Jesus cura um homem com mão paralisada
(Mt 12.9-14; Mc 3.1-6)
6 Num outro sábado, estando a ensinar na sinagoga, encontrava-se ali um homem que tinha a mão direita aleijada. 7 Os especialistas na Lei e os fariseus vigiavam-no atentamente, para ver se Jesus curaria o homem no dia de sábado, para encontrarem de que o acusar. 8 Jesus conhecia bem os seus pensamentos, por isso, disse ao aleijado: “Levanta-te e vem pôr-te aqui ao meio.” Ele assim fez. 9 Então disse aos fariseus e aos especialistas na Lei: “Tenho uma pergunta a fazer-vos: É legítimo praticar o bem num sábado ou praticar o mal? Salvar a vida ou destruí-la?” 10 E, olhando em volta, fitou-os um por um. Então disse ao homem: “Estende o braço!” Ele assim fez e imediatamente a sua mão ficou completamente normal. 11 Os inimigos de Jesus ficaram furiosos e começaram a tramar a sua morte.

6 On another Sabbath(A) he went into the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was shriveled. 7 The Pharisees and the teachers of the law were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely(B) to see if he would heal on the Sabbath.(C) 8 But Jesus knew what they were thinking(D) and said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Get up and stand in front of everyone.” So he got up and stood there.
9 Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you, which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?”
10 He looked around at them all, and then said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did so, and his hand was completely restored. 11 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law were furious(E) and began to discuss with one another what they might do to Jesus.
