⁶² Jesus said to him, ^(A)“No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”

¹³ Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: ^(A)forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,

²⁰ For if, ^(A)after they have escaped the defilements of the world ^(B)through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, ^(C)the last state has become worse for them than the first. ²¹ For ^(D)it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from ^(E)the holy commandment delivered to them. ²² What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The ^(F)dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.”

³¹ On that day, ^(A)let the one who is on ^(B)the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away, and likewise let the one who is in the field not turn back. ^32 (C)Remember Lot's wife.

⁶ But ^(A)let him ask in faith, ^(B)with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like ^(C)a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. ⁷ For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; ^8 (D)he is a double-minded man, ^(E)unstable in all his ways.

¹⁰ For ^(A)Demas, ^(B)in love with ^(C)this present world, ^(D)has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia,^{[a] (E)}Titus to Dalmatia.

³⁷ Now Barnabas wanted to take with them ^(A)John called Mark. ³⁸ But Paul thought best not to take with them one ^(B)who had withdrawn from them in Pamphylia and had not gone with them to the work.
