^6 (A)“A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am ^(B)a father, where is my honor? And if I am ^(C)a master, where is my fear? says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name. ^(D)But you say, ‘How have we despised your name?’

I Never Knew You

^21 (A)“Not everyone who ^(B)says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will ^(C)enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who ^(D)does the will of my Father who is in heaven. ^22 (E)On that day ^(F)many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not ^(G)prophesy in your name, and cast out demons ^(H)in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ ^23 (I)And then will I declare to them, ‘I ^(J)never knew you; ^(K)depart from me, ^(L)you workers of lawlessness.’

^25 (A)When once the master of the house has risen and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ^(B)‘Lord, open to us,’ then he will answer you, ^(C)‘I do not know where you come from.’ ²⁶ Then you will begin to say, ^(D)‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’ ²⁷ But he will say, ‘I tell you, ^(E)I do not know where you come from. ^(F)Depart from me, all you workers of evil!’

^7 (A)Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for ^(B)whatever one sows, that will he also reap.

^13 (A)You call me ^(B)Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. ¹⁴ If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, ^(C)you also ought to wash one another's feet. ¹⁵ For I have given you an example, ^(D)that you also should do just as I have done to you. ¹⁶ Truly, truly, I say to you, ^(E)a servant^[a] is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. ¹⁷ If you know these things, ^(F)blessed are you if you do them.

⁴⁴ Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’

²⁴ He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be ^(A)a hard man, reaping ^(B)where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed,

¹¹ Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ^(A)‘Lord, lord, open to us.’
