A Man Cleansed

12 While he was in one of the towns, a man was there who had leprosy[a] all over him.(A) He saw Jesus, fell facedown, and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”

13 Reaching out his hand, Jesus touched him,(B) saying, “I am willing; be made clean,” and immediately the leprosy left him. 14 Then he ordered him to tell no one:(C) “But go and show yourself to the priest, and offer what Moses commanded for your cleansing as a testimony to them.”

15 But the news[b] about him spread even more, and large crowds would come together to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. 16 Yet he often withdrew to deserted places and prayed.(D)

Jesus Cleanses a Man with a Skin Disease

When he saw Jesus, he bowed with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”(A) 13 Then Jesus[a] stretched out his hand, touched him, and said, “I am willing. Be made clean.” Immediately the skin disease left him. 14 And he ordered him to tell no one. “But go, show yourself to the priest, and, as Moses commanded, make an offering for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”(B) 15 But now more than ever the word about Jesus[b] spread abroad; many crowds were gathering to hear him and to be cured of their diseases.(C) 16 Meanwhile, he would slip away to deserted places and pray.(D)
