^49 (A)While He was still speaking, someone came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the ^[a]Teacher.”

⁶ Then Jesus went with them. And when He was already not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, “Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof.

^35 (A)While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”

³⁶ As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only ^(B)believe.” ³⁷ And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James. ³⁸ Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw ^[a]a tumult and those who ^(C)wept and wailed loudly. ³⁹ When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but ^(D)sleeping.”

⁴⁰ And they ridiculed Him. ^(E)But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. ⁴¹ Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” ⁴² Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were ^(F)overcome with great amazement. ⁴³ But ^(G)He commanded them strictly that no one should know it, and said that something should be given her to eat.

^23 (A)When Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw ^(B)the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, ²⁴ He said to them, ^(C)“Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him. ²⁵ But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and ^(D)took her by the hand, and the girl arose. ²⁶ And the ^(E)report of this went out into all that land.

¹² But Ahaz said, “I will not ask, nor will I test the Lord!”

⁷ and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’?

^41 (A)And behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. And he fell down at Jesus’ feet and begged Him to come to his house, ⁴² for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she ^(B)was dying.

But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him. ^43 (C)Now a woman, having a ^(D)flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any,
