²⁰ Then he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” And Peter answered, ^(A)“The Christ of God.”

¹⁵ He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” ¹⁶ Simon Peter replied, ^(A)“You are ^(B)the Christ, ^(C)the Son of ^(D)the living God.” ¹⁷ And Jesus answered him, ^(E)“Blessed are you, ^(F)Simon Bar-Jonah! For ^(G)flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, ^(H)but my Father who is in heaven.

^31 (A)but these are written so that you may ^(B)believe that Jesus is the Christ, ^(C)the Son of God, and that by believing ^(D)you may have life ^(E)in his name.

²⁷ She said to him, “Yes, Lord; ^(A)I believe that ^(B)you are the Christ, the Son of God, ^(C)who is coming into the world.”

⁴¹ Others said, “This is ^(A)the Christ.” But some said, ^(B)“Is the Christ to come from Galilee?

⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have ^(A)the words of eternal life, ⁶⁹ and ^(B)we have believed, and have come to know, that ^(C)you are ^(D)the Holy One of God.”

⁴² They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, ^(A)and we know that this is indeed ^(B)the Savior ^(C)of the world.”

²⁹ “Come, see a man ^(A)who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?”

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered him, ^(A)“Rabbi, ^(B)you are the Son of God! You are the ^(C)King of Israel!”
