²⁷ I tell you the truth, some standing here right now will not die before they see the Kingdom of God.”

²⁸ And I tell you the truth, some standing here right now will not die before they see the Son of Man coming in his Kingdom.”

²² Jesus replied, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? As for you, follow me.” ²³ So the rumor spread among the community of believers^[a] that this disciple wouldn’t die. But that isn’t what Jesus said at all. He only said, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?”

9 Jesus went on to say, “I tell you the truth, some standing here right now will not die before they see the Kingdom of God arrive in great power!”

⁵¹ I tell you the truth, anyone who obeys my teaching will never die!”

⁵² The people said, “Now we know you are possessed by a demon. Even Abraham and the prophets died, but you say, ‘Anyone who obeys my teaching will never die!’

¹⁸ For I will not drink wine again until the Kingdom of God has come.”

⁹ What we do see is Jesus, who for a little while was given a position “a little lower than the angels”; and because he suffered death for us, he is now “crowned with glory and honor.” Yes, by God’s grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone.

²⁶ and had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen the Lord’s Messiah.

²⁵ I tell you the truth, I will not drink wine again until the day I drink it new in the Kingdom of God.”

⁷ But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate^[a] won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.
