²⁴ The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master,^(A) we’re going to drown!”

He got up and rebuked^(B) the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm.^(C)

³⁹ So he bent over her and rebuked^(A) the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them.

⁹ Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God,^(A) who raises the dead.^{(B) 10} He has delivered us from such a deadly peril,^(C) and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope^(D) that he will continue to deliver us,

⁵ Simon answered, “Master,^(A) we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything.^(B) But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”

² and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. ³ When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”

⁴ “Woman,^[a](A) why do you involve me?”^(B) Jesus replied. “My hour^(C) has not yet come.”

⁵ His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”^(D)

⁶ Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing,^(E) each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.^[b]
