Satan Tempts Jesus(A)
4 Then (B)Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and (C)was led by the Spirit [a]into the wilderness, 2 being [b]tempted for forty days by the devil. And (D)in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.
3 And the devil said to Him, “If You are (E)the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”
4 But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, (F)‘Man shall not live by bread alone, [c]but by every word of God.’ ”
5 [d]Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for (G)this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. 7 Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.”
8 And Jesus answered and said to him, [e]“Get behind Me, Satan! [f]For it is written, (H)‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”
9 (I)Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. 10 For it is written:
(J)‘He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you,’
11 and,
(K)‘In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ”
12 And Jesus answered and said to him, “It has been said, (L)‘You shall not [g]tempt the Lord your God.’ ”
13 Now when the devil had ended every [h]temptation, he departed from Him (M)until an opportune time.
Jesus Begins His Galilean Ministry(N)
14 (O)Then Jesus returned (P)in the power of the Spirit to (Q)Galilee, and (R)news of Him went out through all the surrounding region. 15 And He (S)taught in their synagogues, (T)being glorified by all.
Jesus Rejected at Nazareth(U)
16 So He came to (V)Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, (W)He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:
18 “The(X) Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me [i]to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To (Y)set at liberty those who are [j]oppressed;
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is (Z)fulfilled in your hearing.” 22 So all bore witness to Him, and (AA)marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. And they said, (AB)“Is this not Joseph’s son?”
23 He said to them, “You will surely say this proverb to Me, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done in (AC)Capernaum,[k] do also here in (AD)Your country.’ ” 24 Then He said, “Assuredly, I say to you, no (AE)prophet is accepted in his own country. 25 But I tell you truly, (AF)many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land; 26 but to none of them was Elijah sent except to [l]Zarephath, in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. 27 (AG)And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.”
28 So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were (AH)filled with [m]wrath, 29 (AI)and rose up and thrust Him out of the city; and they led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw Him down over the cliff. 30 Then (AJ)passing through the midst of them, He went His way.
Jesus Casts Out an Unclean Spirit(AK)
31 Then (AL)He went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbaths. 32 And they were (AM)astonished at His teaching, (AN)for His word was with authority. 33 (AO)Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice, 34 saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? (AP)I know who You are—(AQ)the Holy One of God!”
35 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, [n]“Be quiet, and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him in their midst, it came out of him and did not hurt him. 36 Then they were all amazed and spoke among themselves, saying, “What a word this is! For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.” 37 And the report about Him went out into every place in the surrounding region.
Peter’s Mother-in-Law Healed(AR)
38 (AS)Now He arose from the synagogue and entered Simon’s house. But Simon’s wife’s mother was [o]sick with a high fever, and they (AT)made request of Him concerning her. 39 So He stood over her and (AU)rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and served them.
Many Healed After Sabbath Sunset(AV)
40 (AW)When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them. 41 (AX)And demons also came out of many, crying out and saying, (AY)“You are [p]the Christ, the Son of God!”
And He, (AZ)rebuking them, did not allow them to [q]speak, for they knew that He was the Christ.
Jesus Preaches in Galilee(BA)
42 (BB)Now when it was day, He departed and went into a deserted place. And the crowd sought Him and came to Him, and tried to keep Him from leaving them; 43 but He said to them, “I must (BC)preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.” 44 (BD)And He was preaching in the synagogues of [r]Galilee.

耶穌受試探
4 耶穌被聖靈充滿，從約旦河回來後，隨聖靈的引導來到曠野， 2 在那裡受魔鬼的試探四十天。那些日子耶穌什麼也沒吃。那段日子過後，祂餓了。 3 魔鬼對祂說：「如果你是上帝的兒子，可以把這塊石頭變成食物來吃啊。」
4 耶穌回答說：「聖經上說，『人活著不是單靠食物。』」
5 魔鬼又帶祂上到高處，頃刻間把天下萬國展示給祂看， 6 又說：「我要把這一切權勢和榮耀都給你，因為這一切全交給我了，我想給誰就給誰。 7 所以如果你向我下拜，這一切就是你的了。」
8 耶穌回答說：「聖經上說，『要敬拜主——你的上帝，單單事奉祂。』」
9 魔鬼又帶耶穌到耶路撒冷，讓祂站在聖殿的最高處，說：「如果你是上帝的兒子，就從這裡跳下去吧， 10 因為聖經上說，『上帝會吩咐祂的天使保護你， 11 他們會用手托住你，不讓你的腳碰在石頭上。』」
12 耶穌回答說：「聖經上說，『不可試探主——你的上帝。』」
13 魔鬼用盡各樣的試探後，暫時離開了耶穌。
拿撒勒人厭棄耶穌
14 耶穌帶著聖靈的能力回到加利利，祂的名聲傳遍了周圍地區。 15 祂在各會堂裡教導人，大家都稱讚祂。
16 祂來到自己長大的地方拿撒勒，照常在安息日進會堂，並站起來誦讀聖經。 17 有人把以賽亞先知書遞給祂，祂打開書卷，找到這樣一段經文：
18 「主的靈在我身上，
因為祂膏立了我，

38 祂離開會堂，到了西門的家。那時，西門的岳母正在發高燒，眾人就求耶穌醫治她。
39 耶穌站在她旁邊，斥責熱病，熱病就退了，她便立刻起來服侍他們。
40 到了黃昏，人們把患各種疾病的人帶到耶穌面前。耶穌把手按在病人身上，一一治好他們， 41 並趕出許多附在人身上的鬼。那些鬼喊叫著：「你是上帝的兒子！」耶穌卻斥責牠們，不許牠們說話，因為牠們知道祂是基督。

The Temptation of Jesus
4 And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness 2 forty days, being tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing during those days, and when[a] they were completed, he was hungry. 3 So the devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, order this stone that it become bread!” 4 And Jesus replied to him, “It is written, ‘Man will not live on bread alone.’”[b]
5 And he led him up and[c] showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said to him, “I will give you all this domain and their glory, because it has been handed over to me, and I can give it to whomever I want. 7 So if you will worship before me, all this will be yours.” 8 And Jesus answered and[d] said to him, “It is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve only him.’”[e]
9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and had him stand on the highest point of the temple and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here, 10 for it is written,
‘He will command his angels concerning you,
to protect you,’[f]
11 and
‘on their hands they will lift you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”[g]
12 And Jesus answered and[h] said to him, “It is said, ‘You are not to put to the test the Lord your God.’”[i] 13 And when[j] the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him until a favorable time.[k]
Public Ministry in Galilee
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news about him went out throughout all the surrounding region. 15 And he began to teach[l] in their synagogues, and[m] was praised by all.
Rejected at Nazareth
16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up,[n] and according to his custom[o] he entered into the synagogue on the day of the Sabbath and stood up to read. 17 And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him, and unrolling the scroll he found the place where it was written,
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because of which he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me
to proclaim release to the captives,
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to send out in freedom those who are oppressed,
19 to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.”[p]
20 And he rolled up the scroll and[q] gave it[r] back to the attendant and[s] sat down. And the eyes of everyone in the synagogue were looking intently at him. 21 And he began to say to them, “Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” 22 And they were all speaking well of him, and were astonished at the gracious words that were coming out of his mouth. And they were saying, “Is this man not the son of Joseph?” 23 And he said to them, “Doubtless you will tell me this parable: ‘Physician, heal yourself!’ Whatever we have heard that took place in Capernaum, do here in your hometown also!” 24 And he said, “Truly I say to you that no prophet is acceptable in his own hometown. 25 But in truth I say to you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut for three years and six months while a great famine took place over all the land. 26 And Elijah was sent to none of them, but only to Zarephath in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. 27 And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha, and none of them was made clean except Naaman the Syrian.” 28 And all those in the synagogue were filled with anger when they[t] heard these things. 29 And they stood up and[u] forced him out of the town and brought him up to the edge of the hill on which their town was built, so that they could throw him down the cliff. 30 But he passed through their midst and[v] went on his way.
Jesus Teaches and Heals Many in Capernaum
31 And he came down to Capernaum, a town of Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbath. 32 And they were astounded at his teaching, because he spoke[w] with authority.
33 And in the synagogue there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon,[x] and he cried out with a loud voice, 34 “Ha! Leave us alone,[y] Jesus the Nazarene! Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!” 35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent and come out of him!” And after[z] throwing him down in their midst, the demon came out of him without hurting him at all. 36 And amazement came upon them all, and they began to talk[aa] with one another, saying, “What word[ab] is this? For he commands the unclean spirits with authority and power, and they come out!” 37 And news about him went out into every place of the surrounding region.
38 And after he[ac] set out from the synagogue, he went into Simon’s house.
