Many Are Healed

38 (A)Then He got up and left the synagogue, and entered Simon’s home. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was (B)suffering from a high fever, and they asked Him [a]to help her. 39 And standing over her, He (C)rebuked the fever, and it left her; and she immediately got up and served them.

40 (D)Now while (E)the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He was (F)laying His hands on each one of them and (G)healing them. 41 Demons also were coming out of many, shouting, “You are (H)the Son of God!” And yet He was (I)rebuking them and would (J)not allow them to speak, because they knew that He was the [b]Christ.

Jesus Heals Many People

38 After leaving the synagogue that day, Jesus went to Simon’s home, where he found Simon’s mother-in-law very sick with a high fever. “Please heal her,” everyone begged. 39 Standing at her bedside, he rebuked the fever, and it left her. And she got up at once and prepared a meal for them.

40 As the sun went down that evening, people throughout the village brought sick family members to Jesus. No matter what their diseases were, the touch of his hand healed every one. 41 Many were possessed by demons; and the demons came out at his command, shouting, “You are the Son of God!” But because they knew he was the Messiah, he rebuked them and refused to let them speak.
