¹¹ And when they had brought their boats to land, ^(A)they left everything and followed him.

²⁰ Immediately they left their nets and followed him.

²⁸ And Peter said, “See, ^(A)we have left our homes and followed you.” ²⁹ And he said to them, “Truly, I say to you, ^(B)there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers^[a] or parents or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, ³⁰ who will not receive ^(C)many times more ^(D)in this time, and in ^(E)the age to come eternal life.”

²⁸ And ^(A)leaving everything, he rose and followed him.

²⁷ Then Peter said in reply, “See, ^(A)we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?”

²¹ And Jesus, ^(A)looking at him, ^(B)loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, ^(C)sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have ^(D)treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”

¹⁸ And immediately they left their nets and followed him. ¹⁹ And going on a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, who were in their boat mending the nets. ²⁰ And immediately he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants and followed him.

Jesus Heals a Man with an Unclean Spirit

^21 (A)And they went into Capernaum, and immediately ^(B)on the Sabbath ^(C)he entered the synagogue and was teaching. ²² And ^(D)they were astonished at his teaching, ^(E)for he taught them as one who had authority, and not as the scribes. ²³ And immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, ^24 (F)“What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? ^(G)I know who you are—^(H)the Holy One of God.” ²⁵ But Jesus ^(I)rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!”

⁷ But ^(A)whatever gain I had, ^(B)I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. ⁸ Indeed, I count everything as loss because of ^(C)the surpassing worth of ^(D)knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I ^(E)have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ

^37 (A)Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
