⁴ So they earnestly begged Jesus to help the man. “If anyone deserves your help, he does,” they said,

³⁷ “If you love your father or mother more than you love me, you are not worthy of being mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than me, you are not worthy of being mine. ³⁸ If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine.

¹³ If it turns out to be a worthy home, let your blessing stand; if it is not, take back the blessing.

³⁵ But in the age to come, those worthy of being raised from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage.

⁶ So Jesus went with them. But just before they arrived at the house, the officer sent some friends to say, “Lord, don’t trouble yourself by coming to my home, for I am not worthy of such an honor. ⁷ I am not even worthy to come and meet you. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed.

¹¹ “Whenever you enter a city or village, search for a worthy person and stay in his home until you leave town.
