Jesus Cleanses a Man with a Skin Disease

¹² Once when he was in one of the cities, a man covered with a skin disease was there. When he saw Jesus, he bowed with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”^(A)

¹⁶ He prostrated himself at Jesus’s^[a] feet and thanked him. And he was a Samaritan.^(A)

² and there was a man with a skin disease who came to him and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”^{(A) 3} He stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing. Be made clean!” Immediately his skin disease was cleansed. ⁴ Then Jesus said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”^(B)

¹² As he entered a village, ten men with a skin disease approached him. Keeping their distance,^{(A) 13} they called out, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

Jesus Cleanses a Man with a Skin Disease

⁴⁰ A man with a skin disease came to him begging him, and kneeling^[a] he said to him, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.”^{(A) 41} Moved with pity,^[b] Jesus^[c] stretched out his hand and touched him and said to him, “I am willing. Be made clean!” ⁴² Immediately the skin disease left him, and he was made clean. ⁴³ After sternly warning him he sent him away at once, ⁴⁴ saying to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded as a testimony to them.”^{(B) 45} But he went out and began to proclaim it freely and to spread the word, so that Jesus^[d] could no longer go into a town openly but stayed out in the country, and people came to him from every quarter.^(C)

²⁸ When he entered the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them, “Do you have faith that I can do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.”

²⁵ Consequently, he is able for all time to save^[a] those who approach God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.^(A)

⁸ The centurion answered, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only speak the word, and my servant^[a] will be healed.^{(A) 9} For I also am a man under authority, with soldiers under me, and I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this,’ and the slave does it.”
