³ When the centurion^[a] heard about Jesus, ^(A)he sent to him elders of the Jews, asking him to come and heal his servant.

The Faith of a Centurion

^5 (A)When he had entered Capernaum, a centurion came forward to him, appealing to him,

¹⁰ I appeal to you for ^(A)my child, ^(B)Onesimus,^{[a] (C)}whose father I became in my imprisonment.

⁴⁷ When this man heard that Jesus ^(A)had come from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and asked him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.

³⁸ And behold, a man from the crowd cried out, “Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, for ^(A)he is my only child.

^41 (A)And there came a man named Jairus, who was ^(B)a ruler of the synagogue. And falling at Jesus' feet, he implored him to come to his house,
