³⁵ But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them; then they will fast in those days.”

⁴ But these things I have told you, that when ^[a]the time comes, you may remember that I told you of them.

⁵ “But now I ^(A)go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ ⁶ But because I have said these things to you, ^(B)sorrow has filled your heart. ⁷ Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but ^(C)if I depart, I will send Him to you.

²² Then He said to the disciples, ^(A)“The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.

²⁷ in weariness and toil, ^(A)in sleeplessness often, ^(B)in hunger and thirst, in ^(C)fastings often, in cold and nakedness—

^5 (A)Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that ^(B)Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

²³ So when they had ^(A)appointed elders in every church, and prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed.

² As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, ^(A)“Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work ^(B)to which I have called them.” ³ Then, ^(C)having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.

^21 (A)whom heaven must receive until the times of ^(B)restoration of all things, ^(C)which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since ^[a]the world began.
