelili (inhabitant of the Galil).
71 And Kefa began to speak a klalah (curse) and to swear, I do not have daas of this man I don’t know the one of whom you speak!
72 And ofen ort for a second time, a tarnegol crowed. And then Kefa remembered the dvar that Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach had spoken to him, Before a tarnegol crows twice, shalosh paamim (three times) you will make hakhchashah (denial) of me. (Mk 14:30). And having broken down, Kefa was weeping.

Jesus Anointed at Bethany(A)(B)(C)
14 Now the Passover(D) and the Festival of Unleavened Bread were only two days away, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were scheming to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him.(E) 2 “But not during the festival,” they said, “or the people may riot.”
3 While he was in Bethany,(F) reclining at the table in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head.(G)
4 Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, “Why this waste of perfume? 5 It could have been sold for more than a year’s wages[a] and the money given to the poor.” And they rebuked her harshly.
6 “Leave her alone,” said Jesus. “Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. 7 The poor you will always have with you,[b] and you can help them any time you want.(H) But you will not always have me. 8 She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial.(I) 9 Truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world,(J) what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.”
10 Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve,(K) went to the chief priests to betray Jesus to them.(L) 11 They were delighted to hear this and promised to give him money. So he watched for an opportunity to hand him over.
The Last Supper(M)(N)
12 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, when it was customary to sacrifice the Passover lamb,(O) Jesus’ disciples asked him, “Where do you want us to go and make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”
13 So he sent two of his disciples, telling them, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him. 14 Say to the owner of the house he enters, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ 15 He will show you a large room upstairs,(P) furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there.”
16 The disciples left, went into the city and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.
17 When evening came, Jesus arrived with the Twelve. 18 While they were reclining at the table eating, he said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me—one who is eating with me.”
19 They were saddened, and one by one they said to him, “Surely you don’t mean me?”
20 “It is one of the Twelve,” he replied, “one who dips bread into the bowl with me.(Q) 21 The Son of Man(R) will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.”
22 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it(S) and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take it; this is my body.”
23 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it.(T)
24 “This is my blood of the[c] covenant,(U) which is poured out for many,” he said to them. 25 “Truly I tell you, I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”(V)
26 When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.(W)
Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial(X)
27 “You will all fall away,” Jesus told them, “for it is written:
28 But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”(Z)
29 Peter declared, “Even if all fall away, I will not.”
30 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “today—yes, tonight—before the rooster crows twice[e] you yourself will disown me three times.”(AA)
31 But Peter insisted emphatically, “Even if I have to die with you,(AB) I will never disown you.” And all the others said the same.
Gethsemane(AC)
32 They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” 33 He took Peter, James and John(AD) along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled. 34 “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,”(AE) he said to them. “Stay here and keep watch.”
35 Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour(AF) might pass from him. 36 “Abba,[f] Father,”(AG) he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup(AH) from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”(AI)
37 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Simon,” he said to Peter, “are you asleep? Couldn’t you keep watch for one hour? 38 Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.(AJ) The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”(AK)
39 Once more he went away and prayed the same thing. 40 When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. They did not know what to say to him.
41 Returning the third time, he said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Enough! The hour(AL) has come. Look, the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners. 42 Rise! Let us go! Here comes my betrayer!”
Jesus Arrested(AM)
43 Just as he was speaking, Judas,(AN) one of the Twelve, appeared. With him was a crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests, the teachers of the law, and the elders.
44 Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: “The one I kiss is the man; arrest him and lead him away under guard.” 45 Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, “Rabbi!”(AO) and kissed him. 46 The men seized Jesus and arrested him. 47 Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.
48 “Am I leading a rebellion,” said Jesus, “that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? 49 Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts,(AP) and you did not arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.”(AQ) 50 Then everyone deserted him and fled.(AR)
51 A young man, wearing nothing but a linen garment, was following Jesus. When they seized him, 52 he fled naked, leaving his garment behind.
Jesus Before the Sanhedrin(AS)(AT)
53 They took Jesus to the high priest, and all the chief priests, the elders and the teachers of the law came together. 54 Peter followed him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest.(AU) There he sat with the guards and warmed himself at the fire.(AV)
55 The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin(AW) were looking for evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death, but they did not find any. 56 Many testified falsely against him, but their statements did not agree.
57 Then some stood up and gave this false testimony against him: 58 “We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple made with human hands and in three days will build another,(AX) not made with hands.’” 59 Yet even then their testimony did not agree.
60 Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, “Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?” 61 But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer.(AY)
Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?”(AZ)
62 “I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”(BA)
63 The high priest tore his clothes.(BB) “Why do we need any more witnesses?” he asked. 64 “You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?”
They all condemned him as worthy of death.(BC) 65 Then some began to spit at him; they blindfolded him, struck him with their fists, and said, “Prophesy!” And the guards took him and beat him.(BD)
Peter Disowns Jesus(BE)
66 While Peter was below in the courtyard,(BF) one of the servant girls of the high priest came by. 67 When she saw Peter warming himself,(BG) she looked closely at him.
“You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus,”(BH) she said.
68 But he denied it. “I don’t know or understand what you’re talking about,”(BI) he said, and went out into the entryway.[g]
69 When the servant girl saw him there, she said again to those standing around, “This fellow is one of them.” 70 Again he denied it.(BJ)
After a little while, those standing near said to Peter, “Surely you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.”(BK)
71 He began to call down curses, and he swore to them, “I don’t know this man you’re talking about.”(BL)
72 Immediately the rooster crowed the second time.[h] Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows twice[i] you will disown me three times.”(BM) And he broke down and wept.
