9 And when his disciples asked him what this parable meant, 10 he said, (A)“To you it has been given to know (B)the secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so (C)that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’

9 Then his disciples began to ask him what this parable meant. 10 So he said, “You have been given knowledge about the secrets of the kingdom of God. But to others they are given[a] in parables, so that
‘they might look but not see,
and they might listen but not understand.’”[b]
