The miraculous catch of fish
5 One day, as the crowds were pressing close to him to hear the word of God, Jesus was standing by the lake of Gennesaret. 2 He saw two boats moored by the land; the fishermen had gone ashore and were washing their nets. 3 He got into one of the boats—it was Simon’s—and asked him to put out a little way from the land. Then he sat down in the boat and began to teach the crowd.
4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deeper part, and let down your nets for a catch.”
5 “Master,” replied Simon, “we were working hard all night and caught nothing at all. But if you say so, I’ll let down the nets.”
6 When they did so, they caught such a huge number of fish that their nets began to break. 7 They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. So they came, and filled both the boats, and they began to sink.
8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees.
“Leave me alone, Lord!” he said. “I’m a sinner!” 9 He and all his companions were gripped with amazement at the catch of fish they had taken. 10 This included James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon.
“Don’t be afraid,” said Jesus to Simon. “From now on you’ll be catching people.”
11 They brought the boats in to land. Then they abandoned everything and followed him.
The healing of the man with a virulent skin disease
12 It so happened that, as Jesus was in one particular town, there was a man whose skin was covered all over with a virulent disease. When he saw Jesus, he fell on his face.
“Lord,” he begged, “if you want, you can make me clean.”
13 Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him.
“I do want to,” he said. “Be clean.”
And the skin disease disappeared immediately.
14 Jesus instructed the man not to tell anyone. “Go and show yourself to the priest,” he said, “and make the offering commanded by Moses in connection with your healing, as evidence for them.”
15 The news about Jesus, though, spread all round, and large crowds came to hear and to be healed from their diseases. 16 He used to slip away to remote places and pray.
The healing of the paralytic lowered through the roof
17 One day, as Jesus was teaching, there were Pharisees and legal experts sitting there who had come from every village of Galilee, and from Judaea and Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was with Jesus, enabling him to heal. 18 Just then some men appeared, carrying a paralyzed man on a mattress; they were trying to bring him in and lay him before Jesus. 19 The crowd made it impossible for them to get through, so they went up on the roof and let him down through the tiles, mattress and all, so that he landed right in the middle, in front of Jesus.
20 Jesus saw what trust they had.
“My friend,” he said, “your sins are forgiven.”
21 The legal experts and Pharisees began to argue. “Who does he think he is?” they said. “He’s blaspheming! Nobody can forgive sins—only God can do that!”
22 Jesus knew their line of thought.
“Why are you complaining in your hearts?” he replied. 23 “Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 24 But if you want to be convinced that the son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins—” (here he turned to the paralyzed man) “—I say to you, get up, pick up your mattress, and go home.”
25 At once he got up in front of them all, picked up what he’d been lying on, and went off home, praising God.
26 A sense of awe came over everyone. They praised God, and were filled with fear. “We’ve seen extraordinary things today,” they said.
Questions about table-company and fasting
27 After this Jesus went out and saw a tax-collector called Levi, sitting at the tax-office. “Follow me,” he said. 28 And he left everything, got up, and followed him.
29 Levi made a great feast for him in his house, and a large crowd of tax-collectors and others were there reclining at table. 30 The Pharisees and the legal experts began to grumble to Jesus’ disciples.
“Why do you lot eat and drink,” they asked, “with tax-collectors and sinners?”
31 “Healthy people don’t need a doctor,” replied Jesus. “It’s sick people who do! 32 I haven’t come to call the righteous; I’m calling sinners to repentance.”
33 “John’s disciples often fast, and say prayers,” they said to him, “and so do the Pharisees’ followers—but your disciples eat and drink.”
34 “Can you make the wedding guests fast,” replied Jesus, “while the bridegroom is with them? 35 But the time will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them. That’s when they will fast.”
36 He added this parable. “Nobody tears a piece of cloth from a new coat to make a patch on an old one. If they do, they tear the new, and the patch from it won’t fit the old one anyway. 37 And nobody puts new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the new wine will burst the skins: it will go to waste, and the skins will be ruined too. 38 You have to put new wine in new skins. 39 And nobody who drinks old wine wants new. ‘I prefer the old,’ they say.”

5 一天，耶稣站在革尼撒勒湖边，众人团团围着祂，要听上帝的道。 2 祂看见湖边停着两条船，渔夫离了船正在洗网， 3 就上了西门的那条船，请西门把船稍微划离岸边，然后坐在船上教导众人。 4 耶稣讲完之后对西门说：“把船划到水深的地方去撒网捕鱼。”
5 西门说：“老师，我们劳碌了一整夜，一无所获，但既然你这样吩咐，我就照你的话做。” 6 他们把网撒下去，果然捕获很多鱼，差点把网撑破了， 7 于是招呼另一条船上的同伴来帮忙。他们一起把两条船都装满了鱼，船几乎要沉下去了。
8 西门·彼得见状，便跪倒在耶稣膝前说：“主啊，离开我，我是个罪人！” 9 他和所有同伴们对捕到这么多鱼感到非常惊讶， 10 包括西庇太的两个儿子雅各和约翰。耶稣对西门说：“不要怕，从今以后，你将成为得人的渔夫。” 11 于是他们把船靠岸后，撇下一切跟从了耶稣。
洁净麻风病人
12 有一次，耶稣在一个小镇遇见一个浑身患麻风病的人，那人一看见耶稣，就俯伏在地上恳求说：“主啊，如果你肯，一定能使我洁净。”
13 耶稣伸手摸他，说：“我肯，你洁净了吧！”他身上的麻风病立刻消失了。
14 耶稣又嘱咐他：“不要把这事告诉别人，要去让祭司察看你的身体，照摩西的规定献上祭物，向众人证明你已经洁净了。”
15 结果耶稣的名声传得更广了，成群的人聚集到祂那里听祂讲道、求祂医病。 16 不过，祂还是常常退到旷野去祷告。
叫瘫子行走
17 有一天，耶稣在教导人，旁边坐着来自加利利、犹太和耶路撒冷各地的法利赛人和律法教师，主的能力伴随着耶稣，使祂能医治病人。
18 有人用担架抬着一个瘫痪的人想进到屋里，把他放在耶稣面前。 19 可是人太挤了，无法进去，他们就爬上屋顶，掀开瓦片，把那病人连人带担架缒到耶稣面前。 20 耶稣看见他们那么有信心，就对瘫子说：“朋友，你的罪得到赦免了！”
21 那些法利赛人和律法教师开始议论起来：“这个说话亵渎上帝的人是谁啊？除了上帝以外，谁能够赦罪？”
22 耶稣知道他们的想法，就问：“你们为什么心里议论呢？ 23 说‘你的罪得到赦免了’容易呢，还是说‘你起来行走’容易呢？ 24 如今我要让你们知道人子在世上有赦罪的权柄。”于是对瘫子说：“我吩咐你起来！收拾你的担架回家去吧。”
25 那人立刻当众站了起来，拿起他躺卧的担架回家去了，不住地赞美上帝。 26 众人都十分惊奇，一同赞美上帝，心里充满了敬畏，说：“今天我们看到神迹了！”
呼召利未
27 后来耶稣外出时，看见一个名叫利未的税吏坐在收税站里，就对他说：“跟从我！” 28 利未就起来，撇下一切跟从了耶稣。
29 随后，他在家设宴款待耶稣，赴宴的人中有许多税吏和其他人。 30 法利赛人和律法教师就向耶稣的门徒抱怨说：“你们为什么跟税吏和罪人一起吃喝呢？”
31 耶稣答道：“健康的人不需要医生，有病的人才需要。 32 我来不是要召义人悔改，乃是召罪人悔改。”
论禁食
33 他们说：“约翰的门徒常常禁食祷告，法利赛人的门徒也是一样，可是你的门徒却又吃又喝。”
34 耶稣说：“新郎还跟宾客在一起的时候，岂能让宾客禁食？ 35 但有一天新郎将被带走，那时他们就要禁食了。” 36 耶稣又给他们讲了一个比喻，说：“没有人会从新衣服上撕下一块布来，补在旧衣服上。否则，不但新衣服撕破了，旧衣服和新补丁也不相称。 37 同样，没有人把新酒装进旧皮囊里，否则新酒会把旧皮囊胀破，酒也漏了，皮囊也毁了。 38 所以新酒一定要装在新皮囊里。 39 但是，没有人喝过陈年老酒后，还愿意喝新酒，因为他会说，‘还是陈年老酒好。’”

5 Comme Jésus se trouvait auprès du lac de Génésareth, et que la foule se pressait autour de lui pour entendre la parole de Dieu,
2 il vit au bord du lac deux barques, d'où les pêcheurs étaient descendus pour laver leurs filets.
3 Il monta dans l'une de ces barques, qui était à Simon, et il le pria de s'éloigner un peu de terre. Puis il s'assit, et de la barque il enseignait la foule.
4 Lorsqu'il eut cessé de parler, il dit à Simon: Avance en pleine eau, et jetez vos filets pour pêcher.
5 Simon lui répondit: Maître, nous avons travaillé toute la nuit sans rien prendre; mais, sur ta parole, je jetterai le filet.
6 L'ayant jeté, ils prirent une grande quantité de poissons, et leur filet se rompait.
7 Ils firent signe à leurs compagnons qui étaient dans l'autre barque de venir les aider. Ils vinrent et ils remplirent les deux barques, au point qu'elles enfonçaient.
8 Quand il vit cela, Simon Pierre tomba aux genoux de Jésus, et dit: Seigneur, retire-toi de moi, parce que je suis un homme pécheur.
9 Car l'épouvante l'avait saisi, lui et tous ceux qui étaient avec lui, à cause de la pêche qu'ils avaient faite.
10 Il en était de même de Jacques et de Jean, fils de Zébédée, les associés de Simon. Alors Jésus dit à Simon: Ne crains point; désormais tu seras pêcheur d'hommes.
11 Et, ayant ramené les barques à terre, ils laissèrent tout, et le suivirent.
12 Jésus était dans une des villes; et voici, un homme couvert de lèpre, l'ayant vu, tomba sur sa face, et lui fit cette prière: Seigneur, si tu le veux, tu peux me rendre pur.
13 Jésus étendit la main, le toucha, et dit: Je le veux, sois pur. Aussitôt la lèpre le quitta.
14 Puis il lui ordonna de n'en parler à personne. Mais, dit-il, va te montrer au sacrificateur, et offre pour ta purification ce que Moïse a prescrit, afin que cela leur serve de témoignage.
15 Sa renommée se répandait de plus en plus, et les gens venaient en foule pour l'entendre et pour être guéris de leurs maladies.
16 Et lui, il se retirait dans les déserts, et priait.
17 Un jour Jésus enseignait. Des pharisiens et des docteurs de la loi étaient là assis, venus de tous les villages de la Galilée, de la Judée et de Jérusalem; et la puissance du Seigneur se manifestait par des guérisons.
18 Et voici, des gens, portant sur un lit un homme qui était paralytique, cherchaient à le faire entrer et à le placer sous ses regards.
19 Comme ils ne savaient par où l'introduire, à cause de la foule, ils montèrent sur le toit, et ils le descendirent par une ouverture, avec son lit, au milieu de l'assemblée, devant Jésus.
20 Voyant leur foi, Jésus dit: Homme, tes péchés te sont pardonnés.
21 Les scribes et les pharisiens se mirent à raisonner et à dire: Qui est celui-ci, qui profère des blasphèmes? Qui peut pardonner les péchés, si ce n'est Dieu seul?
22 Jésus, connaissant leurs pensées, prit la parole et leur dit: Quelles pensées avez-vous dans vos coeurs?
23 Lequel est le plus aisé, de dire: Tes péchés te sont pardonnés, ou de dire: Lève-toi, et marche?
24 Or, afin que vous sachiez que le Fils de l'homme a sur la terre le pouvoir de pardonner les péchés: Je te l'ordonne, dit-il au paralytique, lève-toi, prends ton lit, et va dans ta maison.
25 Et, à l'instant, il se leva en leur présence, prit le lit sur lequel il était couché, et s'en alla dans sa maison, glorifiant Dieu.
26 Tous étaient dans l'étonnement, et glorifiaient Dieu; remplis de crainte, ils disaient: Nous avons vu aujourd'hui des choses étranges.
27 Après cela, Jésus sortit, et il vit un publicain, nommé Lévi, assis au lieu des péages. Il lui dit: Suis-moi.
28 Et, laissant tout, il se leva, et le suivit.
29 Lévi lui donna un grand festin dans sa maison, et beaucoup de publicains et d'autres personnes étaient à table avec eux.
30 Les pharisiens et les scribes murmurèrent, et dirent à ses disciples: Pourquoi mangez-vous et buvez-vous avec les publicains et les gens de mauvaise vie?
31 Jésus, prenant la parole, leur dit: Ce ne sont pas ceux qui se portent bien qui ont besoin de médecin, mais les malades.
32 Je ne suis pas venu appeler à la repentance des justes, mais des pécheurs.
33 Ils lui dirent: Les disciples de Jean, comme ceux des pharisiens, jeûnent fréquemment et font des prières, tandis que les tiens mangent et boivent.
34 Il leur répondit: Pouvez-vous faire jeûner les amis de l'époux pendant que l'époux est avec eux?
35 Les jours viendront où l'époux leur sera enlevé, alors ils jeûneront en ces jours-là.
36 Il leur dit aussi une parabole: Personne ne déchire d'un habit neuf un morceau pour le mettre à un vieil habit; car, il déchire l'habit neuf, et le morceau qu'il en a pris n'est pas assorti au vieux.
37 Et personne ne met du vin nouveau dans de vieilles outres; autrement, le vin nouveau fait rompre les outres, il se répand, et les outres sont perdues;
38 mais il faut mettre le vin nouveau dans des outres neuves.
39 Et personne, après avoir bu du vin vieux, ne veut du nouveau, car il dit: Le vieux est bon.

Jesus Calls His First Disciples(A)
5 One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret,[a] the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God.(B) 2 He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. 3 He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.(C)
4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”(D)
5 Simon answered, “Master,(E) we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything.(F) But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”
6 When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break.(G) 7 So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.
8 When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!”(H) 9 For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, 10 and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners.
Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid;(I) from now on you will fish for people.” 11 So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.(J)
Jesus Heals a Man With Leprosy(K)
12 While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy.[b](L) When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.
14 Then Jesus ordered him, “Don’t tell anyone,(M) but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded(N) for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”
15 Yet the news about him spread all the more,(O) so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. 16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.(P)
Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralyzed Man(Q)
17 One day Jesus was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law(R) were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal the sick.(S) 18 Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. 19 When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.
20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”(T)
21 The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, “Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”(U)
22 Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? 23 Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 24 But I want you to know that the Son of Man(V) has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 25 Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. 26 Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God.(W) They were filled with awe and said, “We have seen remarkable things today.”
Jesus Calls Levi and Eats With Sinners(X)
27 After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. “Follow me,”(Y) Jesus said to him, 28 and Levi got up, left everything and followed him.(Z)
29 Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors(AA) and others were eating with them. 30 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect(AB) complained to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”(AC)
31 Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”(AD)
Jesus Questioned About Fasting(AE)
33 They said to him, “John’s disciples(AF) often fast and pray, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours go on eating and drinking.”
34 Jesus answered, “Can you make the friends of the bridegroom(AG) fast while he is with them? 35 But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them;(AH) in those days they will fast.”
36 He told them this parable: “No one tears a piece out of a new garment to patch an old one. Otherwise, they will have torn the new garment, and the patch from the new will not match the old. 37 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. 38 No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins. 39 And no one after drinking old wine wants the new, for they say, ‘The old is better.’”
