43 And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God.

Jesus Foretells His Death a Second Time(A)

But while everyone marveled at all the things Jesus did, He said to His disciples, 44 “Let these words sink down into your ears, for the Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men.” 45 But they did not understand this statement, and it was hidden from them, so that they did not perceive it. And they were afraid to ask Him about this statement.

But while they[a] were all marveling at all the things that he was doing, he said to his disciples, 44 “You take these words to heart,[b] for the Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men.” 45 But they did not understand this statement, and it was concealed from them so that they could not understand it. And they were afraid to ask him about this statement.
