^26 (A)“If anyone comes to Me ^(B)and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, ^(C)yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. ²⁷ And ^(D)whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. ²⁸ For ^(E)which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it—

Take Up the Cross and Follow Him^(A)

^24 (B)Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and ^(C)follow Me. ²⁵ For ^(D)whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. ²⁶ For what ^(E)profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or ^(F)what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

²⁷ Then Peter answered and said to Him, “See, ^(A)we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?”

²⁸ So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, ^(B)you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. ^29 (C)And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother ^[a]or wife or children or ^[b]lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.
