⁹ When Jesus heard these things, ^(A)he marveled at him, and turning to the crowd that followed him, said, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such ^(B)faith.”

²⁸ Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, ^(A)great is your faith! ^(B)Be it done for you as you desire.” ^(C)And her daughter was ^(D)healed instantly.^[a]

¹⁰ When Jesus heard this, ^(A)he marveled and said to those who followed him, “Truly, I tell you, with ^(B)no one in Israel^[a] have I found such faith.

God's Righteousness Upheld

3 Then what advantage has the Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision? ² Much in every way. To begin with, ^(A)the Jews were entrusted with ^(B)the oracles of God. ^3 (C)What if some were unfaithful? ^(D)Does their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God?

⁴ They are ^(A)Israelites, and to them belong ^(B)the adoption, ^(C)the glory, ^(D)the covenants, ^(E)the giving of the law, ^(F)the worship, and ^(G)the promises. ⁵ To them belong ^(H)the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ, ^(I)who is God over all, ^(J)blessed forever. Amen.

³³ And when the demon had been cast out, the mute man spoke. And the crowds ^(A)marveled, saying, “Never was anything like this seen in Israel.”
