The Twelve Apostles

¹² In these days ^(A)he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God.

⁷ In the days of his flesh, ^(A)Jesus^[a] offered up prayers and supplications, ^(B)with loud cries and tears, to him ^(C)who was able to save him from death, and ^(D)he was heard because of his reverence.

⁴⁶ And after he had taken leave of them, ^(A)he went up on the mountain to pray.

^35 (A)And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and ^(B)there he prayed.

Further Instructions

^2 (A)Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it ^(B)with thanksgiving.

²³ And after he had dismissed the crowds, ^(A)he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When ^(B)evening came, he was there alone, ²⁴ but the boat by this time was a long way^[a] from the land,^[b] beaten by the waves, for the wind was against them. ²⁵ And ^(C)in the fourth watch of the night^[c] he came to them, walking on the sea.

³⁴ And he said to them, ^(A)“My soul is very sorrowful, even to death. Remain here and ^(B)watch.”^{[a] 35} And going a little farther, he fell on the ground ^(C)and prayed that, if it were possible, ^(D)the hour might pass from him. ³⁶ And he said, ^(E)“Abba, Father, ^(F)all things are possible for you. Remove ^(G)this cup from me. ^(H)Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

⁶ But when you pray, ^(A)go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. ^(B)And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

¹⁰ When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where ^(A)he had windows in his upper chamber open ^(B)toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees ^(C)three times a day and prayed and ^(D)gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously.
