^34 (A)And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back.

⁴² Give to him who asks you, and ^(A)from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.

¹² Then He also said to him who invited Him, “When you give a dinner or a supper, do not ask your friends, your brothers, your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid. ¹³ But when you give a feast, invite ^(A)the poor, the ^[a]maimed, the lame, the blind. ¹⁴ And you will be ^(B)blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”

³⁵ But ^(A)love your enemies, ^(B)do good, and ^(C)lend, ^[a]hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and ^(D)you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.

⁸ but ^(A)you shall ^[a]open your hand wide to him and willingly lend him sufficient for his need, whatever he needs. ⁹ Beware lest there be a wicked thought in your heart, saying, ‘The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand,’ and your ^(B)eye be evil against your poor brother and you give him nothing, and ^(C)he cry out to the Lord against you, and ^(D)it become sin among you. ¹⁰ You shall surely give to him, and ^(E)your heart should not be grieved when you give to him, because ^(F)for this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your works and in all to which you put your hand. ¹¹ For ^(G)the poor will never cease from the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall ^[b]open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land.’
