(A)Now it happened that on another Sabbath He entered (B)the synagogue and was teaching; and there was a man there [a]whose right hand was withered. And the scribes and the Pharisees (C)were watching Him closely to see if He heals on the Sabbath, so that they might find reason to accuse Him. But He (D)knew [b]what they were thinking, and He said to the man with the withered hand, “Get up and [c]come forward!” And he stood up and [d]came forward. And Jesus said to them, “I ask you, is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to destroy it?” 10 And after (E)looking around at them all, He said to him, “Stretch out your hand!” And he did so, and his hand was restored. 11 But they themselves were filled with [e]rage, and were discussing together what they might do to Jesus.

Jesus Heals a Man With a Withered Hand

On another Sabbath he went into the synagogue and taught. A man was there whose right hand was withered. The experts in the law and the Pharisees were watching him closely, to see if he would heal on the Sabbath. They wanted to find a reason to accuse him. But he always knew their thoughts. He said to the man with the withered hand, “Stand up and step forward.”[a] He got up and stood there. Then Jesus said to them, “I will ask you something. Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?” 10 He looked around at all of them and told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did, and his hand was restored. 11 They were filled with rage and began discussing with one another what they could do to Jesus.
